‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Gets its Final Agent – Chloe Bennet

Joss Whedon's S.H.I.E.L.D. television project is underway and rumors put an airing date for next year. But before shooting begins, the show needs a cast, right? As it turns out, the top secret organization has just managed to secure its 6th and final agent. Her name is Agent Skye and she'll be played by Chloe Bennet of ABC's Nashville.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the character of Skye is "...a confident woman who is slightly obsessed with superhero culture and the shadow organizations that exist within it. She's edgy and can out-talk anyone with her unflappable nature..."

Well, there's not much to be said for character descriptions this early on, especially when every single one of them sounds like a bad cop show stereotype. Let's hope Whedon breathes some new life into them so we don't just end up watching CSI: Marvel.

Together with agents Melinda May (Ming-na), Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), Gemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge), Leo Fitz (Ian De Caestecker) and Phil "It's just a flesh wound" Coulson (Clark Gregg), the S.H.I.E.L.D. team is ready to go clean up some super hero bullshit.

Thanks to /film for the heads-up.
