The Japanese Make Everything Spiffy – New International Trailer for ‘Iron Man 3′

Man, everything is better in Japanese. To prove that statement, check out this international trailer for Marvel’s Iron Man 3 showing some more footage from the film and epic new music.

OK, so this is almost the same as the US version, except shorter. The only difference, really, is Pepper freaking out after the rockets, Tony destroying his armor, and some footage from Avengers. But, still, having a Japanese voice over instantly this 10x more badass. Amirite?

The footage that was shown at San Diego Comic Con seemed to indicate that the film would have a similar tone to that of the first 2, but this seems indicative of a much different film than the one they promoted. I’m sensing a very Dark Knight Rises vibe here. You know how it goes: hero is defeated, loses everything, and has to rise above all obstacles. Perhaps these first trailers are just focusing on the high personal stakes. Maybe will get trailers with more humor later in the marketing.

By the way, has anyone figured out what the hell is up with that big pink bunny in Tony’s pad?

Directed by Shane Black, Iron Man 3 stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Sir Ben Kingsley, Rebecca Hall, Guy Pearce and more. It opens May 3.
