Blink or You Might Miss It – First Glimpse at The Hobbit’s Smaug

I’m not one to make something out of nothing, so I blame the internet for this.

A new TV spot for The Hobbit an Unexpected Journey has been making it’s way around the net this weekend, as it features our first glimpse of Smaug the dragon. You know, the big bad flying lizard that decimates lands and hoards treasure?

To call it a glimpse would be an overstatement. It’s literally nothing, just black blobs of pure motion blur.

Yet, here we are writing about it. I apologize for the lack of substance, but Hobbit mania is running wild, and who are we to rob you of seeing a black mass dart across the sky? Check out the spot below:
