First off I gotta say I am quite impressed with the nice variety of Batman Memorabilia you have & I also like the way it's displayed, very cool! Thanks again Kevin, I appreciate that. One great reference for Vintage Batman Toys (other than the Bat-Blog of course, ha ha! ) are very old Sears & JC Penney Catalogs. You would be surprised what extremely RARE bat-memorabilia you can find there! Here's an example: In the mid-1960's they made a BATMAN PUNCHING BOP BAG that now is very hard-to-find, especially in MINT shape since these were all destroyed by kids playing with them. Also, once they leaked air then out in the trash they went! If there are any readers who collect these catalogs then please send us some scans. Thanks.
The other night we hit the local evil Wal-Mart to get a few supplies & I was pleasantly surprised to find, by accident, these 2 brand-new Batman products: Batman Bubble Bath ( Cherry Scent ) and Batman Band-Aid Box. You know I had to buy them, ha ha! The scary thing is the Bubble Bath has a major health warning on the back that reads, "CAUTION: Use Only As Directed. Excessive use or prolonged exposure may cause irritation to skin & urinary tract, etc..." OK, The part about "urinary tract" really really scares me, ha ha! But the packaging, for both items, is pretty cool. I like that they use the traditional "Comic Book Batman"...nice graphics!

OK Batman Collectors. Right now, as we speak, there is a brand-new Batman Product that is in stores & features The Dark Knight movie logo. The problem is, they only sell it in Europe. Ouch! Our friend Norbert, who lives in Germany, sent this very nice photo of a cool new piece of Batman Merchandise. It's the "Calippo Shots" Batman-Snack! Basically it's a frozen treat that is Lemon & Cola flavored & sounds pretty good. I have also got reports that it is selling in Ireland too. It's a totally European company that is making it so I don't think we'll be getting these here, bummer. I wanna thank Norbert for sending us both the photo & information. If any other readers in "foreign lands" have any pictures of new Batman Memorabilia then please send them along too.
Include here, for your viewing pleasure, are 4 extremely cool pieces of Batman Memorabilia from the 60's! The 1st photo is of a very hard-to-find BATMAN and ROBIN BEACH TOWEL. It features a picture of the Dynamic Duo racing along in their famous Batmobile. I don't have one of these in my personal collection but would kill for it, ha ha! The next item is pretty RARE also. It's a Plastic BATMAN FRISBEE with a large sticker that has some wonderful vintage graphics. The 3rd item is a SPARKLE PAINTS Paint Kit made by Kenner. Basically it's a Paint-By-Number Kit with special "glitter paint", snazzy! Next, we have a very cool BATMAN FORK & SPOON Set that is still attached to the vintage display card. The graphics on the card are awesome, especially with the old logo. If you look closely both the spoon & fork have a "Batman Name & Figure" each embossed on the handle, nice! No offense, but I'm kinda tired of reporting on THE DARK KNIGHT movie, ha ha. Don't get me wrong, I'm totally excited about it being released soon & completely love it but as a writer for this blog I have to really really really cover it...a lot! So, I thought I would post some wonderful vintage toys from the past. Here...we...GO! The 1st photo is an extremely RARE ( & also very weird ) item called the 1966 BATMAN BAT-GRENADE. It's a rubber hand grenade toy you throw & when the end of it hits the ground it make a loud POP sound. It makes that sound because you take cap-gun ammo & load it into the mechanism on the top end. When it hits the ground, it goes off, BAAMMM! The weird thing is that the grenade has wings, ha ha. But I seriously love the vintage graphics on the display card...nice! The next item is newer but still pretty hard to find, especially in the original box. It's the 1989 BATMAN MOVIE ELECTRONIC LCD HAND HELD VIDEO GAME made by Grandstand. The reason it's RARE ( for American collectors anyway ) is that it was issued in the UK. The game play on these things were usually very weak but they still have a nice charm from a bygone era! The 3rd photo is a super cute & kinda goofy Batman item, it's the BATMAN SUPER BABY DOLL in original box! This was made by Amsco in the 1970's, 1974 to be exact. They also made a Superman & Wonder Woman doll as well. So, I hope you have enjoyed some of these super-rare pieces of Batman Memorabilia. OK, Right off the bat I wanna say that the above photo is actually made into a "Desktop Wallpaper", for those interested, & it's kinda cool. The thing is, a new friend to the Bat-Blog named JR, sent me a really big photo of his amazing Vintage Batman Toy Collection. But, the picture deserves to be seen large just so you can focus on all the stuff here...it's amazing! This is an extremely impressive gathering of Bat-Memorabilia. There's a ton of vintage 60's items mixed with stuff from last week, I like that. There's also a few pieces that are extremely RARE! I spent a lot of time looking at every single clue as to what each item was & there's a lot of high-quality stuff here. What many Toy Collectors call "Museum Pieces". Oh sure, a couple of things are kinda common. We all have stuff like that because it's neat to have & you can usually find it at a garage sale for cheap. But, there's some other collectibles here that I will never get ( or see in "real life" )...unless I win the lottery! Thank you JR for sharing this pic with us. Awhile back a Bat-Blog Reader named Jim sent us these cool photos of some recently acquired Batman collectibles. He said they're from the 1980's & he was happy to find them because he has never seen them before. I gotta admit that I don't remember ever seeing them either...how weird! There's four of them & each one has a different cover with another character. Familiar super-villains include The Penguin, Killer Croc, Man-Bat, & one character I have never heard of before, "World Destroyer"! Also, what is Hawkman doing making an appearance on the Man-Bat cover? Wow! Thanks Jim for sending the wonderful pictures. These have got to be extremely RARE! I want to invite all other readers with weird, unusual, Batman Memorabilia to send some pics today! Sharing fun, obscure, rare information about Batman toy collecting is the main purpose of this page!
I thought it was time to post a few pictures of Batman toys from the past. So, here we go! The 1st photo is from a friend in Chicago who really loves the RARE & obscure vintage Batman toys. He recently sent us this great photo of a 1970's BATMAN OFFICIAL BATCYCLE Remote-Control Toy, with Original Box. I seriously love this thing, it's awesome! Plus, you don't see too many of the vintage "Batman on Motorcycle" toys so that's cool. The 2nd photo is pretty amazing also. This is an original store display to sell 70's BATMAN SUPERHERO PUFFY-STICKERS. I guess this hung behind the counter & you would say, "Hey, give me a Robin, Catwoman, & The Joker!" This one looks unused & is extremely RARE. I love the vintage graphics that are all over this thing, especially the header-card part. The last photo is the OFFICIAL BATMAN SHOOTING ARCADE. Again, the vintage 70's graphics are wonderful. This is a very hard-to-find item, even loose. But to see it in the box is a treat. I wanna take this time to ask all Bat-Blog Readers with RARE toys to please send some pics to share. That's the main focus of the Bat-Blog, sharing the joys of collecting Batman!
I've been doing the Bat-Blog for over two years now & one of the things that still amazes me is Batman's popularity all over the world. I get messages from Bat-Fans who live in the most obscure places, that's awesome! So I thought I would use that as the theme for this post. Here's a few photos of some super-rare Batman Toys mailed in by our readers. The 1st one is from a friend in Germany. This is a very funny "Bootleg" Batman Hand-Puppet from the 1960's. The mask that the figure is wearing does look a lot like the cowl worn by Adam West in the 1966 TV Show. Plus, ya gotta love those wacky eyebrows, ha ha! Also, It looks like they stole the image from the "1960's Batman" Life Magazine cover for the header card...nice. The next set of photos feature the BATLANCHA ( Bat-Boat ) made by Gulliver Toys. This beautiful masterpiece is from Argentina. The 1st Bat-Boat comes with it's own original box. I love the vintage graphics. The 2nd Bat-Boat, the one by itself, is a later re-issue in a slightly different color. Both of them are awesome! The last photo is one of my favorites. It's a group of Vintage Batman Manga Magazines from Japan with wonderful artwork. I really really love the Japanese Bat-Logo. It looks really great! I hope all my readers enjoy seeing these as much as I do & I hope it inspires a few people from around the world to send in photos of their "foreign treasures". I have been covering a lot of news lately about a lot of the brand-new Batman Toys that are out there to collect & thought I'd do a post about some wonderful old vintage toys. The 1st photo is an amazing piece of Bat-History & also quite rare. It's the 1966 BATMAN BAT-WATCH by Amsco. This item is really beautiful. I mean the watch, with moving bat-hands, is very cool but the vintage graphics on the card are really great! I like the bright simple primary colors...nice! The next piece has a lot of graphic style also. It's an original bread wrapper for BATMAN BREAD! It too is from the mid-1960's. This pic was sent in by a Bat-Blog Reader named Wes who wanted to share this rare piece in his personal collection ( Thank You Wes ). The last photo is an item that is probably the most rare of all. It's a Justice League of America Rubber-Figure Set, Mint on Original Card. It was made by Multiple Toymakers 1967. The figures include: Aquaman, Superman, Batman, & Wonder Woman. One thing about it that totally cracks me up is the original retail price back then was 19 cents!! During the Batman Movie craze of 1989 a company in Peru called F nix made some BATMAN COOKIES. Over there they call them "Galletas". Here's a RARE old Vintage TV Commercial Spot for the product. Man, I would love to have a package pf those!! 
In a previous Bat-Blog report you might remember a pair of Batman & Joker Bobble Head Nodders we posted. Of course they were from THE DARK KNIGHT movie & were pretty cool. I never got around to getting a set but plan on it in the future. Well, it looks like the NECA Toy Company has produced a totally brand-new set of 3 HeadKnockers of TDK Batman, Joker, & Harvey Dent / Two-Face ). These too are pretty cool & it's nice to see some new TDK merchandise.
I have a question to ask the readers of the Bat-Blog. Please look at this photo of these 2 RARE 1966 Batman "Bat Brush" Toothbrushes made by The Butler Brush Company. One is Red & the other is sort of an Aqua-Green. The question is, "Have you ever seen any other colors of this item before?". This is something that a Bat-Blog Reader named Ralph wanted to know. Apparently he wants to get one of each color & is wondering what the other ones are. Personally, I think he should be happy with one of them & send me the other one as a gift...that would be cool, ha ha! If you know of any other colors then please leave a comment down below, thanks.
Recently I have been getting a lot of Bat-Blog Reader submitted photos of everything you can imagine that has to do with the Batman character ( I seriously love that! ). Here's a great example: a friend named Brian sent these old vintage family photos he had just very recently unsurfaced. His own explanation is more clear than I could do so this is what he said in the e-mail, "I've been archiving my parents' slides this past week and came across some pictures that I've never seen before. These are pictures of my buddies and myself playing around in costumes. The year was 1974 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. I was Batman and my friend, Pat, was dressed up as Superman. I was thrilled to find actual photographic evidence that I owned the Ben Cooper costume. I remembered having the mask but wasn't sure about the whole suit." Wow! Brian, I really really love old vintage family photos like this & the story is even better! To find these old lost forgotten memories must have been a really great experience & I truly appreciate you sharing them with us here. It must have been a total shock seeing these, I can only imagine, ha ha! Yeah, the good ole' Ben Cooper Halloween Costumes. They are really awesome pieces of pop culture history. Somewhere, at my Mother's house, is an old photo of me wearing a Casper ,The Friendly Ghost costume, ha ha...good times, good times. Thanks again for sending the cool pics...YOU ARE BATMAN!
The other day a friend sent me this photo of an old magazine ad he found. He said, "Hey Tommy, Do you remember those old Monster Magazines from the 60's & 70's? Ya know, the ones that were all black & white inside. Well, I found one with this ad in the back I knew you would like". I said, "Wow! yeah, this is an awesome piece of Bat-History, thanks!" The ad is for those old vintage 8mm film reels you could buy to watch on the wall at home. This set is for the BATMAN SERIAL MOVIES from the 1940's. Now, the thing that makes this pic so cool is take a look at the store display box!! These movies were sold in small boxes & when we find them they're usually there but that special "store counter box" used to display them is extremely super-rare! Now, everybody, please excuse the 2nd photo being kinda blurry but what I did was blow it up to give you a better idea of what I'm talking about...that display box is AWESOME! A new Bat-Friend named Markus sent us some extremely cool photos the other night & he said, "My name is Markus and I'm from Sweden, 20 years old. I'm a big Batman Fan and really enjoy your blog. I have two major Batman pieces in my collection. I have the Original Robin Mask worn on screen by Chris O'Donnell in the 1995 BATMAN FOREVER movie . I also have the original Batman Cowl worn by George Clooney in BATMAN AND ROBIN ( 1997 ). I know most fans dislike these movies but the suits themselves are pretty cool and extremely well made. As a Batman Fan I really enjoy owning these pieces." Thanks Markus, the photos are awesome & I can only imagine how cool it is to see these amazing pieces of bat-memorabilia, in real-life, everyday! I know that the "Joel Schumacher films" are sort of laughed at today but they are a part of bat-history & actually, "Batman Forever" wasn't too bad, ha ha. I know that for a lot of younger Batman Fans these movies were sort of their introduction to the character & for that reason, when they get older, these movies will be very special to them. Something to think about is that every fan sort of has their "own Batman"...the one they loved a s a kid. So, looking at it that way, these Movie Props are sort of guaranteed to become even more special & valuable in the future. I think these are great pieces, I even like the display cases, & thanks again for sharing these pics.
