Fan fashion always earns extra points in my book when it's subtle and still recognizable. For example, I really like this 221B Knit Beanie by knitter Sami Brooker.
To the regular eye, it's a cool knit pattern with a happy face, but to the Sherlock fan it's so much more.

This Despicable Me minion ring box is the latest creation by Paul Pape. It's a fantastic representation of the little yellow guys, but you have to wonder what the guy that pops the question with this particular ring box has in mind. Is he looking for a life long partner, or is he just recruiting minions so he can take over the world?

Artist perdita00 puts an abstract, timey-wimey spin on Doctor Who with this Mondrian-inspired tee.
As her description of the tee says: "The Doctor dropped in on Piet Mondrian". It would explain his love for TARDIS blue.

Just like every other piece of medical technology, prosthetic limbs are constantly being examined for improvements. Industrial designer Kaylene Kau came up with a new approach to the design for arms and though it doesn’t look natural upon first glance, it makes sense.
The arms are like tentacles; they can curl around objects and pick them up. It means improved dexterity and grip – at least for bigger items – but it’s easy to see that it also less material than most prosthetic limbs. The motor that controls movements is housed in the upper part and cables travel down to the extremities. This streamlining means fewer parts which means the arm is cheaper to product and maintain. That’s a win for everyone. Plus? It looks neat and functional.
Practical as it seems, it hasn’t caught on yet (Kau’s design is from 2010). It might be too out there for those who have suffered limb loss though since it doesn’t exactly blend in. Perhaps having a prosthetic hand like Luke Skywalker would be more preferable.

Adam Savage of Mythbusters has a Blade Runner prop replica gun (like you do) and decided it needed an epic box for transportation and display. Savage already has an affinity for boxes and cases, and he wanted this box to be stylized and include artifacts from the Blade Runner and Alien universe. Tested goes behind the scenes to watch him build it in a day.
The finished product is beautiful, and it’s fun to watch it come together. I never tire of watching people make stuff.

These sketches show some beautiful, almost ethereal gowns and they were each modelled after a different Pok mon character. DeviantArtist Fritz Gebhardt is currently studying fashion design and made the illustrations after being inspired while playing Pok mon White. I would just love to see these designs come to life in a group cosplay.

The Infinity 2.0 dress is truly one-of-a-kind, and not just because of its totally futuristic design or its revealing nature. In fact, the dress gives away more than just its wearer’s cleavage. It also reveals when she’s feeling turned on and aroused, not just to her date but to the whole world. How? By turning transparent.
In between the dress’s leather ribbons are opaque ‘e-foils’ that are wired to detect the wearer’s heartbeat. The faster it beats, the more transparent the dress gets. Talk about not being very sublte.

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “good things come to those who wait.” Yeah, it’s a cliche – but this watch is making it literal. The design from Mr. Jones Watches has a hidden message on the face that only reveals itself as the letters slide into place once an hour.
If you’re too impatient for that design, the company has also released a watch inspired by a phlox flower. It forms the flower at certain times during the day, but the rest of the time it looks like a beautiful kaleidoscope image. Floriography – “the Victorian system for ascribing a specific meaning to different flowers” - influenced this watch so it also has an engraving on the back.
Both watches are limited to 100 pieces.

You can order it unfinished and dremel out the eye holes and do finishing yourself or pay a bit more for a ready-to-wear version. A combination of waxes, metal rubs and airbrushing create the realistic metal suface and weathered details.
