I thought this video was pretty interesting. It's all the "cutscenes" from the JUSTICE LEAGUE HEROES Video Game. Well, this is Part One. After viewing this, & if you like what you see, then check out parts 2 thru 4. The scenes with Batman are very cool & I like his Bat-Jet...nice!

NBA Ad Campaign Parody: There Can Only Be One

Our friend Fernando made this funny graphic with Batman/Superman as a parody of all the NBA advertisements. ( We all know that Batman would win, ha ha ). He wrote,

"I've been watching the NBA Playoffs and its "There Can Only Be One" campaign, and I created a version with Batman and Superman (Christian Bale and Brandon Routh). It will be fun to see other characters side-to-side like Batman and the Joker.

Here there's info about the campaign,

"There Can Only Be One" is designed to bring to life the dedication, desire, and sacrifice that create the intense emotions and drama of one of sport's premier post-season events: the NBA Playoffs & The Finals. Save the Superman House!

I know that this post sort of seems like it's not Batman-related but it is. There's a small residential house in Cleveland, Ohio where 2 teenage kids in the early 1930's dreamed up the idea of Superman. Of course I'm talking about Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster. The original house where "Superman was born" is a total wreck. So, the SIEGEL AND SHUSTER SOCIETY was created, as a charity, to raise money to restore the house. Many major artists of the comic book industry have donated artwork for auction. They are also selling T-Shirts & other products. They are also just accepting donations. The house where Google was created is saved. The farm where Hewlett Packard was founded is preserved. And Richard Nixon's house is a museum. But the house where Superman - one of the world's most recognized heroes - was created? It's a wreck. So, with the creation of The Siegel & Shuster Society, they hope to raise enough money to repair the house and make sure it will be saved, restored, and there so you can take your kids one day. Without Superman there would have NEVER been a Batman. So, I'm asking all Bat-Blog Readers to please show your support. Let's show them that Batman Fans are the best! Vintage 1960's BATMAN TOYS and MEMORABILIA To Drool Over!

I have been covering a lot of news lately about a lot of the brand-new Batman Toys that are out there to collect & thought I'd do a post about some wonderful old vintage toys. The 1st photo is an amazing piece of Bat-History & also quite rare. It's the 1966 BATMAN BAT-WATCH by Amsco. This item is really beautiful. I mean the watch, with moving bat-hands, is very cool but the vintage graphics on the card are really great! I like the bright simple primary colors...nice! The next piece has a lot of graphic style also. It's an original bread wrapper for BATMAN BREAD! It too is from the mid-1960's. This pic was sent in by a Bat-Blog Reader named Wes who wanted to share this rare piece in his personal collection ( Thank You Wes ). The last photo is an item that is probably the most rare of all. It's a Justice League of America Rubber-Figure Set, Mint on Original Card. It was made by Multiple Toymakers 1967. The figures include: Aquaman, Superman, Batman, & Wonder Woman. One thing about it that totally cracks me up is the original retail price back then was 19 cents!! Classic DC Comics Superhero Head Knockers By Neca - Batman!

Just a quick post: One of the websites I buy bat-stuff from featured a set of three "Classic DC Comics" Resin Head Knocker Nodders of Batman, Superman, & Wonder Woman made by a toy company named NECA. They had the items "pre-listed" meaning they were not available to buy yet. Then, they never came out or were instantly sold-out. Now, they are offering another set of Head Knockers called "Classic DC Comics, Series 2". This set offers another Batman & Superman in more of an "action pose". Also, the other character they have this time is the Green Lantern. I missed the first set & didn't get to report on them because they were "not avaliable". So, I will be getting this Batman Bobblehead this time & I'll search eBay for the 1st one. The thing I like the best about these Bobble-Head Nodders, mainly the Batman Nodder, is he is dressed in the Classic Silver-Age-Style costume. It's blue & grey with the "yellow capsule" bat-belt & the "yellow oval" chest bat-symbol...awesome! Here's a link if you want to pre-order them too:

A Compendium of Cool Comics Cosplay – Best of 2013 (Part 1)

Once again it's time for our Friday comics cosplay feature, casting the spotlight on the best comics related costumery from the cosplay community. As always, we're focusing on those cosplayers who we think deserve special recognition for their hard work creating the best costumes, whatever their budget, and also the work of those photographers who capture them for posterity.

This week we're presenting a special seasonal bumper edition, spotlighting some of the best cosplay of the year. 2013 s produced some amazing costumes - so much that we couldn't pack it all into a single week, so sit back and enjoy the first part of our selection, with characters including:

New Batman Merchandise Made By NECA To Look Out For!

The other day I was trolling the NECA Website for some new Batman products. Later this year they will release 2 new Batman Items that are not "Dark Knight" movie related but will feature vintage retro-style graphics. The 1st piece of merchandise uses the most retro-thing you can have... it's a large BATMAN GOLDEN AGE 1939 COMIC BOOK COVER Hanging Fabric Wall Scroll. Of course, it's the cover to Detective Comics #27 which we all know was the very first appearance of the caped crusader! It measures about 22" X 32", which is actually kinda BIG! I'm really liking this item & think it will be a "must have"! They also have a vintage ACTION COMICS / SUPERMAN cover too. The next photo shows us some neat SUPERHERO TIN BANKS they're gonna release & one of them is Batman! The other two are Superman & Wonder Woman. These too have retro-graphics because they sort of look like they have 1980's artwork. If anyone knows who the artist is for these please let me know. I think they look kinda like Dick Giordano's artwork. Anyway, here's some new stuff to keep an eye out for & if ANY Bat-Blog Readers hear about ANY brand-new Batman Merchandise then please shoot us an e-mail so we can share. Vintage Family Photos: The BEN COOPER BATMAN Halloween Costume!

Recently I have been getting a lot of Bat-Blog Reader submitted photos of everything you can imagine that has to do with the Batman character ( I seriously love that! ). Here's a great example: a friend named Brian sent these old vintage family photos he had just very recently unsurfaced. His own explanation is more clear than I could do so this is what he said in the e-mail, "I've been archiving my parents' slides this past week and came across some pictures that I've never seen before. These are pictures of my buddies and myself playing around in costumes. The year was 1974 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. I was Batman and my friend, Pat, was dressed up as Superman. I was thrilled to find actual photographic evidence that I owned the Ben Cooper costume. I remembered having the mask but wasn't sure about the whole suit." Wow! Brian, I really really love old vintage family photos like this & the story is even better! To find these old lost forgotten memories must have been a really great experience & I truly appreciate you sharing them with us here. It must have been a total shock seeing these, I can only imagine, ha ha! Yeah, the good ole' Ben Cooper Halloween Costumes. They are really awesome pieces of pop culture history. Somewhere, at my Mother's house, is an old photo of me wearing a Casper ,The Friendly Ghost costume, ha ha...good times, good times. Thanks again for sending the cool pics...YOU ARE BATMAN!

Video: "The Greatest Fan Film of All Time" Comic Book Superhero Animated Movie

"The Greatest Fan Film of All Time" is a sequel to "Batman's Gonna Get Shot in the Face". The primary filmmakers are Jacob Drake, who animates the projects, and Larry Longstreth, who does everything from writing to producing the recording sessions and casting the roles. The film stars PAUL MOLNAR as THE JOKER, VINCE BRUNO as BATMAN, LARRY LONGSTRETH as SUPERMAN, AARON LONGSTRETH as THE HULK, and tons more. The story is really good & there are many different moments in the film that are edited, or done, extremely well. I like the "Nightwing on the rooftops" sequence & when The Joker uses his hand to "walk on top of Gotham City buildings" is pretty clever. The fan-film even makes a few references to the classic 1970's Superman Movies that you'll see right away. Also, there's a ton of superhero characters here both from DC & Marvel Comics. I guess I gotta mention that there are TV Cartoon characters as well. It seems like hundreds, ha ha! Overall, if you're a comic book fan, then you'll love it!

Confessions of a Superhero - Video Documentary Movie

Recently there was a Documentary Film I wanted to see but it had very limited distribution & I missed it. Well, I'm pretty happy to say that now it is on the Hulu website & you can watch it for free. It's about an 1 1/2 hours long & is pretty fun to watch. The basic story is about these 4 real-life people who make their living working as superheros on Hollywood Boulevard. I thought I should post it here because, besides being a very interesting movie, it has Batman as one of the characters. The four "actors" portray Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, & The Incredible Hulk. I should also add that Ghost Rider, Margot Kidder ( Lois Lane ), & Chewbacca make brief appearances. Oh yeah, I guess I should mention that since it has a slightly adult theme to it you will have to register with Hulu but it's not a big deal, you can do that in just 5 minutes.

A new friend to the Bat-Blog, named John, sent us some very cool photos of some amazing action figures he has customized.
