TOYS FOR TOTS - You Can Help Make Some Child's Christmas a Great One!

Well, it looks like the Holiday Season is upon us again, arrgghh! But here at the BAT-BLOG.COM we plan to make the best of it. Every year, around Christmas, we always support a wonderful Children Charity called TOYS FOR TOTS! We collect toys all year to donate and then try to get the word out about this really great organization. So, please be sure to tell all your friends about it. You can re-tweet this post, share it on Facebook, or just call your friends on the phone & tell them about it!

TOYS FOR TOTS is run by the United States Marine Corp. They have drop-off boxes located at many different locations where you can donate new un-opened toys. It's so easy to do and you'll really fell great about it. Plus, the important thing is it will help create a special moment for some kid who is going through hard times. Who knows, YOUR donation might help change a child's life for the better!

For more information please click here, TOYS FOR TOTS, and also please remember to share this information. Getting the word out to as many people as possible and getting as many donations as we can is our top goal. If you think you can not drop off a toy at your favorite location then please make a monetary donation at their website, every bit helps. Thank you.

Batman-Themed Christmas Holiday Gingerbread Cookies Art

"Striking gingerbread fear into the hearts of holiday evil-doers!!!" The other day I got an e-mail from a Bat-Blog Reader named Chris who wrote, "I hate Christmas stuff, my wife loves Christmas stuff. Knowing I'm a huge Batman fan she tried to keep me interested this year by suggesting that our family gingerbread decorations be Batman themed. It worked!" Wow, it did work! Chris sent me a link to his newly created website where he & his wife share their gingerbread cookie creations that are all Batman-themed. There are a ton of different characters & it was actually kinda hard to pick a few examples ( like the ones shown here ) but they are ALL really amazing! I like that they did a lot of obscure characters & not just the main-stream ones. But, they did those too, ha ha! There's no way for me to show all the ones they did so you will have to visit their page to see them all. Chris, thanks for sending the link, & tell your wife she's a very talented smart woman!

BATMAN as SANTA CLAUS Holiday Christmas Graphics

A friend to the Bat-Blog sent these very cool "Batman as Santa Claus" xmas pictures he wanted to share ( Thanks Kevin ). He explains that he "loves both Batman & Christmas" and that he got these images in a portfolio of Bruce Timm's artwork. Timm, of course, was the director & designer for Batman: The Animated Series. That's why these graphics have a "cartoon look" about them...they're AWESOME!

Video: SANTA CLAUS Appears on 1966 BATMAN TV Show - Merry Christmas!

The Bat-Blog wishes everybody a HAPPY HOLIDAY! Old Saint Nick himself made an appearance on the 1966 Batman TV series on December 22, 1966 in an episode titled "The Duo is slumming". It was one of those "special guest" moments where, while Batman & Robin are climbing up the side of a building, a person pops their head out the window. Santa Claus was played by the wonderful character Actor Andy Devine ( Thanks Jackie! ).

Darth Vader Makes For An Awesomely Ugly Christmas Sweater

This is what you’ll see all the Sith Grandmas wearing to Christmas dinner. It’s a holiday scene of Darth Vader decorating his X-Wing and TIE Fighter covered tree, complete with Santa hat. He’s even got lightsabers to set it all aglow and a lovely Death Star tree topper. It’s hideous and wonderful all at the same time.

Christmas Gift Idea - BATMAN PIGGY BANK Spotted at Wal-Mart

Here's a silly item that Batman Fans in your family might enjoy, a BATMAN Ceramic Piggy Bank! This fun photo was sent in to us by a Bat-Blog Reader who was excited about a recent find. He said he bought this at his local Wal-Mart for about 10 bucks. Hey, that's a good deal!

BATMAN TOYS and GIFT IDEAS For Stuffing Inside That Christmas Stocking

While looking at some recent photos I have collected to report on new Batman Merchandise I noticed that all of these are kind of small in size & would make perfect "Christmas Stocking Stuffer" ideas. Well, the 1st item is a total no-brainer as it is already "Holiday-related". This is a large-sized BATMAN Candy Cane with great packaging, the graphics are awesome. I found it at Toys-R-Us for about $2.00.

Next, is a fun new item I spotted at a Family Dollar Store. It's an extremely nice set of PVC Figures of Batman, Robin, and The Joker. They measure about 2" tall & you get 3 per package for $5.00, not bad. The quality is really nice. They also have 3 different sets. There's one that has 3 figures that are all Batman, in different poses, and another one that has Batman, Flash, & Green Lantern. My photo shows them as they appear on the back of the box.

Last, is this fun BATMAN and TWO-FACE Bath Foam Set. I came across these at a Dollar General Store for only $4.00. Now, I'll admit they are kinda dumb but I totally love the graphics on these. Plus, later these sort of items will not really appear at Garage Sales or anything because people who buy them will use them up & throw them away. So, if you want one for display, grab it now.

Have YOU come across any brand-new pieces of unusual Batman Toys or Memorabilia? If so then please let us know, our e-mail button is always located at the top right-hand side of this page, thanks!

Nerd Bastards 12 Days of Christmahanakwanzika – Day 12

While the flux-capacitor hasn't been perfected, and we can't help you fix any past holiday humbuggery, maybe we can help you get this holiday season off to a good start.

For the next 12 days (Dec 1st-12th), the staff of Nerd Bastards will be listing a few of their favorite nerdy things. Gadgets, doohickeys, thingamabobs and more - all sorts of items that have been Nerd tested and Bastard approved. Basically, stuff you want, things you need, and everything you can't have.

We hope you'll find some unique and nerdtastic gifts among our selections, and that they make their way under your tree, Menorah or Kwanzaa bush.

Hit the jump for Sam Sakura’s list of Nerdful things. To see archive of this feature, click HERE.

When decorating your tree this year don’t forget the reason for the season, Cthulhu. This adorable little guy can be yours for only $7.49. It’s a small price to pay to honor our mighty overlord. Available at NeatoShop.

People who smoke pipes and are not douchebags are a dying breed. I like to think because I am a nerd and a woman I couldn’t possibly be a douche, especially when smoking such a fine replica of Gandalf’s pipe. Known as the “Wizard” available from Macqueen Pipes, each pipe is hand crafted of either Ash, Cherrywood, or Briar Wood. No self respecting wizard should be seen with out it.

Ever wanted to fight the rain like a warrior? Well you can’t, because that statement doesn’t make any sense. You can however, look like a total badass with any of these Sword Umbrellas. Samurai Sword available through Think Geek

Many of you may suffer from the same issue as myself, I refuse to grow up. Fullmetal Alchemist will always have a place in my cold little heart. As it was one of the ways my brother and I used to spend our time together when we were young.. This is the only item on my list I actually own and I am not ashamed to say, as a 26 year old adult I still wear the pendant all the time. The pocket watch features the inscription on the inside that says ” Don’t Forget 3.OCT.10″ An awesome gift for any FMA fan. Get yours Here

As an avid player of MTG I want this more than I want air. I can just picture sitting down at the card table with the rest of my brood and slamming this big ol’ bitch down on the table. Oh, you wanna roll to see who goes first? Feel my wrath. If you’re ready to drop $85.00 bucks this lovely 20 sided die can be yours. Get it from Etsy.

It’s the one that says Bad Mother Fucker… I don’t know how nerdy this is, but who doesn’t want to own Jule’s wallet from Pulp Fiction? Made of Italian Leather each one includes Jule’s calling card. Available from BadMoFoWallets.

Never have to pass the pepper again, just wind up these cute little fuckers and they’ll walk themselves across the table. The pair can be yours for a reasonable $15.00 from ThinkGeek.

It’s no secret to those around me that I survive on alcohol, nicotine, and caffeine. As I write this I’m smoking a cigarette and drinking a glass of wine. God, I love booze. Wait, what were we talking about? Oh right, being healthy! Feeling under the weather? Hearts empty? Slam one of these bad boys and you’ll defeat your enemies in no time. Get one (or more) at ThinkGeek.

Not as strong as the actual force, but a hell of a way to waste time and exercise your brain. If you have the patience and a desire for another useless talent (I KNOW I DO!) then this might just be the gift for you! Available for dirt cheap at Wal-Mart.

Oh God, oh yes, please God. I want this more than I want air. And for only $2,950.00 you could buy me this. Oh, it doesn’t work that way? Shit. Well with over 5,000 pieces this is sure to keep some lucky bastard in the basement until spring. Not that we can afford it, but it’s available on Amazon.

This Ugly Transformers Christmas Sweater Is Actually a Sweatshirt

The ugly Christmas sweater has secured its place as an official Christmas tradition, but what of the lowly sweatshirt? Is it not worthy of some ugly Yuletide adornment? This sweatshirt is a perfect example of just how ugly they could be, with a pair of Transformers nutcrackers and a bunch of white snowflakes. Wear this to the office holiday party and start a whole new tradition.

Krampus Sweater To Scare The Kids Into Behaving This Christmas

Folklore is full of all kinds of wonderful creatures. The Krampus is not one of them. This guy is from German folklore and he’s a demon thing that kidnaps naughty kids, stuffs them in a sack, and takes them back to his lair for dinner. Isn’t that just the most heartwarming Christmas story, ever?
