A couple of days ago a friend of the Bat-Blog, named Perry, sent us some really wonderful photos. I posted one of them the other day of a dog named Cassius who's wearing a Batman Costume, ha ha! Well, here are the other 2 photos he sent. They were so BIG & at the time I needed a neat-o "graphic idea" for "Wacky Wallpapers Wednesday" so I decided to make them desktop wallpaper. I mean, the photos are very well-done & extremely cool. Plus, being that they are Batmobiles they are "Batman-related" so that works for me! BATMAN BACKGROUNDS: Wacky Wallpapers Wednesday!

For new readers who don't know we post 2 brand-spankin' new Batman Desktop Wallpapers EVERY Wednesday so if you would like to see more be sure to check the ARCHIVES or click the button below for more current ones. The 1st one is a nice sharp photo of a new toy vehicle from the current "The Batman" Cartoon TV Series. I think this version of the Bat-Cycle is pretty cool with the Robin sidecar. The 2nd one was mailed in by our friend named Andrew who borrowed some "World's Finest" artwork from Norm Breyfogle & got creative. Basically he took the black & white line art and then did a great job coloring it ( Thanks Andrew ).

BATMAN R. I. P. - New Comic Book Advertisement

Our friend Paul sent this image in an e-mail. He wrote, "Just in case you haven't seen this ad, it was in issue # 6 of Gotham Underground... Don't ya just hate it when they drop cryptic hints like this..." Ha Ha, Yeah, I agree that DC Comics is not being very "secret" about it. For those who have not heard, there's been a rumor for awhile that DC is planning to kill Bruce Wayne (aka Batman) just like Marvel Comics did recently with Captain America. I guess it's a gimmick that always boosts sales. Even though I hate this idea the image in the ad is kinda cool so I took Paul's picture & made it a desktop wallpaper. The 1st image is the actual ad & the 2nd one is the wallpaper...Please feel free to use it as a background in a MySpace layout or just to decorate your PC desktop. FREE Batman Desktop Wallpaper Backgrounds!

OK, It's "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" again & you know what that means, more FREE Batman Desktop Backgrounds! Now, regular readers might have noticed a few wallpapers recently that were done by our friend "Bacon". They were very popular & I was kind of surprised when he sent some more! They look really great also so I thought I would just release one right now along with one I made. That way the "Bacon Goodness" can be spread out, ha ha! He did the one of Harley Quinn (the Joker's girlfriend) & just like his other graphics it's freakin' sweet! Just wait till you see his other ones, very cool. Anyway, mine is the one below Harley Quinn & it's the NEW 2008 Hot Wheels 1966 TV Show Batmobile by Mattel. I wanted to do this one because the promo photo of this car just came out & it's way too awesome! This is gonna be the '66 Batmobile Elite that will be larger & way more detailed than previous versions. I gotta get one of these, they're extreme!! But, I do wanna thank Bacon for his awesome contributions. I plan on posting more of his stuff soon so stay tuned for that. NEW DESKTOP WALLPAPERS: Batman Animated TV Show THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD Cartoon Network

The Cartoon Network as announced that they will be doing a new Batman animated cartoon TV series called BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD. It looks like they're giving the franchise a whole new look & it will be modeled after the original comic book series where each episode they will feature a different DC Universe character teaming up with the Dark Knight. It's scheduled to be released later this year in fall 2008. This, of course, will create a whole new reason for new toys & merchandising so be sure to check with the Bat-Blog in the near future for that information...we're excited! MEGO 8" SUPERHEROES WORLD'S GREATEST TOYS Promotional Batman Wallpaper For The Mego Toy Guide Book

Up above is a BATMAN MEGO DOLL Background you can use to brighten your desktop. OK, I know it's not "Wallpaper Day" but I wanted to showcase this one because it's special. This one sort of promotes a book called MEGO 8" SUPERHEROES: WORLD'S GREATEST TOYS written by Benjamin Holcomb. It's been out for a little while now & has been very successful. Basically, it's a super-detailed guide book for all the amazing toys, dolls, & action figures made by the Mego Toy Company. If you're a vintage toy collector you would love it! Here at the Bat-Blog we have another page called "Bat-Blog Interviews" where we publish articles where we talk with "Batman-related" people. I had planned on talking with Benjamin about this book way before it came out. We even talked on the phone once. But, the interview didn't happen because of me. I even planned on doing one to be released around the time the book came out but that didn't happen either. The reason is that, during that time, I was going through a lot of personal problems & just never had time. I don't update the "Interviews Page" as much as I should because it takes a large amount of time to do the research, writing, & posting. But, I have always regretting not doing this interview as it's an extremely well-written & beautifully photographed book. OK, it's "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" again...I love this day, ha ha! For today's 2 Free Batman Backgrounds I thought I would use the graphics from the NEW Dark Knight International Movie Banner Poster & then another graphic that's a great shot of the Christian Bale/Batman with a cool TDK Bat-Symbol Logo. I know the one on top looks kinda weird but the "top & bottom" of the wallpaper is black & it blends in with my black background. Go ahead & give it a try, you'll like it!!

2 Free MR. FREEZE ( Batman Villain ) Desktop Wallpaper Backgrounds!

Oh Crap! I almost forgot that today is "Wacky Wallpapers Wednesday" so, at the last minute, I decided to post these 2 Batman Desktop Wallpapers with a MR. FREEZE theme! The first one is a special piece of graphic art done by a friend named Mark Slater ( I hope he doesn't mind me "stealing" his work, ha ha). It's a really great version of Mr. Freeze from Batman: The Animated Series. The second background is an ultra-sharp photo sent in to us by a Bat-Blog Reader named Michael. It's a Mr. Freeze action figure, shown close-up ...VERY NICE! ( Thanks to both Mark & Michael, these are great! ).

Desktop Wallpaper Backgrounds: Retro 70's Batman & The Dark Knight's Christian Bale w/ Bat-Suit

Tonight I started to panic because I just realized that it's Wednesday & I didn't post 2 brand-new FREE Batman Desktop Wallpapers, oh my god! Ha Ha, OK, Here's two that I know you'll like. The 1st one uses some cool retro-graphics that were once on the back of one of those Treasury Comics in the 1970's, a great image. The 2nd one is of the actor Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne. He's in the new Bat-Cave that will be featured in The Dark Knight / Batman movie. You also get a glimpse of the new Bat-Suit, sweet.

Since today is "Wacky Wallpapers Wednesday" at the Bat-Blog I thought I would post 2 FREE Desktop backgrounds that relate to Batman Vehicles. The 1st one is a detail action shot from one of the new THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie Posters. It features Batman on the Bat-Pod Motorcycle crashing through a window...very cool! The 2nd wallpaper is a wonderful original Vintage 1960's Family Photo sent in by a reader awhile back. It shows him & his cousin visiting the original 1966 Batman TV Show Batmobile. This must have been the GREATEST day of their lives, ha ha! I really love this picture & because it was so BIG I knew it had to be a background graphic!! A Talented Graphic Designer Designs a Special BAT-BLOG Batman Wallpaper!

Besides sharing the love of the character & the fun of collecting Batman Memorabilia one of the joys I get from doing this blog is meeting a lot of very cool people who also like Batman. And I mean people from all over the world! Some of them are really talented in some field of art or design. Here's an example: We have a friend named "Bacon" who works in graphic design. He has a really great style, sort of grunge-like. For awhile he would periodically send us a nice desktop wallpaper & then, all of a sudden, he stopped! Ha Ha, so the other day I wrote him a message & said, "Hey, where's the wallpaper?". I think he was amused by that ( hopefully so, because I meant it as a joke ). Anyway, a day or 2 later, I got this awesome wallpaper in my mail box! It uses some artwork by Brian Bolland from The Killing Joke graphic novel, a great image! I was gonna save it for Wednesday, because that's "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday", but it's way too cool & I wanted to share it now. Just click on the image up above & you'll see a larger version. Then, if you have a PC, just right-click on it & click "Set As Desktop Background". Be sure to "center" it & not use the "stretch function" as that will distort it. I wanna personally thank Bacon for sending us this wallpaper. Dude, your graphic-style is amazing & we always look forward to getting cool stuff from you, Thank You & I really do appreciate it. While trying to decide what images to use this week for "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" I came up with these two choices. The 1st one is the awesome new toy vehicle by HOT TOYS, The Dark Knight Bat-Pod & 12" Batman Figure!! I love this photo because it's such an interesting action shot. Plus, these toys are very cool! The 2nd desktop background is a new image from the production art of the new animated series coming from The Cartoon Network, Batman: The Brave and The Bold! THE JOKER : Scary Batman Desktop Wallpaper By BACON!

Our friend "Bacon" sent us another really great Batman Desktop Wallpaper to share with the Bat-Blog's readers. I couldn't wait to get it up here for you guys because it's extremely well done! Now, of course, all of the graphics he does is top notch but this one is special. He said to get the effect he was going for took a lot of extra time. I think it was well worth it though because this graphic of The Joker all locked-up in the Arkham Asylum is amazing! He looks like he is totally & completely insane!! I really really really like this one ( seeing the Bat-Signal in the window is kinda funny ). Good Job, Bacon & thanks for sharing this with all of us!

THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie Theme DESKTOP WALLPAPERS

Since this is opening weekend for The Dark Knight Batman Movie I though I would post a few TDK-Themed Desktop Wallpapers. These backgrounds should work great in a MySpace layout or just to decorate your PC desktop. The 1st one shows the Dark Knight standing all majestic in front of Gotham City. The other 2 are of the recent movie poster with Joker Playing cards & Batman's face, all jokerized! One has the design all off to the right so it won't be obscured by your desktop icons. Personally, I just got my movie tickets tonight & I'm totally excited about seeing this film on Thursday, at Midnight! It feels like I have been waiting forever & now it's almost here...yyyyeah!!

RARE VINTAGE BATMAN TOYS and MEMORABILIA COLLECTION Wallpaper

OK, Right off the bat I wanna say that the above photo is actually made into a "Desktop Wallpaper", for those interested, & it's kinda cool. The thing is, a new friend to the Bat-Blog named JR, sent me a really big photo of his amazing Vintage Batman Toy Collection. But, the picture deserves to be seen large just so you can focus on all the stuff here...it's amazing! This is an extremely impressive gathering of Bat-Memorabilia. There's a ton of vintage 60's items mixed with stuff from last week, I like that. There's also a few pieces that are extremely RARE! I spent a lot of time looking at every single clue as to what each item was & there's a lot of high-quality stuff here. What many Toy Collectors call "Museum Pieces". Oh sure, a couple of things are kinda common. We all have stuff like that because it's neat to have & you can usually find it at a garage sale for cheap. But, there's some other collectibles here that I will never get ( or see in "real life" )...unless I win the lottery! Thank you JR for sharing this pic with us. You have a nice collection to be vey proud of. Personally, I hope you send us more photos!! hint, hint.
