Movie studios the world over are balls-deep in making super hero flicks and it doesn't look like the trend will end anytime soon. With that popularity, many actors have chimed into to announce what characters they would like to play and what movies they'd like to see made. Some of these are just annoying, but Ellen Page has what is in my opinion the best idea ever. If Page had her way, she would grab up Joss Whedon and make a Kitty Pryde solo flick.
It's already well-known that she's back for X-Men: Days of Future Past, so the character still has life and, best of all, Page is still wearing the costume. And apparently Whedon has expressed in the past his desire to make a Pryde solo flick and admits his love of the character in general. Further, Page had this to say in a recent interview:
Well, I'm available! [Laughs.] I love that. Kitty Pryde's awesome. I'm super grateful to be the actress who's gotten to be her, and you only desperately hope that the true fans who have a right to demand what they want and who have been passionate about these stories for a really long time, that you can pull it off for them. I would be so thrilled to play Kitty Pryde again. I really would.
Of course, the idea of Whedon crossing the Marvel/Disney border and jumping in bed with Fox and their X-Men franchise is highly unlikely, so there's pretty much zero chance we'll see the almighty Whedon put this kind of project together. But maybe we'll get lucky and someone else with talent will jump on it?
I've got one better for you Fox, if you happen to be listening - Kitty Pryde and Nightcrawler tag-team movie. Yes, that would be my ultimate fanboy dream come true.
Thanks to /Film for the heads-up.
