Second ‘Oblivion’ Trailer Ditches The WALL-E Overtones For More Olga Kurylenko

Some people don’t want Morgan Freeman to narrate their life. Sometimes, persuasion is necessary.

Universal released the second trailer for Oblivion, starring Tom Cruise and directed by Joseph Kosinski (Tron: Legacy). It’s a definite improvement on the first trailer and the TV spot. In this trailer, unlike the first one, Tom Cruise doesn’t seem like a reverse WALL-E stripping an abandoned Earth of resources. Now we’re getting an idea of the plot, wherein a man with a damaged memory meets an eerily-familiar and gorgeous survivor (Olga Kurylenko) on a supposedly-abandoned Earth. And we can’t let this paragraph end without mentioning how disappointed we are in Urban Dictionary for not describing any sex position as a “reverse WALL-E”. Get it together, internet.

Oblivion opens in IMAX theaters on April 12th, then opens wide April 19th.
