FUNNY BATMAN HUMOR : A Silly Halloween Costume and Bruce Wayne Comic Strip!

HA HA HA HA! OK, Here's the deal, the other day I open my e-mail & received a few really great photos from a loyal Bat-Blog reader who wanted to share these funny pics. The 1st one is a real-life Batman product that was made during the "Batman Returns movie era". It's a Halloween Costume for a little kid in the shape of "Batman riding in the Batmobile"! I mean, the Batmobile Car is attached & when the child wears the suit it gives the illusion he's driving the car, ha ha ha! I don't have this in my personal collection & will have to find one, it's surreal! The next graphic is a newspaper comic strip that features Bruce Wayne's First Batmobile ( get it? Ha Ha! ). Thank you Billy for sending these hilarious photos, I appreciate that. I wanna invite all our readers to send us stuff like this. Sharing the "Joy of Batman" is what the Bat-Blog is all about! ( As a side note I would like to say that Billy sent us some more wonderful pics that I'll share in the future so keep an eye out for those too ).

Now You Can Smell Like A Hallowench Thanks To Black Phoenix Trading Post

R021_5x2

If you've read Fashionably Geek over the years you know that we are big fans of Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab and the Black Phoenix Trading Post. That having been said, I'm pretty sure this recent update may be one of my favorites.

Why? The Hallowenches.

The Hallowenches are: Callidora (The Vamp), Lavina (The Creature), and Sylvia (The She-Wolf). Each Hallowench has her own perfume, hair gloss and bath oil with their own signature look and feel.

My personal faves are Silkybat Hair Gloss which is a sensual sugared patchouli, and the Recharging Station Bath Oil (eucalyptus petals, white mint, pink lime, and rosemary).

Plus, I think they're just adorable. Artist Aidan Casserly did an incredible job. Monster art meets pin up art is really an awesome kind of mix.

Check out more images after the break.

Something Tastes Aweful in New ‘Toy Story of Terror’ Clip

toy-story-of-terror

Your favorite toys are returning for a new adventure, and you don't even have to leave your (bad dream) house to enjoy it. ABC, Disney and Pixar are bringing the gang from Toy Story to TV in the special Toy Story of TERROR! and it looks like it promises the same mix of humor, charm and heartfelt emotion that made the three Toy Story movies very, and repeatedly, enjoyable.

The below clip comes from TV Guide and it offers a hint as to the special's storyline and some of the toy characters who play a part in the spine-tingling tale. Not to spoil anything, but it involves a missing Potato-Head, some dinosaur drama, some mysterious goo, and some wise (not to mention meta) words of advise from Mr. Pricklepants.

But why take my word for it, let's role the clip below:

Toy Story of Terror will air on ABC on October 16, and rerun on ABC Family on October 19.

BATMAN HALLOWEEN COSTUMES: The Mad Hatter and Scarecrow

Here's some nice photos from a friend on MySpace. The 1st one is a very cool costume not only because it's really well done, but because it's such an obscure Batman villian, The Mad Hatter! The next group of photos shows a more recently made Halloween costume. This one is the Scarecrow. I think the mask is extremely nice. The mouth-stitches looks really good & the hangman's noose around the neck is kinda creepy. OK, very creepy! So, this is making me wonder. For Halloween this year what kind of costume are you, the reader, gonna wear? Or maybe, another way to ask, is what Batman character have you been in the past? Please send us your favorite family photos or just comment down below on what character you might dress-up as this year. The Joker? Batgirl? The Dark Knight?

BATMAN HALLOWEEN PUMPKIN The Dark Knight Joker Movie Poster

We all remember the now classic "Teaser Promo" Movie Poster from The Dark Knight that was a brick wall with graffiti of 2 dark circles for Joker's eyes & a red Bat-Symbol for the mouth. It made a crazy "Joker Face" that let us all know The Joker was coming soon & it also gave a hint that something terrible was gonna happen to Batman ( the "red mouth" looked kinda bloody because the spray paint was running a little bit ). Well, a friend named Paul, who's an avid reader of the Bat-Blog, decided that this was the image he was gonna use for a Jack O'Lantern Halloween Pumpkin this year. So, here's what he made! He drew the design on with some sharpies & then carved a beautiful piece of ART! The finished pumpkin looks great. Thanks Paul for sharing these photos...and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

HARLEY QUINN : Batman Halloween Costume Photos

OK, It's after Halloween now & the Batman Costume Photos are flooding in, that's awesome! Here's a great example. Our friend Matthew sent us these wonderful pictures of his 2 daughters. One was a "Goth Rocker", which has nothing to do with Batman, but is a pretty cool costume, ha ha! ( Great make-up ). The 2nd costume though is HARLEY QUINN, the Joker's partner in crime from Batman: The Animated Series. Both the actual costume & face make-up are really well done. I love to see kid's all dressed-up like this. It always reminds me of my childhood & how much fun we used to have on Halloween. One year my cousin & went went trick-or-treating. Then, we rushed home & changed costumes to hit all the same houses again, ha ha! Man, we "cleaned up", ha ha! Good times, good times. Anyways, Thank You Matthew for sending us these great pics. Your daughters look really sweet & I bet they had a super-fun time. If any other readers have photos like this to share then please send them in. Our "e-mail Button" is always at the top right-hand side of this blog.

Vintage Family Photos: The BEN COOPER BATMAN Halloween Costume!

Recently I have been getting a lot of Bat-Blog Reader submitted photos of everything you can imagine that has to do with the Batman character ( I seriously love that! ). Here's a great example: a friend named Brian sent these old vintage family photos he had just very recently unsurfaced. His own explanation is more clear than I could do so this is what he said in the e-mail, "I've been archiving my parents' slides this past week and came across some pictures that I've never seen before. These are pictures of my buddies and myself playing around in costumes. The year was 1974 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. I was Batman and my friend, Pat, was dressed up as Superman. I was thrilled to find actual photographic evidence that I owned the Ben Cooper costume. I remembered having the mask but wasn't sure about the whole suit." Wow! Brian, I really really love old vintage family photos like this & the story is even better! To find these old lost forgotten memories must have been a really great experience & I truly appreciate you sharing them with us here. It must have been a total shock seeing these, I can only imagine, ha ha! Yeah, the good ole' Ben Cooper Halloween Costumes. They are really awesome pieces of pop culture history. Somewhere, at my Mother's house, is an old photo of me wearing a Casper ,The Friendly Ghost costume, ha ha...good times, good times. Thanks again for sending the cool pics...YOU ARE BATMAN!

BATMAN COSTUME: ROBIN OUTFIT, The Tim Drake Comic Book Version!!

I totally like this kid because he's so cool! This photo was sent in to us by a Bat-Blog Reader named Derek. Now, this is not him, but it's his Brother! This photo was taken in the 1990's when his Brother dressed up as Robin ( the 90's Tim Drake version ) for a Hometown Christmas Parade. The outfit is totally & completely AWESOME! When I was a little kid I would have killed to have a Halloween Costume this great, ha ha! Thank you Derek for sending this, I appreciate it a lot & please tell your Brother that he USED to be cool, but you're wondering what happened, ha ha.

Vintage Photo: A YOUNG BATMAN IN COSTUME ( With Alfred, The Butler? )

Here's a Vintage Family Photo sent in by our good friend Chip Kidd. Now, this is not "Chip when he was a small child", ha ha! No, it's just a photo that a friend sent to him because it is Batman & then he sent to us. WOW! This photo is extremely beautiful, both in subject matter AND quality! Because of the style of the Batman Superhero Halloween Costume, & the fashion of the clothing worn by Alfred, The Butler ( OK, probably his father or Grandfather, ha ha! ), I would guess it's from the early 1960's. So, the fact that it looks even older is pretty cool. I mean it looks Vintage 40's at least! Maybe it's the fact that it's Black & White or maybe because the architectural details are sort of European-looking. But the costume having the "Yellow Oval Bat-Symbol" on the chest is a dead give-away that's it's at least 1960's. Anyways, thank you to Chip Kidd for sending this wonderful photo, I really appreciate that & know everybody will love this cool pic! Now, If any other Bat-Blog Readers have similar "Batman Halloween Costume" photos then I am inviting them to send them in too!

Halloween Costume Memories: DAVE IS BATMAN!

OK, as promised here are the wonderful photos of our buddy Dave dressed a s Batman! In earlier posts we shared some pics of him in various Halloween Costumes he has worn over the years. There have been costumes of The JOKER, both "Vintage Comic Book" & "Heath Ledger - The Dark Knight movie" versions. Plus he has been Robin, The Boy Wonder! Well, here's a nice collection of Batman costume photos! In the 1st photo it looks like he wore his costume to the office one day. So, I guess, his cubile on that day was called the "Batcave", ha ha! In another pic, from around 1989, he is with a very pretty girl who was dressed-up as Catwoman ( ya gotta love that ) & in another he is shown with his "Batmobile Car". Actually it's a black Hyundai with cardboard tail-fins, ha ha! ( I totally love the creativity of that ). Before I forget, I wanna thank Dave for all the great photos he has sent us. They have all been really great & I really appreciate that. I also want to invite all other Bat-Blog Fans to send in their Halloween memories, thank you.

Just a quick post - Last night, on the crazy Internet, I found these cool Halloween masks of the Joker & Penguin. They're done in the cartoon style of Batman: The Animated Series. I think they're only sold as child-size but I'm still gonna have to buy a set of these later, they're pretty cool. Here's a LINK if you want to check them out.

Pumpkin Town U.S.A. Does BATMAN and ROBIN Theme!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! These extremely fun photos are from our friend Chris, who lives in Illinois & every year they have what they call "Pumpkin Town U.S.A.", which is exhibited for a week around the city. The theme changes every year and for 2010 they chose to do "Heroes and Villains". Then, the local High School picked "Batman" as the theme for their display. Here are just a few examples! Check out this amazing creativity, I totally love this! They have made scarecrows of the Caped Crusader, Robin, the Batmobile ( ha ha ), The Joker ( both the comic book version & Heath Ledger from The Dark Knight movie ), & Two-Face!! Well, they have not made the complete costume for Two-Face yet but they have made the pumpkin head for him & you can already tell it's gonna be very cool. I love the photo where Batman and Robin are working out on the weight bench & Batman is spotting Robin, hilarious!! Also, the Batmobile ( Riding Lawnmower ) is great stuff!! I wanna thank Chris for sharing this wonderful story with us & taking the great pics....this is fun! Plus, This is just in time to wake-up the Halloween spirit!!

BATMAN The Giant-Size Grizzly Bear!!

The Bat-Blog Batman Fan Site always strives to share all the current Batman news. Stuff like "The Dark Knight Rises" Movie, Comics, New Toys & Collectibles, the TV Cartoon, etc... but sometimes we share wacky-funny stuff. Here's a great example! This is a wonderful photo sent in by our friend Daniel. He explains, "This is a wooden bear statue outside my housing development that the management dresses up in various seasonal costumes throughout the year. For Halloween this year he was sporting a child's Batman costume (with a mask from The Dark Knight movie, guess the one that came with the costume didn't fit his snout!) how cool is that?" Oh yeah, it is extremely cool! Thank you Dan. If any other Bat-Blog Readers have fun stuff like this to share then please do. Our e-mail button is always on the top right-hand side of this page.

BATTY HALLOWEEN - The JOKER Has Gone Wild!!

I woke-up this morning to find a ton of great Halloween Costume Photos sent in by BAT-BLOG Fans who are going totally crazy this Halloween! Crazy, like the Joker! Yes, a few pics were all Joker-related so I thought I'd do one post to cover them all. Now, to be fair, I'm posting them in the order that I got them. But they're all completely GREAT in their own way. Check 'em out!

The 1st pic is our friend Paul who did a great job with the Joker make-up. I also like his pose, he looks like he is a little bit insane, ha ha ha!

Next up is a nice Family Portrait with Batman, Joker, & Robin! Our friend Lauren is the Joker & his Buddy Kman is Robin, the Boy Wonder! Great pic guys & you all look AWESOME!

Now, last but not least, is our friend Maggie. She said she found this Purple Jacket in a Thrift Store, it's perfect! What a good find! Plus, the rest of her costume & make-up is great too. Well, it looks like certain cities are gonna have to deal with the Joker this Halloween. I wanna thank everybody who shared their special photos. Posting these pics has been a lot of fun! HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYBODY!!

Lane is the Cutest Little HARLEY QUINN in the Whole Wide World!

OK, I know it's not a contest or anything, but out of all the photos submitted this year to the Bat-Blog in celebration of Halloween, this Super-Cute Costume of HARLEY QUINN has got to be the most precious one! This pretty little girl's name is Lane and, even though she's only a few months old, she experienced her very first Halloween in complete and total style! Her Mom, Jennifer, said,
"I started sewing it before she was born and had to make a few modifications when she finally arrived ( she was smaller than I imagined ). I did all the hand smocking around the neckline in a diamond pattern to be reminiscent of Harley Quinn and then accented it with tiny white pom poms. The black and white dress and diaper cover have diamond appliques and of course there's also a hood and mask, which she wore without any fuss - pretty great for a newborn!"
Yes, VERY great I gotta say! Thanks Jennifer for sharing this special event & the wonderful photos. Lane is the Cutest Little Harley Quinn...ever!
