More ‘Jurassic World’ Casting – Josh Brolin Finally Onboard?

josh brolin

The return to the Jurassic Park franchise, Jurassic World, is rolling right along and the cast is quickly filling up with faces both familiar and not-so-much familiar. And the latest potential addition appears to be none-other-than Josh Brolin.

So far no details are known other than the fact that Brolin is in talks and that he'd most likely be playing the lead. Considering he's the best known among the already confirmed cast members of Bryce Dallas Howard (The Twilight Saga), Ty Simpkins (Insidious) and Nick Robinson (Melissa & Joey), that would only make sense. Of course, Brolin has been bouncing back and forth on committing to the flick, so we'll have to wait to see where this goes.

Tune in next week for even more casting rumors revolving around giant dinosaur movies. Or just wait until June 12th, 2015 to see the damn movie for yourself.

Simon Crane in Driver’s Seat of ‘Hot Wheels’ Flick

hot-wheels

Ok, so a film based on (read: bought the rights to the name of) the iconic Hot Wheels line of toys is apparently a thing....Because Battleship clearly demonstrated how good an idea making a movie based on toys with no inherent story line is.

Legendary Pictures has signed former stuntman Simon Crane to direct the film from a script by Iron Man writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. Paul Attanasio (Donnie Brasco, Quiz Show) is also on board to rewrite.

No word as yet regarding plot, story line, or casting. However, there's some talent here-and the absurd success of Universal's Fast and Furious franchise, plus the announced DreamWorks adaptation of the Need For Speed video game series seem to imply that this could be a profitable-if not exactly inspired-piece of cinema.

‘Beetlejuice 2’ May See Tim Burton Returning to the Director’s Chair

beetlejuice

Some of you might already know and to others it may be news, but Warner Bros. is moving ahead with plans to produce a sequel to Tim Burton's 1988 hit movie Beetlejuice. And while there have been groans of pain from the general populace due to the fact that most of the original cast and crew appear to want nothing to do with the sequel, it looks as if there may be at least a small light at the end of the tunnel. If the rumormill is to be believed, Burton himself will be coming back to direct the second flick.

Burton has already been working in the background, talking to the writers of Beetlejuice 2, but now has expressed his interest in taking the director's chair. As the rumor goes, he was ready to drop out another project - Fox's Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children - but has since arranged to do both flicks. And while we still have no word on whether Michael Keaton or Winona Ryder will be coming back, Burton's presence may be enough to draw them in.

So there you have it folks, Beetlejuice 2 just might avoid turning into a pile of rehashed crap doing little other than using its iconic name to make Warner Bros. a few more bucks. What do the Nerd Readers think? Do we even need a sequel? Would a Burton/Keaton/Ryder combo actually make it worth watching?

Bruce Campbell Says Yes to ‘Army of Darkness 2′, But Should We Remain Skeptical?

104

Apparently, in real life, the boomstick is his mouth.

Bruce Campbell took to the stage at the Wizard World Nashville Comic Con on Friday, answering a direct fan question about the possibility of an Army of Darkness sequel, prompting the 55 year old big-chinned cult icon to say...

"The last one was 22 years ago. I just haven't been racing to do it. Sam Raimi is just a little bit busy making the biggest movies in Hollywood. I use to be busy. Now I'm not. That's why I'm here.

"Ash would have to stop occasionally from chasing some deadite to catch his breath. Maybe we could do that, I guess. That would be exciting. Fight in a walker. That would be all right. Hit them with my cane. Fake them out, have a fake heart attack, distract a zombie. I like it... [Seriously] All right, sir, the answer is yes."

So, the answer is yes, but the questions now shift to "when?".

Last month, Bloody Disgusting caught up with Fede Alvarez, the director of the Evil Dead remake, who said:

"The pressure is on them now. Because as far as I know, and heard, Sam [Raimi] is really determined to get Army Of Darkness 2 happening, [...] He is actually writing [it now]."

This all follows comments made back in March by Raimi and producing partner Rob Tapert that indicated that the project was in the works, meaning this may actually be on the front-burner for Raimi, but it's also important to remember the skepticism that Campbell had back then when asked about the future of the franchise by Coming Soon.

"Sam threatens this every six months, [...] I've heard this a thousand times, because in the back of his mind, he never wants to let go, because he loved making these movies. We all loved making them together. They were a nightmare to make, very difficult, but they lasted the test of time, so he's not going to let that go, and I'm never going to say 'no.' It'll be me and a walker fighting some other old guy. But that's what he does and who knows? It may happen."

Obviously, we're not privy to the evolution of Raimi's process from March to September to now, the behind-the-scenes hunger for more Evil Dead following the remake's nearly $100 million worldwide take, or whether Campbell (Raimi's long time collaborator and friend) has seen Raimi's progress for himself. We have no idea why this now seems more likely, but something made Bruce Campbell change a maybe to a yes, and that is pretty groovy.

RECAP/REVIEW: ‘The Walking Dead’ – S04E02 – ‘Infected’

nb-Walking_Dead-s04e02

The prison awakens to the fallout of Patrick's zombification in what is one of the most gruesome episodes of The Walking Dead we've seen in quite some time. 'Infected,' written by Angela Kang, shows that this season will live up to the high standard set by the premiere episode. In fact, season 4 might be better and more terrifying than season 3. (Spoilers ahead)

(I repeat here there be SPOILERS.)

Guys. Guys. We need to talk about the opening of this episode because, dear Cthulhu, was it masterful.

'Infected' opened with the perfect homage to traditional horror movies.

Karen leaves Tyrese's cell, after declining to have sex with him, and heads back to her own room. She wandering in the dark with only a flashlight when she hears a noise. The audience know it's Zombie!Patrick (Vincent Martella) and we're yelling at our TVs "Don't go that way, Karen! Run Karen!" as she searches through a dark and creepy prison bathroom to find the source of the noise.

She doesn't find anything though and goes to her room. Zombie!Patrick is awake now and hungry for brains. We think this is the moment Karen bites it (or gets bitten), but that doesn't happen for one very specific reason. Karen and Tyrese didn't have sex, so of course she can't die now. She's still "pure!"

I loved this opening. It was clever and gave the audience a little bit of levity before the horror that was to come.

the-walking-dead-infected-2

And what horror it was. We get lingering close-ups of Patrick chowing down on intestines and in a terrifying chain reaction one zombie rises after the other. The attack was frenetic and intense. You couldn't tell what was going on, who was alive, who was dead.

This was the kind of episode where you hold your breath the entire time and even when it's done, you still aren't sure if it's safe to breathe.

Even the quieter moments of this episode are rife with tension.

Carol (Melissa McBride) tends to the wounds of Ryan, who was bitten on the arm. As she prepares to amputate, she discovers that he was also bitten on the neck. Her interaction with a dying Ryan is so moving. Her compassion mixed with his fear makes the tragedy palpable.

Sometimes with this show the situations are so over the top that you lose the human element. This scene was quiet. This scene let you feel their reality. It got even more emotional when Carol brings his children in to say goodbye. One of his daughters offers to be the one to kill her father. She panics at the last minute and falls apart and Carol follows through.

This scene affected me more than Carl killing Lori. Perhaps because it was a quieter and simpler scene. As with Carl, the death of a parent sets these children up for a new path in life. They are no longer children. Later in the episode, these girls embrace Carol's teachings and take ownership of their roles as zombie slayers.

the-walking-dead-infected-3

The true horror of this episode isn't in who died, it's in the cause of the infection. The zombie virus hasn't gone airborne. It's something else. It's a flu-like virus that spreads and kills fast.

Nearly everyone has been exposed.

To contain the virus, the council quarantines everyone who might be infected. This separates Carl and Rick from Judith. The show doesn't focus much on Judith, because Little Ass Kicker's still too small to slay zombies, but she's not too small to bring more layers to Michonne's character.

When Big Ass Kicker meets Little Ass Kicker it doesn't go so well at first. Michonne appears disgusted by the baby. She refuses to hold her or even to look at her. Beth, as a member of the ever intuitive Greene family, knows that Michonne needs to let go of whatever emotional weight she is carrying. She thrusts Judith into Michonne's arms and walks out of the room. It takes a moment, but Michonne puts down her guard, nuzzles the child and begins to weep. Judith, who was in the midst of a tantrum, stops crying in Michonne's arms.

We know that "guarded" is Michonne's (Danai Gurira) middle name, but she has softened throughout the show. She has a warm relationship with Rick and Carl, so why was she so resistant to Judith? Will we be subjected the trope of "the emotionally guarded woman who lost a child" or is the story more complex?

I'm hoping for the more complex answer.

Speaking of complex, let's talk about Rick. Sheriff Rick became Farmer Rick after the events of last season. Farmer Rick has hope. Farmer Rick isn't a dick. Farmer Rick loves pigs, cucumbers and protecting his son. He walls himself off from tragedy (aka reality).

the-walking-dead-infected-4

The walls literally come crashing down on Farmer Rick when the zombies attack the fence. The attack is so forceful that the fence nearly collapses. Much like the outbreak scene in the beginning of this episode, this one is chaotic.

We do learn one key piece of information during the chaos. Someone is feeding the zombies rats.

There is no holding back the zombies at this point. The only thing left is to distract them. Rick must sacrifice something he loves - his hope for a new beginning - his pig farm.

On paper, I imagine a scene where a farmer feeds his pigs to zombies wouldn't read as emotional, but on screen, it was a punch to the gut. The anguish on Andrew Lincoln's face was so visceral. His sacrifice pays off and the zombies move away from the fence long enough for them to repair it. The fix is temporary, of course. The zombies are back at the fence at the end of the episode.

The prison dwellers have three things to worry about now: An impending zombie invasion, a spreading infection and a traitor in their midst. The episode ends with the double murder of Karen and another of the group. They were both burned alive, but by whom? Had they succumbed to the virus before they were killed? Was it a mercy killing or is someone tormenting our band of survivors?

I'm more inclined to believe it's the latter. But is it one person or a group of people?

With all of these variables out there, one thing is clear - there is no saving the prison. It's doomed.

Here's another thing to think about before next week: Farmer Rick dies in this episode and the ghost of Sheriff Rick is also put to rest. So which incarnation of Rick will we get next week? He will undoubtedly be back to a leadership role, but to what extent? How different will it be from past seasons?

So many questions. How do you think they will be answered?

The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 on AMC.

Rumor du Jour: Idris Elba Coming to ‘Jurassic World’?

jurassicworldlogo

When you cast Idris Elba in your blockbuster, the badass quotient goes by by at least 25 per cent (just look at this past summer's Pacific Rim). So keeping that in mind, do you think it's a good idea to have an Elba-inflated Jurassic World cast? Well, if you do, that's the rumor of the day, but before you get too excited, some closer scrutiny might indicate that this news will remain firmly in the realm of the rumor.

News that Elba is circling Jurassic World comes courtesy of two sites: Jurassic Park IV and Jurassic World Movie News, as well as an independent website called Acting Auditions. Jurassic World Movie News says they have a source that is "fairly close to Jurassic World's development [in] terms of the casting updates," hence their veracity in having the straight scoop. Acting Auditions, meanwhile, looks to be recruiting extras for the shoots to take place in Hawaii and Louisiana, and lists not only confirmed (0r sort of conformed) actors like Ty Simpkins and Nick Robinson, but rumored additions to the cast like Josh Brolin, Bryce Dallas Howard, and, yes, Idris Elba.

However, and this is where things might get sticky, it's entirely possible that the scheduling math may preclude any possible involvement by Elba. According to Screen Rant's analysis, Elba currently has plans to star in and produce the film Beasts of No Nation for director Cary Fukunaga. Shooting on Beasts is currently set for March 2014, which will surely conflict in some way with Jurassic World, as it will likely begin shooting sometime in early 2014 as well. Screen Rant further points out that the synopsis that Acting Auditions is using is an old one that hasn't been updated to reflect the new script developed and co-written by director Colin Trevorrow.

So this means, what? Well, if you were all excited by the headline, and seeing Idris Elba wrestle a dinosaur or whatever, maybe just cool your jets a little and wait for the official studio confirmation, which, if true, will be forthcoming in the next couple of weeks. But seriously, it's not like you weren't going to see Jurassic World anyway, right nerds?

Jurassic World will be in theaters everywhere June 12, 2015.

17 Minutes of Gameplay from ‘Batman: Arkham Origins’

Batman_Arkham_Origins

Batman: Arkham Origins releases in just four days, and to get you warmed up for its release, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released an extensive gameplay clip. The video- which showcases The Dark Knight gliding around Gotham City, beating up thugs, using some of his classic gadgets, and even traversing the Bat Cave- should set the minds of any doubters still left at ease.

Clearly, Warner Bros. Interactive was able to build on what Rocksteady perfected, and you can see that for yourself in the video below.

Perhaps the most exciting new aspect shown in this gameplay trailer is the Bat Cave, which will allow you to upgrade your gear throughout the game, and serve as the in-game hub for challenge maps, among other things. What I'm most looking forward to, though, is what is being teased at the end of the video; we see a young Barbara defending Batman to her father, who, along with the rest of the police force, isn't quite ready to trust Bats just yet. We all know how this ends up, but it should be a treat to see this play out. The only issue I noticed in this video was Batman's cape, which, while usually incredibly realistic, was sort of phasing right through him and things around him.

Be sure to put in your pre-orders so that you can get the Black Mask Challenge Maps, and, if you have an iOS device, you can check out the Batman: Arkham Origins mobile game to unlock exclusive content for the console version.

The First ‘Hobbit’ Movie Could Have Been Even Longer! Check Out These Extended-Cut Scenes

hobbit goblin king

With three movies, each of them more than two hours long, one would wonder how in The Shire Peter Jackson could manage to have even more footage that was actually cut from The Hobbit series. But, alas, some of those scenes you saw in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey were even longer. Today we bring you 12+ minutes of even more Hobbity goodness. Check out the videos below:

The first focuses mainly on certain Dwarven events taking place at Rivendell:

And the next is a longer visit to Goblin Town:

Yes, because that's all we needed - more singing and dancing and an extension of two scenes that were already way too long to begin with. Well, it looks like Mr. Jackson was right on in trimming at least some of the fat. Now if we could get him to do a proper edit for the next flick I might not fall asleep two-thirds of the way through.

Because we know that the Avatar sequels are the foremost thing on your mind these days, we here at Nerd Bastards now bring you the latest in casting news for James Cameron's money-machines.

It appears as if Stephen Lang, the guy what played the evil-bad-guy, Miles Quaritch will be back.

But wait! That's not all!

He'll be back for all three of the new flicks, despite the fact that the character died in the first film. Whether this is an attempt to make the character interesting or just Cameron's way of recycling villains so that simple-minded viewers don't get confused over who the baddie is remains to be seen.

Okay everyone, you can stop holding your breath with excitement now. Return to your normal routine of checking your Twitter and fapping.

‘Thor’-gasm! AMC Marathon and First Reviews for ‘Thor: The Dark World’

thor the dark world

It's almost time for Thor: The Dark World to grace American big screens so I guess that means people will be wanting some of the latest info. Well, we here at the big NB have gotz it for you, that's fer damn sure. As a matter of fact, we gotz the news on an AMC Thor marathon coming up, as well as the first reviews of Thor: The Dark World. Check below to discover our Thor-gasmic secrets.

In celebration of the Thor: The Dark World release, AMC Theaters is putting together yet another Marvel-tastic marathon for you to watch. You can get a triple dose of the hammer-wielding hero on November 7th at 2:30 PM by sitting your butt down for eight hours and viewing Thor, The Avengers and Thor: The Dark World. This event is happening all over the place, so just check your local theaters to see which ones have got the goods.

Next up, those damn Brits have had the chance to see our movies before us yet again. And since Thor: The Dark World has already released in the UK, we might as well have a listen to what they have to say about it. Here are a few (annotated) samplings of said reviews, courtesy the hard work of the folks at ComicBookMovie:

Digital Spy's verdict -

Despite its occasionally bipolar quality, Thor: The Dark World is a hugely entertaining and sharply written continuation of Marvel's Phase 2, combining heart, spectacle and a shrewd lightness of touch.

Empire Online's verdict -

...it's also packed with a Smegload of fridge moments, those pesky plot-holes that will keep you awake at 3am, while its grasp on science (or, as Thor would have it, magic) is fairly flimsy, with respected actors spouting nonsense about gravitons and wibblyflibs like they're in a 1950s B-movie... But the whole thing clips along at such a brisk rate - at just over 100 minutes (not including credits, or post-credit stings, or post-post-credits stings) it wraps up when most blockbusters are grinding their gears - and is so entertaining that it doesn't seem to matter.

Hey U Guys' verdict -

...Hemsworth has taken such ownership of Thor that it's difficult to imagine anyone else playing him. He is an engaging presence throughout, but it's when he is paired with Hiddleston's Loki that we get the film's best moments. Elsewhere Natalie Portman's Jane Foster is smartly given more to do without her screen time feeling forced, but it's a shame we don't get to see more of Lady Sif (Jaimie Alexander) and the Warriors Three, who are restricted to fleeting, if entertaining moments. Nonetheless, Thor: The Dark World is an ambitious, thrilling and often hilarious superhero sequel.

The Hollywood Reporter's verdict -

Amiable hunk Chris Hemsworth may play the title character in this sub-set of Marvel's meta-Avengers franchise, but this well-intentioned "witless oaf"... is practically a guest at his own party here, as scads of new characters and millions of dollars worth of CGI crowd the screen. Most of it pales into insignificance when Loki takes the stage... Although director Alan Taylor manages to get things going properly for the final battle in London, the long stretches before that on Asgard and the other branches of Yggdrasil are a drag...

/Film's verdict -

Thor: The Dark World is as funny as it is exciting. A slick balance of action, humor and comic book sensibilities. Fans are going to find so much to like about this movie, not only because it's fun, but because of its place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Besides the two credits scenes, Thor: The Dark World has ramifications that'll be felt for years to come. So while the film might not have the psychological complexity or sheer scope of the previous two Marvel movies, it's more balanced and feels weightier.

The Playlist's verdict -

The result is a film that is enjoyable in spots, but haphazard and ultimately unsatisfying... For all the good gags and eye candy, this ultimately boils down to yet another quest to find a magical MacGuffin that will stop a portal in the sky from opening... And while the hardcore geek crowd may eat that up, the rest of us need these films to distinguish themselves a little more if we're going to have one every six months.

The Wrap's verdict -

Filmmakers haven't put a lot of new ideas between Chris Hemsworth and his hammer, but there are enough thrills and laughs to keep it aloft. ...plenty of excitement and panache to make it lots more fun than the first one. This time around, we get no ticky-tacky small-town sets, and director Alan Taylor strikes just the right balance.

And Variety's verdict -

...as helmed by Alan Taylor, this robust, impersonal visual-effects showpiece proves buoyant and unpretentious enough to offset its stew of otherwise derivative fantasy/action elements.

*Update: Teaser Trailer Teaser Now Online & New ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ Production Stills

Captain America 2 Official Title Treatment

The water is starting to simmer in the Captain America: The Winter Soldier marketing pot. Yesterday there was a new movie poster, today there's two new production stills, and tomorrow there's a teaser trailer hitting.

****UPDATE****

There's a teaser for the teaser. GO figure, but here it is. Holy crap this looks good.

The first has Chris Evans and Samuel L. Jackson reprising their roles as Captain America and the one-eyed Nick Fury. Cap must be showing Fury a funny new cat video he found on the Internets. Fury is not amused, you've got to figure Fury is more into the skateboard/guy on a bike accident type of videos.

captainamericaphotonew1

The second shows Cap with a bunch of sleepy guys. I guess when Captain America says, "Take a nap." You drop everything and take a nap. Bad guys look so much cuter when their sleeping.

captainamericaphotonew2

Captain America: The Winter Soldier, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, flings its way onto theater screens on April 4th, 2014, starring Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Frank Grillo, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Scarlett Johansson, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp, Hayley Atwell, Maximiliano Hern ndez, Robert Redford and Georges St-Pierre.

New ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Game Gets Launch Trailer

4343TMNT_Screen3-noscale

Just a couple of months ago, a new TMNT game was released on XBLA, titled TMNT: Out of the Shadows, but a new game, simply titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, is being released. While Out of the Shadows was more of a fusion of the gritty comic style and the new Nickelodeon television series and featured an adventure style of gameplay, this new game comes directly from the show, sporting cartoonish art and utilizing a side-scrolling play style more akin to the classic TMNT games. Check out the trailer after the jump!

This game looks surprisingly similar to the "Arcade Mode" portion of TMNT: Out of the Shadows (NerdBastards Official Review), which makes me wonder why they would release this one so close to that one. While OotS had it's fair share of issues, it was an enjoyable game with a ton of content, and even looked quite a bit better than this one, to be honest. Nonetheless, you can check out the launch trailer below:

For those interested in picking up a copy of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, it's out now for the Xbox 360, Wii, and the Nintendo 3DS.

Feige Talks About ‘Ant Man’ and Confirms ‘Black Panther’

kevinfeige

It's the midst of all this promotion for Thor: The Dark World, it seems that we're getting a lot of news and insight about movies that are not called "Thor: The Dark World." To wit, in new interviews with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, the el hefe of all things cinematic at Marvel talks about the far future of his studio: specifically, the development of 2015 s Ant Man and the indeterminant release of a little project called Black Panther.

First, while in discussion with IGN UK, Feige talked about what we might expect the upcoming Ant Man movie to look like, and the producer called it, of all things, "a heist movie." That gets two thumbs up from me, the idea of a super-powered Ocean's 11 or The Thomas Crown Affair, because I think any other direction might look like a superhero version of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.

In other news, Feige adds that the casting of Ant Man himself should be a done deal by year's end, and that we might also expect to see a Guardians of the Galaxy trailer by the time the clock runs out on 2013 too. Check out the IGN interview below:

Next up is Feige's interview with BlackTree TV in which he discusses the actual fact that a Black Panther movie is in development. Feige confirmed it saying "we have plans to bring him to life someday," which is a cause for optimism, but is also a cause for pessimism given the "someday" timetable. Feige points out though that the concept of vibranium has already been introduced so a bit of that ground work's been laid. Here's the interview from BlackTree:

Tune in tomorrow, or perhaps even later today, for the next edition of "Kevin Feige talks about other movies that aren't the one coming out in two weeks."

ANOTHER! Marvel Lining Up The Team For ‘Thor 3′

Chris Hemsworth

Thor and Thor: The Dark World have grossed over $1 billion worldwide, and Captain America 3 is already in the works, so it's to be expected that Marvel would have only one thing to say about Thor movies.

another

The Wrap reports Marvel has hired two writers for Thor 3, Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle. Christopher Yost co-wrote Thor: The Dark World and co-wrote several X-Men comics with Craig Kyle (New X-Men, X-23: Innocence Lost, X-Force). Craig Kyle co-created the X-Men character X-23. He also executive produced Thor: The Dark World and has produced and written many animated series for Marvel.

In other words, both writers have nerd cred and have already worked on the Thor franchise. As for the plot of Thor 3, Hitfix thinks it may be time for Ragnarok.

If my sources are correct, the end of Age Of Ultron sets up a difficult situation for Thor as Midgard and Asgard find themselves looking at a possible war. Could we be looking at the beginning of Ragnarok, brought on by Loki in the guise of Odin? Could the third film find Thor having to fight against the realm that he's spent so much time defending?

Please let Thor and Heimdall team up to cancel the apocalypse.

Chris Hemsworth and Idris Elba are canceling the apocalypse 1a

Raven’s Got A Gun In New ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’ Pictures

Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique in X-Men: Days Of Future Past

Empire Magazine has been rolling out new X-Men: Days Of Future Past content all week starting with 25 magazine covers featuring the cast. Now they've released four new pictures, collected below. None of the pictures include fodder for more Quicksilver memes, unfortunately.

Note the bone claws, as in Wolverine doesn't have the adamantium yet. It's hard to tell from this photo, but that might be Stryker reflected in the mirror. Or just some random dude. Hard to say.

Empire also spoke to production designer John Mayhre about the design of the future Sentinel, which veered from the comic book Sentinels. Here's what the movie's future Sentinel looks like.

future Sentinel Mark X in X-Men: Days Of Future Past

Here's John Mayhre's explanation.

"They're biomechanical weapons. We had to come up with what would be the ultimate version that could actually, in principle, stop the X-Men. We started with this idea that they were almost made up of magnetic plates slapped over one another, imagining that the plates could contract or grow, so the Sentinel can be skinny to get through a small space or the plates can open up to become a bigger shape. So they have become virtually unstoppable."

Virtually unstoppable? If you want it to become certainly unstoppable, you know what to do...
