Remember, you saw it here first! This is the 1st look at the soon-to-be-released BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHT Anime Batman Film by Warner Bros. For people living under a rock & have not heard of this DC UNIVERSE Animated Movie it will come out as a DVD just before the DARK KNIGHT Motion Picture is released in Summer 2008. It's gonna feature state-of-the-art animation done by some of the most major Japanese Anime artists & directors. The story will bridge the gap between the 2 Batman movies: Batman Begins & The Dark Knight. DVD REVIEW: Justice League, The New Frontier

OK, I want to say, 1st thing, that I received a free copy of this DVD for review but that in NO way affects my opinion here. I'm gonna be very honest about what I feel about this movie. This movie is AWESOME! Justice League, The New Frontier is Warner Brothers' latest DVD film that is being released to stores today, Feb 26th! It's the adaptation of Darwyn Cooke's popular graphic novel from a few years ago. He was an adviser on the film so it totally retains the look & feel of his famous artwork. The graphic style is sort of an homage to the animation art that was popular in the 1950's. Very simple & minimal with strong color palettes. The art direction of this film is beautiful. The sound effects & voice acting are top notch! There are too many great actors to name here but the voices were all wonderful. The storyline starts out in the Korean War & ends when John F. Kennedy is president so it's almost all about the Cold War era. The DC Comic Book characters are the ones from the Silver-Age of comics so that has a great nostalgic appeal. There's a few political statements here & there but they're kinda watered down ( The general public thinks The Flash might be a Communist because his costume is RED, ha ha ). The basic story is how the Justice League got together & formed a team. There's a huge event that places the earth in danger & they all get together to fight it. Overall I really enjoyed this movie & highly recommend it. My only gripe is that at 75 minutes it seemed a little short. Other than that small detail the artwork, sound e/fx, voices, storyline, is really very good. I guess if I was to rate it by number I would give it a 7 or 8 out of 10. If you liked the graphic novel then you'll love this animated version!

Promo Photos: Some BRAND-NEW The DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie TOYS, Action Figures, & Statues!

These images were pulled from a Japanese site & if Warner Bros wants them taken down I might have to but here's a few promo photos for a few of the super-cool Batman Toys they're gonna make for the 2008 Dark Knight movie! The 1st two pics are a set of Batman & Joker Deluxe Action Figures. Both are really impressive but the Joker's face is awesome! He looks exactly like Heath Ledger, a good job on that! The next item is a replica-prop of the Batman Grapple-Hook Gun. Looks like it comes with a stand & I bet it's gonna be popular. It also looks to be extremely nice quality, that's cool. The last photo are a pair of Batman & Joker Mini-Busts. The detailing on all these toys/statues are pretty nice. A lot of bat-fans were kinda turned off by the variety & quality of the Batman Begins merchandise but this time around it looks like they are gonna go all out! Harvey Dent Political Campaign Speech Cancelled

There's been a lot of hype recently about the I BELIEVE IN HARVEY DENT website having a "Live" News Conference yesterday ( Sunday ) at 3:00 PM EST. Well, I was away from the computer but after getting back home I checked & it looks like it was canceled because of a "Hostage Event down the street at a local Gotham City Deli". Here's what the official report is: "Today's press conference was unexpectedly cancelled due to a hostage crisis located at a nearby deli. In a selfless move, Mr. Dent entered the premises, exchanged himself for a woman who was being held at gunpoint, and negotiated the successful release of the remaining patrons in the restaurant. Watch this site for updates. We will release more details when they become available." Wow! Dent is a hero! But, I wonder when they are going to have their actual news conference rescheduled? THE DARK KNIGHT: Message From Jim Gordon, GCPD

Today, as a part of the Acme Security Systems ( Gotham City ) website I got an e-mail from Jim Gordon. It reads, "My friend, Indictments are about to be handed down. If you don't want your name on one, we'll need your full cooperation in an upcoming operation. In case you haven't heard, we are struggling with a bit of corruption in the department. I'm not about to let the Gotham PD collapse in on itself, so we're taking action. We've identified a group of offenders that need to be apprehended. Problem is, most of these cops are hightailing it out of the city. But a C.I. just like you just gave us some information on their last known whereabouts. Now all we need is to catch them. This is where you come in. Consider yourself on deck. I'll contact you next week, and let's just say it's in your best interest to play along. County's not a place you want to spend the rest of your life. Lt. Jim Gordon, MCU"I guess we'll have to see what happens next!

Preview: NEW The DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie Toys & Memorabilia!

I've been collecting some RARE photos of some of the new DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie merchandise, just for you, that I have been seeing & thought I would post some today. There's a lot to look at so let's get right to it! The 1st photo is gonna be the new calender to get for 2009, THE DARK KNIGHT Movie 16 Month Wall Calender. I wish I knew what the inside photos were but the cover has amazing graphics so it should be pretty sweet. The next item was photographed at the recent New York Comic Con ( NYCC 2008 ) , it's the official SCARECROW Dark Knight Action Figure from Mattel. I love the facial expression of this character, sort of scary &"cartoony". The next 2 photos are from the Rubie's Costume Catalog. It looks like they're gonna go totally crazy making all kinds of Halloween Costumes, Masks, Party Accessories, & even Joker Make-Up! The next picture is one we have put here before but this time we get a nice close-up of the actual cars. This is gonna be the DARK KNIGHT BATMAN SLOT CAR Race Set by TYCO...looks cool! I really like the Tumbler Batmobile! After this is a photo of a Dark Knight Birthday Present Bag ( or it might be a Shopping Bag from the WB Stores, not sure. This photo was sent to me by a Bat-Blog reader with no explanation ). The last photo is sort of a prototype shot of what the THE DARK KNIGHT Playstation 3 Video Game Case is gonna look like. I have not confirmed that this is the actual item but you know they're gonna HAVE to make this movie a video game! Well, that's it for now. Sneak Peek! OK, it's not the best quality but this is the brand-new DARK KNIGHT BATMAN Movie Trailer # 2 shown in Brazil that will be released by Warner Bros Studio in a few days ( maybe this Sunday at the WHYSOSERIOUS/HAPPYTRAILS website). We really get to hear The Joker's voice ( Heath Ledger ) a lot more in this one. There's also more of a focus on Harvey Dent ( Aaron Eckhart ) & Rachel Dawes ( Maggie Gyllenhaal ). Overall, this new movie trailer is FREAKIN' AWESOME!!

Just Released! Warner Bros put out a brand-new International Movie Poster for THE DARK KNIGHT featuring an amazing photo of Heath Ledger as The JOKER...sweet! Man, How many posters are they gonna have for this movie? ha Ha! But, I gotta admit that this one is pretty cool. ( Click on it for a larger version ).

Since today is "Wacky Wallpapers Wednesday" at the Bat-Blog I thought I would post 2 FREE Desktop backgrounds that relate to Batman Vehicles. The 1st one is a detail action shot from one of the new THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie Posters. It features Batman on the Bat-Pod Motorcycle crashing through a window...very cool! The 2nd wallpaper is a wonderful original Vintage 1960's Family Photo sent in by a reader awhile back. It shows him & his cousin visiting the original 1966 Batman TV Show Batmobile. This must have been the GREATEST day of their lives, ha ha! I really love this picture & because it was so BIG I knew it had to be a background graphic!! Advertising Banner For BATMAN: MYSTERY OF THE BATWOMAN Animated DVD Movie

Here at the Bat-Blog we have a friend named "Brohawk" who's an extremely talented graphic artist. His work is featured on the cover to the BATMAN: MYSTERY OF THE BATWOMAN Animated DVD Movie that came out a few years ago. Here's a photo I found at his personal website & had to share it. It seems that Warner Bros, around the time of the release of this movie, put up this HUGE vinyl banner advertising the event. "Brohawk" is shown here in the 2 photos. In the 1st one you can see how GIANT-SIZED this thing was, look how tiny he is compared to it... it's HUGE, ha ha! This must have been an amazing day for him seeing his work so large-scale like this & personally I am kinda proud of it too.

It's been kinda known that Domino's Pizza will be doing a promotional tie-in with The Dark Knight Batman movie. There's gonna be a unique-shaped BATMAN PIZZA put out by them. Now, for Batman collectors, there will probably be a special Pizza Box with TDK graphics. There might even be some vinyl advertising banners to look out for.
