The other day a friend turned me on to a website of an artist who makes some really great artwork. Her name is Elizabeth Garvey & she has a lot of style! Shown here are 2 very primitive-looking handmade dolls of Batman & Robin that are extremely cool. I love the homemade quality of them & the fact that they are not perfect. A very cool website called CUBEECRAFT has done some amazing BATMAN paper toys that everyone can make for free! The website features "Action Figure" Cube Toys you can download, print, & then make. So far he's done 2 versions. There's one that looks like Batman from the 1966 TV Show, Adam West. He also made one that looks like Batman from the Batman Beyond animated series. Also, at the website, there are Cube Toys of Indiana Jones, Hellboy, Pee Wee Herman, The Rocketeer, Mario, Ironman, & many many more! Eatable BATMAN Chocolate Action Figure!!

This afternoon I received an e-mail from a nice girl named Antya who wrote, "I'm a chocolate crafter & a few weeks ago my friend asked me to made a chocolate treat for her boyfriend who loves Batman so much...Here's the pictures!" Wow Antya, This is a really neat idea & the figure looks cool! I also like the original box you made. It looks like a "real product" you can buy in stores, ha ha! CUSTOM ART CRAFTS: The Dark Knight Joker Plush Rag Doll & Batman Collage Art Purses

Recently, a Bat-Blog Reader sent us some photos of some crafts she's made & some that she is working on. She made some Batman-themed Dresses that I featured in another posting. ( Just scroll down a little or check the Bat-Archives ). She also made some of the items posted here. The first photo is a really cute JOKER / HEATH LEDGER Plush Rag Doll. This was one of my favorite pieces because it's so funny. When you look at the details it's pretty accurate to the character & it has a very silly irony to it. I'm not sure if "irony" is the right word to use but what I mean is that the actual movie character was so extremely dark & scary and this doll is cute & lovable...complete opposites. I don't know, I thought the juxtaposition was humorous. Plus, it's just very well done & the materials look like they are really nice quality. The next items she made are very cool too & for the male readers who are kinda skittish, please check it out anyway. The next photos show a purse that was completed ( both sides ) & the last photo is one she is working on now. The completed one features Christian Bale as Batman with the actress who played Lois Lane on TV's Smallville. Sort of a strange choice but she loves both characters so that's cool. Plus there's kind of a "humor thing" going on there so let's just go with it, it's fun. It's a collage of magazine photos. The back features 2 large photos of Christian Bale & The Dark Knight...very nice! My wife collects purses & would completely flip-out if she saw these, ha ha! The last pic is of a purse about 1/2 way done. This creation features both the Batman & Joker ( Heath Ledger ) and so far looks really cool. Let's hope she sends us a photo of the completed item ( Hint, Hint ). Anyways, sorry to go on forever but this is some great stuff & I love when Bat-Fans get creative so if you're working on any Batman-related projects ( Custom Action Figures, Crafts, Painting, Dolls, Drawing, etc...) then please send them in to us to share. NEW Joker, Robin III, & Two-Face Paper Craft Toys From Cubeecraft

Over at the Cubeecraft website they just released a few more Brand-New Batman-related Paper Craft Toys you can make for fun! The 3 new ones include The Joker ( Heath Ledger / The Dark Knight movie version ), Two-Face ( More of a comic book style ), and Robin III ( modern comic book ). All you have to do is download the PDF file & print on your PC's printer ( use card stock for better results ). While there keep an eye out for 2 different Batman Figures. One is the 1960's TV Show version ( Adam West ) & the other one is Batman from the Batman Beyond cartoon ( Both of these were featured in a separate Bat-Blog post awhile back ). Classic Batman THE JOKER Paper Craft Toy!

We reported awhile back about a website where you can get some awesome "Vintage-Style" BATMAN & ROBIN Paper Craft Toys you can download & make. Well, now they have made a JOKER one to go with them. Basically it's a free PDF file you can send to your PC's printer ( or e-mail to Kinko's Copies ) & then cut-out to assemble. I think the artist did an amazing job capturing all the small details. The toys look pretty cool & while you're there be sure to check out the many different designs they have. But I gotta warn ya, these Paper Craft Projects are totally addictive!

THE BATMAN BATHROOM Wacky Home Improvement

I got a lovely e-mail the other day from a friend over at Facebook. Her name is Billie & she said she decorated her bathroom in a Batman-Theme. She asked if I would like to see it & I'm like, "Heck Yeah!" Well, the Bat-Room is even better than I thought it would be! A friend of hers gave her some old Vintage Wallpaper that has a 1970's DC Comics Superhero motif. She only had enough to do one wall but it still looks great! She also custom-built ( or her friend did ) these 2 Batman Towel Racks...how AWESOME are those?! There's even a few Batman things laying around like Bat-Soap, Bat-Shampoo, Bat-Rug, that kinda thing. Plus, another of her creative friends painted the door with a skyline of Gotham City & the urgent Bat-Signal...WOW! Thank you Billie for sending us these wonderful photos. This is the coolest bathroom I have ever seen, seriously! As a side note I wanna let my readers know that the 4th photo of the "Superhero Wallpaper" is actually a "Desktop Wallpaper" you can use as a background. So, click on that to open it, then save as wallpaper, & Bam! You can have some of her wallpaper on your computer!

Etsy Artist Creates BATMAN, THE JOKER, & HARLEY QUINN Hand-Made Plush Dolls

I met a new friend the other day who's a very talented artist. She loves Batman & also likes to create arts & craft projects. In fact, here are a few examples right here. Check it out! She knitted these character plush dolls by hand. I mean, the knitting must have taken hours, if not, days to make. Here are BATMAN, THE JOKER, & HARLEY QUINN!! They each measure around 15" tall & the last photo shows her with one of the dolls for scale-size. I knew my readers would love seeing these & she was kind enough to send some great photos. BATMAN-INSPIRED ART - Arts and Crafts Project

I love when creative people become inspired by Batman & make a few items to decorate their house with, that's cool! Here's some photos sent in by a Bat-Blog Fan named Ben showing a few things that he & his Girlfriend have crafted. The 1st one shows a Batman Effigy Pot they made. Now, I think this thing is totally cool visually but I was wondering, "What is an Effigy Pot?". So, I did some quick research & found out that "Effigy Pots are Jars, Bowls, Bottles or Vessels made in the shape of humans or mythological figures. They have been made for 1000's of years & are thought to have healing powers". Cool! I guess some Bat-Blog Readers are gonna learn a little Art History today, I did, ha ha! The next item is something most of us are pretty familiar with. It's a large Stained Glass Window piece & this one has a beautiful Bat-Symbol Logo on it. To be specific, it's the one from the current Christopher Nolan movies ( Batman Begins & The Dark Knight ). This thing is awesome! I bet if this were hung somewhere that sunlight could shine through it it would be really striking. Actually, both items are really really great & I want to thank Ben for sending these pics into us. You guys made some very cool stuff!

Chart The Stars On Your Scarf [DIY]

One of my goals for this year is to learn the names and locations of more constellations. I think I’ll help myself remember them by putting them on a scarf. You read that right.

The craft from Katie of A Beautiful Mess is creative and cool. It looks simple too – you just need a scarf, some craft foam, fabric paint, embroidery floss, and a few other basics. I recommend getting a large scarf so you can plot all of your favorites.
