FREE JOKER INTERNATIONAL POSTER The Dark Knight Movie

If you buy the current issue of TOTAL FILM magazine it has a Giant-Size "FREE" Poster of Heath Ledger's JOKER from THE DARK KNIGHT International Movie Poster. It's folded into 8 sections but pops open to measure about 23" X 32", that's pretty HUGE!! This is a magazine published in the UK but you can find it at better bookstores in the USA. The cost is around $6.00. Greedy "Scalpers" have been selling these on eBay for $20+. That was, until people found out they could get them in this magazine...those bastards!

NEW 2008 Batman CORGI BATMOBILES and STATUES

OK, I'm not quite sure what the deal is here but at last year's 2007 TOY FAIR Corgi was showing off their new line of Batman 1:43 Scale Batmobile & Bat-Vehicles that came with a special statue & they're not being released until now. Well, they were worth the wait! Here are the 1st six sets of Corgi Cars with the Statue Figures. We have Golden Age Batman with Red Roadster, Joker with the Jokermobile, Killer Moth, Two-Face, & 2 more Batman figures: a 1960's version & a modern-day one...sweet! Now, I'm really loving these figures/statues. I mean, when was the last time you saw Killermoth? Ha Ha! Be sure to click on the image above for a larger, more detailed, photo! New Batman Toy News: THE DARK KNIGHT ACTION FIGURES Batman & Joker

OK, We finally get to see what the Joker "Dark Knight movie" Action Figure's face looks like! Not bad, it does resemble Heath Ledger a little bit, that's cool. I'm wondering why one Joker is very realistic while the other one is sort of "cartoony". I'm sorry, these Joker pictures were sent to me without any explanation except that they are made by Mattel. The next set of photos are some different variations of Batman figures from Hyper Force. Now, I know my personal opinion isn't worth that much & I shouldn't really say this but I hate when action figure companies just "make stuff up"...I mean, "Aqua-Lung Batman with Atomic Sonar"...really? come on! But I gotta admit that the 2nd one on the top/right is kinda cool with the jet-pack & the black/red coloring.

Promo Photos: Some BRAND-NEW The DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie TOYS, Action Figures, & Statues!

These images were pulled from a Japanese site & if Warner Bros wants them taken down I might have to but here's a few promo photos for a few of the super-cool Batman Toys they're gonna make for the 2008 Dark Knight movie! The 1st two pics are a set of Batman & Joker Deluxe Action Figures. Both are really impressive but the Joker's face is awesome! He looks exactly like Heath Ledger, a good job on that! The next item is a replica-prop of the Batman Grapple-Hook Gun. Looks like it comes with a stand & I bet it's gonna be popular. It also looks to be extremely nice quality, that's cool. The last photo are a pair of Batman & Joker Mini-Busts. The detailing on all these toys/statues are pretty nice. A lot of bat-fans were kinda turned off by the variety & quality of the Batman Begins merchandise but this time around it looks like they are gonna go all out! It's the 20th Anniversary of BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE Graphic Novel Book!

It's hard to believe that Batman: The Killing Joke came out 20 years ago, this makes me feel really old! I remember when it came out (I still have my original copy). Even back then it was a very BIG deal because it was written by the famous comic book writer Alan Moore & the artwork by Brian Bolland is still extremely beautiful by today's standards. In fact, this graphic novel is ICONIC. Shown up above is the original 1988 comic book ad hyping the release of the original graphic novel, 20 yrs ago! That famous picture of The Joker has been made into T-Shirts, Posters, Banners, etc. If you have never read The Killing Joke you should because it's really an important piece of history in the Batman Comic Book Universe. Plus, it's just so incredibly well-written & drawn, a great book! Recently, DC Comics published a Special "20th Anniversary" Edition. Here's a link for more information, check it out!

I just found this really great example of some Batman-Related Tattoo Art. This is a graphic of the "Joker Playing Card" logo from the Golden Age of Batman comics. The tattoo belongs to a friend known as "Montreal_Clown" who resides in, you guessed it, Canada! I think the artist did a very good job. The colors are vivid & sharp...nice, very nice! As a side note I wanna thank the owner for allowing me to post this great pic. I appreciate that & your Joker tattoo looks awesome, a very good choice of imagery!

The Art of Marc Wolfe: Batman, The Joker, & Harley Quinn!

A friend of mine told me about an artist who must really like Batman because he has a few examples of Batman-related artwork in his online portfolio. The artist's name is Mark Wolfe & this guy is pretty talented. Here are a few examples of some graphics he did that look like real-life playing cards. I think they would make an awesome card set. CUSTOM BATMAN Toys & Statues: THE KILLING JOKE Joker Cover ( Bust ) & BRUCE WAYNE Visits His Parents ( Statue )

I just came across a very nice website that features the custom work of a small group of very talented artists. It's called HIMESIS. For this post I am showing 2 of my favorite examples which was hard to do because they have a lot of nice stuff, ha ha! The 1st piece is a small sculpture that is a bust of the Joker as seen on the cover to Brian Bolland & Alan Moore's THE KILLING JOKE. It's sort of a 3-D creation of the classic cover. It measures approx. 5" tall & is very well detailed. The next piece is another statue which shows Batman still shocked by the death of his parents, Thomas & Martha Wayne. It's based on artwork from a comic book by Jim Lee, Batman #617. Besides statues there are also a lot of custom toys, action figures, vehicles, & other art at their website. Jack Nicholson, as The Joker, Shows Support For Hillary Clinton?!

In a strange report from The Huffington Post, a very well-respected Political Blog, they featured this video of a real TV Commercial showing Jack Nicholson, in many different movie characters ( including The 1989 Batman Movie JOKER ), saying different things that relate to his approval of Hillary Clinton for President. At first I thought it was a joke or a fan-made trailer but it's the real deal. It's airing in certain cities & is kinda surreal.

The NEW DARK KNIGHT Batman MOVIE TRAILER #2 From Brazil!

Sneak Peek! OK, it's not the best quality but this is the brand-new DARK KNIGHT BATMAN Movie Trailer # 2 shown in Brazil that will be released by Warner Bros Studio in a few days ( maybe this Sunday at the WHYSOSERIOUS/HAPPYTRAILS website). We really get to hear The Joker's voice ( Heath Ledger ) a lot more in this one. There's also more of a focus on Harvey Dent ( Aaron Eckhart ) & Rachel Dawes ( Maggie Gyllenhaal ). Overall, this new movie trailer is FREAKIN' AWESOME!!

5 New THE DARK KNIGHT / BATMAN International Movie Posters

OK, I kinda take a break on Sunday & what happens? Five brand new International Movie Posters for THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie gets released, ha ha! Here they are in all their glory, enjoy! There are 3 of them that have "Character Faces" like Heath Ledger's Joker, Christian Bale's Batman, & Aaron Eckhart's Harvey Dent. There's an action shot of the Batman Bat-Pod Motorcycle flying through a window in Gotham City. ( I really love the Batpod one, a lot! ). And then there's one with all 3 faces...awesome! KUBRICK'S BATMAN and THE JOKER BRICK BEAR Action Figures!

Here's a brand new Batman and Joker Urban Designer Toy to keep an eye out for. This is a set of "Bricks Bears" by Kubrick. ( They are kinda sorta like Lego Figures, but cooler! ) These usually have a foreign release, like Japan, but should also appear in the US as well. I really love the use of "retro graphics" on both the action figures & display box. It's art from the 80's that are kinda groovy, man! The Joker figure doesn't have any eyes & that is kinda creepy! Also, I love the fact that it's the blue/gray Bat-Suit for the Batman Bear, the one with the yellow bat-symbol logo & yellow Bat-Belt...very cool! These are pretty nice and I will for sure have to have these. They will be MINE!!

Mark Hamill Who? Hear ‘Arkham Origins’ New Joker Read From ‘The Killing Joke’

When it was announced Mark Hamill would not be reprising the role of The Joker for the third Arkham game, Batman: Arkham Origins, I was sad, like I'm sure were many of you. It's difficult to imagine anyone else bringing that same sneer mixed with a hint frivolity to the voice. That was, until I heard this.

This video comes from the Batman: Arkham Origins panel at NYCC where the new Joker, Troy Baker, gave the audience a taste of what he's got. Reading an excerpt of the Joker's monologue from The Killing Joke, Baker simply kills it! (The Joker starts talking at about 2:12 mark.)

WOW. All my doubts have been cast aside! Not that Hamill has been bumped from the top spot, he's still the best Joker ever. But Baker? I'm super impressed. What do you all think of Baker's Joker? Worthy of following Hamill in the Arkham series?

THE DARK KNIGHT Merchandise & New Batman Toys Gallery!

OK, it's time again to check out some of the brand-new merchandise that's being made for THE DARK KNIGHT Batman movie! I have a theory that there will be so much cool memorabilia for this film that you won't be able to go anywhere & not see it! Just wait, in a month or 2, it's gonna be BATMAN and JOKER EVERYWHERE! The 1st example is the Scarecrow Action Figure from the Movie Masters toy line. Their stuff has been very good quality & the detailing on their action figures are pretty nice, very well-sculpted. This one of Professor Jonathan Crane in his Scarecrow costume looks great! The next item looks pretty cool too. It's the "BATTLE ZONES Playset" which is a Tumbler Batmobile Car that transforms into a Gotham City Play Set. It comes with 2 action figures of Batman & The Joker plus the "City" features 4 locations to play in. The 3rd piece of Bat-goodness is an "Ultra-Blaster Belt". It's two-toys-in-one. It's a BAT-BELT to wear & then you take it off & transform it into an "Auto-Fire Blaster". Is it gonna shoot water? Anyway, it also includes a Batman Cape! The last photo I posted for fun but it's gonna be a real set of "Dog Costumes" by the Rubie's Costume Company. You can dress-up your pooch as either The Joker or The Dark Knight, ha ha ha!

Just Released! Warner Bros put out a brand-new International Movie Poster for THE DARK KNIGHT featuring an amazing photo of Heath Ledger as The JOKER...sweet! Man, How many posters are they gonna have for this movie? ha Ha! But, I gotta admit that this one is pretty cool. ( Click on it for a larger version ).

Gothic Batman & The Dark Knight Joker Tattoo Art Photos!

A new friend to the Bat-Blog, named Carl, sent in these amazing photos of some of his recently done Batman & Joker tattoos. The 1st 2 pictures show the "Gothic Batman" art on the back of his arm. I call it "Gothic" because of the Gothic-style lettering/font used for the letter B. I also like the simple silhouette of Batman in the background. This is a very interesting tattoo, one you don't see a lot. The next one is pretty awesome also. It's a Heath Ledger Joker Face from the new Dark Knight Batman movie. It's on the top of his fist so I guess when he punches you in the face the last thing you see, before passing out, is the Joker! Ha Ha, sorry, that was my lame attempt at humor. But seriously, these are some very well-done tattoos. Thank you Carl for sending the photos, I appreciate that & I know my readers will find them very interesting. A Talented Graphic Designer Designs a Special BAT-BLOG Batman Wallpaper!

Besides sharing the love of the character & the fun of collecting Batman Memorabilia one of the joys I get from doing this blog is meeting a lot of very cool people who also like Batman. And I mean people from all over the world! Some of them are really talented in some field of art or design. Here's an example: We have a friend named "Bacon" who works in graphic design. He has a really great style, sort of grunge-like. For awhile he would periodically send us a nice desktop wallpaper & then, all of a sudden, he stopped! Ha Ha, so the other day I wrote him a message & said, "Hey, where's the wallpaper?". I think he was amused by that ( hopefully so, because I meant it as a joke ). Anyway, a day or 2 later, I got this awesome wallpaper in my mail box! It uses some artwork by Brian Bolland from The Killing Joke graphic novel, a great image! I was gonna save it for Wednesday, because that's "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday", but it's way too cool & I wanted to share it now. Just click on the image up above & you'll see a larger version. Then, if you have a PC, just right-click on it & click "Set As Desktop Background". Be sure to "center" it & not use the "stretch function" as that will distort it. I wanna personally thank Bacon for sending us this wallpaper. Dude, your graphic-style is amazing & we always look forward to getting cool stuff from you, Thank You & I really do appreciate it.
