BATMAN, ROBIN, & BATWOMAN Bootleg Movie Ads From The Philippines!

The other day I came across a really cool website with a weird twist. It features many vintage newspaper ads for bootleg films & exploitation movies that were made in the Philippines. One is titled BATMAN VERSES DRACULA & the other one is BATWOMAN AND ROBIN. It's a shame but these movies are lost in time with no known copies to exist. Oh man, these would be really great to watch. Too bad they're lost forever. The site is called Video48 & has a lot of wacky Pinoy film history. Here's a link to check it out.

THE DARK KNIGHT BAT-POD & 1966 TV BATMOBILE CAR Desktop Wallpapers!

Since today is "Wacky Wallpapers Wednesday" at the Bat-Blog I thought I would post 2 FREE Desktop backgrounds that relate to Batman Vehicles. The 1st one is a detail action shot from one of the new THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie Posters. It features Batman on the Bat-Pod Motorcycle crashing through a window...very cool! The 2nd wallpaper is a wonderful original Vintage 1960's Family Photo sent in by a reader awhile back. It shows him & his cousin visiting the original 1966 Batman TV Show Batmobile. This must have been the GREATEST day of their lives, ha ha! I really love this picture & because it was so BIG I knew it had to be a background graphic!! We want to invite other Bat-Blog readers to send us cool pictures you would like to see as wallpapers.

Vintage 1960's Japanese BATMAN TOYS From Japan!

Here are some really great photos of some amazing vintage 60's BATMAN TOYS from Japan! The 1st photo was sent in by our friend Hans who just recently bought this Batman & Robin Japanese Jigsaw Puzzle. I seriously love the retro graphics & Japanese language...nice! (Thanks Han, cool find). The next few photos are some great examples of Japanese BATMOBILE Tin Toys (OK, The Bat-Jet is plastic. But you get the idea, ha ha!). One of them even has the original box! Ya know, sometimes these things are licensed by DC Comics & other times they are totally bootleg, but I don't care, I LOVE THEM ALL! If any Bat-Blog Readers have some photos they would like to share, of anything Batman, then please send them in today! Our "e-mail Button" is on the top right-hand side of this page, thanks!

I AM BATMAN!! Vintage Family Photo of Kid in Batman Costume

I really really love old photos like this! When I saw this one I knew it had to be published here. This little guy is a true Batman Fan! His name is Todd & this photo was taken in 1992. He was 6 years old & look at that priceless expression on his face, he's happy! This looks like a homemade costume & those are usually the best! He told us it was made by his Grandmother & that's really special. Thanks Todd for sharing this great photo. I appreciate that & the costume is way too cool!

RARE VINTAGE BATMAN TOYS and MEMORABILIA COLLECTION Wallpaper

OK, Right off the bat I wanna say that the above photo is actually made into a "Desktop Wallpaper", for those interested, & it's kinda cool. The thing is, a new friend to the Bat-Blog named JR, sent me a really big photo of his amazing Vintage Batman Toy Collection. But, the picture deserves to be seen large just so you can focus on all the stuff here...it's amazing! This is an extremely impressive gathering of Bat-Memorabilia. There's a ton of vintage 60's items mixed with stuff from last week, I like that. There's also a few pieces that are extremely RARE! I spent a lot of time looking at every single clue as to what each item was & there's a lot of high-quality stuff here. What many Toy Collectors call "Museum Pieces". Oh sure, a couple of things are kinda common. We all have stuff like that because it's neat to have & you can usually find it at a garage sale for cheap. But, there's some other collectibles here that I will never get ( or see in "real life" )...unless I win the lottery! Thank you JR for sharing this pic with us. You have a nice collection to be vey proud of. Personally, I hope you send us more photos!! hint, hint.

Vintage 1980's Batman Coloring Books I have Never Seen!!

Awhile back a Bat-Blog Reader named Jim sent us these cool photos of some recently acquired Batman collectibles. He said they're from the 1980's & he was happy to find them because he has never seen them before. I gotta admit that I don't remember ever seeing them either...how weird! There's four of them & each one has a different cover with another character. Familiar super-villains include The Penguin, Killer Croc, Man-Bat, & one character I have never heard of before, "World Destroyer"! Also, what is Hawkman doing making an appearance on the Man-Bat cover? Wow! Thanks Jim for sending the wonderful pictures. These have got to be extremely RARE! I want to invite all other readers with weird, unusual, Batman Memorabilia to send some pics today! Sharing fun, obscure, rare information about Batman toy collecting is the main purpose of this page!

Vintage Family Photo: Batman and Robin Pajamas

A Bat-Blog Reader named Joel sent us this vintage family photo that totally cracks me up! Of course I mean that in a good way but I love old pictures like this that show young Bat-Fans all happy & proud. Look at their faces, this is great stuff! I'm guessing these 2 kids just got these for Christmas & were really happy about it. Obviously we're talking about the "Batman & Robin Pajamas". Joel didn't tell us the year the picture was shot but I'm guessing late 70's or very early 1980's. Thanks for sharing the photo Joel, it's awesome! If any other readers have memories like this to share then please send them in today!

MEGO Pocket Superheroes BAT-MACHINE BATMAN VEHICLE

Shown here is an amazing Vintage Batman Toy called BAT-MACHINE! It was a special vehicle made by the MEGO Toy Company in 1980 for their line of 3 1/4" Mego Pocket Superhero Action Figures. It was a fully computer-programmable vehicle a lot like the BIG TRAX toy made by Milton Bradley Electronics. OK, I can not even start to explain how extremely SUPER-RARE this baby is but in 20+ years of super-collecting I have never seen one in the box & the loose one I seen at a toy show many years ago was totally wasted, ha ha! This one is beautiful, with the original box, & is a total museum piece!

BATMAN : SAVE OUR SNAKES! Vintage Ad - Toy Advertising

A friend of mine sent me this very cool Vintage Ad the he found in an old 1980's Batman Comic Book, 1982 to be exact. It's an advertisement for SEARS Department Stores & the fact that they carry a popular game called THE ORIGINAL MAGIC SNAKE. Which, looks a lot like a Rubik's Cube-Type Puzzle. Apparently Robin, The Boy Wonder has been kidnapped by The Joker & the clues lead Batman to the toy department of the local Sears. The advertising is one of those kind that are made to look just like the comic book you're reading at the time. When I first saw this I thought it was one of those "Hostess Cupcake" ads, remember those? I always loved them so this one was quite a surprise! Plus I really like old vintage toys so it's twice as awesome. ( Thanks Gary ). Everybody, be sure to click on the above image for a HUGE version you can actually read...enjoy!

Vintage 1960's BATMAN TOYS Collector Wants To Know...

I have a question to ask the readers of the Bat-Blog. Please look at this photo of these 2 RARE 1966 Batman "Bat Brush" Toothbrushes made by The Butler Brush Company. One is Red & the other is sort of an Aqua-Green. The question is, "Have you ever seen any other colors of this item before?". This is something that a Bat-Blog Reader named Ralph wanted to know. Apparently he wants to get one of each color & is wondering what the other ones are. Personally, I think he should be happy with one of them & send me the other one as a gift...that would be cool, ha ha! If you know of any other colors then please leave a comment down below, thanks.

Video: Vintage CAPTAIN ACTION DOLL 1960's Toy Figure & Costumes TV Commercial

OK, we have extensively featured the Classic CAPTAIN ACTION Doll here at the Bat-Blog a few times. Mainly covering the Batman & Robin Costumes that were made in the 1960's. Well, here's a really great Vintage TV Commercial showing both the doll & it's many costumes you could have bought back then. It also features the Batman figure so I thought I'd pop it up here, enjoy!

Vintage Family Photos: The BEN COOPER BATMAN Halloween Costume!

Recently I have been getting a lot of Bat-Blog Reader submitted photos of everything you can imagine that has to do with the Batman character ( I seriously love that! ). Here's a great example: a friend named Brian sent these old vintage family photos he had just very recently unsurfaced. His own explanation is more clear than I could do so this is what he said in the e-mail, "I've been archiving my parents' slides this past week and came across some pictures that I've never seen before. These are pictures of my buddies and myself playing around in costumes. The year was 1974 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. I was Batman and my friend, Pat, was dressed up as Superman. I was thrilled to find actual photographic evidence that I owned the Ben Cooper costume. I remembered having the mask but wasn't sure about the whole suit." Wow! Brian, I really really love old vintage family photos like this & the story is even better! To find these old lost forgotten memories must have been a really great experience & I truly appreciate you sharing them with us here. It must have been a total shock seeing these, I can only imagine, ha ha! Yeah, the good ole' Ben Cooper Halloween Costumes. They are really awesome pieces of pop culture history. Somewhere, at my Mother's house, is an old photo of me wearing a Casper ,The Friendly Ghost costume, ha ha...good times, good times. Thanks again for sending the cool pics...YOU ARE BATMAN!

Vintage Toy Ad: CAPTAIN ACTION Doll with BATMAN Figure Outfit

A good friend named Jimmy sent me this very cool picture of a real-life advertisement from an old vintage comic book ( Click on the above graphic for a larger photo ). It's for a classic 1960's toy called CAPTAIN ACTION! He thought I would like to share it because the ad shows the very cool Batman Outfit. Yes, thank you Jimmy, this is pretty cool! If you have never heard of these dolls, I mean "action figures", then you're missing out on a very interesting piece of vintage toy history. These were made by the Ideal Toy Company & the basic concept was that they sold these "GI Joe-sized" dolls & made different outfits you could buy separately. The "costumes" included Superman, The Phantom, Captain America, Aquaman, among others. They also had another figure, a side kick named ACTION BOY & he had suits too. In fact he was Robin, The Boy Wonder!

Mr. Anderson's BATMAN BATMOBILE TOY CAR Collection!

A Bat-Blog Reader named "Mr. Anderson" sent us some nice photos of his Batman Batmobile Car Collection. OK, He has a few action figures & bat-merchandise that are NOT Batmobiles but the main focus is the famous car. While checking out the pictures I noticed he had a black Kenner Superpowers Batmobile ( the original one is bright blue ). I asked what that was about & he said it's a car he's customizing. Wow, that's a cool idea! Overall there's some really great items here & the start of an awesome collection. There are so many Vintage Batmobile Toys out there, & also brand-new toys coming out, that you should be able to stay busy for a very long time! Thanks for sharing your collection with us, that's great! If any other readers have some photos to share ( their collection or anything Batman-related ) then please send them in to us. Our e-mail button is always on the top right-hand side of this page. Sharing the love of collecting Batman stuff is what this site is all about!

Sears Toy Catalog: Vintage 1970's Batmobile Batman Pedal Car

Oh man! I gotta say that Old Toy Catalogs are some of the very best reference material out there you can get. Here's a really great example. This is a page from the 1977 Sears Catalog showing the Batmobile Pedal Car. This thing is a beautiful piece of ART that deserves to be displayed in a museum! It's kinda funny how they show that one little kid hanging all over that lame Ferrari Race Car when we all know every little boy wants the Batman car! The other funny thing is the Batmobile only costs $39.99. Just click on the above photo to see the larger version of this picture, it's pretty sweet!
