HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! Vintage 1966 Batman Valentine Cards!
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY EVERYBODY!! A loyal Bat-Blog Reader sent us these great photos showing some very cool Vintage 1966 Batman Valentine Cards made from around the time of the old '66 TV Show. The artwork is totally beautiful but the neat thing, from a collector's point-of-view, is the picture of the actual Valentine Box Packaging the cards originally came in...sweeeeeet! ( My favorite graphic is the one with the Batmobile Car racing towards you, VROOOOM! )Thanks Mark. Oh yeah, Mark runs a very interesting website that's all about his line of comic strips called Andertoons. You can check it out by clicking HERE!

BATMAN BEYOND FAN? You're Gonna Love This!
Our friend Kai sent us this cool digital-drawing he did recently. It's a beautiful piece of art showing Terry McGinnis from the BATMAN BEYOND Animated Series. It's a mash-up of a few graphics added with his own art techniques. I've always loved that cartoon so seeing this is a rare treat, thanks Kai!
Brand-New BATMAN Ceramic Coffee Mug!
Here's an item I spotted over at "Superhero Stuff" the other night & thought it was worthy enough to pass along. I like the 1980's retro-style artwork. It looks like they're starting to carry a Batman Ceramic Coffee Mug. So, I guess if the mugs turn out to be a good product then maybe we'll see more. I have a few & have always loved to drink out of them. Of course, I am a pretty cool guy! ( Ha Ha! Just kiddin' ) Anyways, here's a link down below if you want one:

Dave Meets Neal Adams - The Famous Batman Comic Book Artist!
Here's a cool pic sent in by our good bat-friend Dave. He got to go to a Comic Book Convention in New York City & met Neal Adams. Yes, THE Neal Adams! Neal is extremely famous for his work on Batman comics in the 1970's. He is even still working on the Dark Knight character today. Right now, he is writing and drawing a HUGE Graphic Novel Project called BATMAN: ODYSSEY. We can't wait for that to come out! Also, I wanna say thanks to Dave for sending the cool pic plus I am totally jealous you got to meet the Legendary Neal Adams ( Jealous! ).
Johnny's CUSTOM BATMAN & ROBIN GI Joe Doll Clothes
This is a really nice story. Here's some pics sent in by a Bat-Blog Reader named Johnny. When he was a little kid, back in the 1970's, a lady who was a good neighbor made him some Batman & Robin clothes for his large 12" GI Joe Dolls. They were made to sort of be like the Mego Superhero Figures we all know & love. Well, out of sentimental reasons he has kept these outfits for all these years. Later, he got some large dolls to display the mini-costumes as a way to remember her ( she recently passed away ). Now I think these clothes are just totally wonderful & she did a great job on them. OK, I know that they're not totally perfect or completely accurate but a lot of goodness & love went into making them. So for that reason they're really special. Plus, they actually are pretty cool! Thanks to Johnny for sharing his nice story & pics.

Adorable Levi From “Attack on Titan” [Cosplay]
This little cutie was spotted at Comiket dressed as Levi from Attack on Titan. His costume was made by his parents with Dad, twitter user TOMYkoubou, constructing the accessories and Mom sewing his jacket. Upping the cute ante, Dad had the same costume and together the amount of Kawaii in these pictures is almost too much to handle!
See more pictures after the break...

This Konami Code Tattoo Means You’ll Never Forget It
FG reader Kevin Pacheco tipped us to his nerdtastic Konami Code tattoo. He desgned it himself, with buttons and cross pads scaled to original NES controller size. He got inked by Deirdre Doyle @ Chameleon Tattoo and Body Piercing
Kevin writes:
You can always tell when someone remembers but doesn't quite remember this code. They're usually the first to blurt out that I'm missing "select" in the string, to which I must remind them that "select" only works when you're playing Contra and you are playing with a 2nd player. No 2nd player? No need for select (which incidentally, can be entered at any point in the code, not just at the end before start). Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.
Kevin, I'm gonna admit it now and say that I may have to keep a pic of this tattoo the next time I can't quite remember the code myself.

Thor Kitty is Not Afraid to Use His Tiny Mjolnir [Pet Cosplay]
If there's a kitty version of Valhalla, then Tumblr user sparkysmachine's adorable cat, Sir Didymus, shall rule the realm as a mighty warrior kitty. Not only does Didymus' swag all look legit, but apparently all of his accessories were created using a 3D printer. Pretty cool stuff!

There Be Dwarves in Barrels & a Bilbo in Smaug’s Eye in Latest ‘Desolation of Smaug’ Promo Images
As of now we're about four months away from the December 13th release of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, part two of Peter Jackson's latest trilogy set in Middle Earth. With the date nearing it's only a matter of time before we're up to our ears in dwarves, wizards, and hobbitses. Oh! And one giant dragon.
Setting the tone for the promotional surge to come are these two images discovered by TheOneRing.net, who point out that judging by their highly stylized look we'll likely see these images on, "toy packaging, calendars, Facebook photos, desktop backgrounds, [and] board games." Basically, anywhere you look in the coming months will have something Hobbit plastered on it.
For an early look at The Desolation of Smaug's marketing blitz imagery, hit the jump.

Opening in 3D, 2D and IMAX theaters on December 13, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is the second in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece "The Hobbit," by J.R.R. Tolkien. The film continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.

‘Game of Thrones’ Rumored to Have Recast [REDACTED] for Season 4
Don't fret, it's not anyone to whom you've become extremely attached. At least, I wouldn't figure. Not yet, surely. And besides, at this point it's still technically a rumor, though one Winter Is Coming seem confidant enough about to share.
And since this recasting rumor will SPOIL upcoming developments, I'll include it beyond the cut.
...
...
...
...
...
...
Okay, here's the scoop. Winter Is Coming's source has told them Tommen will be recast for Season 4 of Game of Thrones. Yup, that little Lannister right there,
I thought I'd provide some visual assistance since having not seen little Tommen since the penultimate episode of Season 2 you may have forgotten who he is. He's been portrayed by Callum Wharry up until now, but come next season he'll be played by Dean-Charles Chapman. It's thought the production was interested in hiring a more experienced actor as Tommen will have a larger role to play in the coming season. Why's that you ask? Well, why do you think Tommen, second in line to the throne, would suddenly become more important? Yeah...
Anyway, so Wharry's out and Chapman's in. Good thing too, because Chapman already has plenty of experience playing a young noble in Middle Ages Britain or its fantasy counterpart. He's already appeared in Game of Thrones as one of the young Lannister squires murdered by the Karstarks and in BBC's and Starz's The White Queen as one of the infamous Princes in the Tower. Hmm, so, he's got a track record for playing an innocent pawn in the power plays of royals. That's nice. Hopefully his turn as King won't be turn as deadly (but considering what land he'll be King of, he'll never be truly safe, will he?).
Any thoughts on this casting development?

Nerdy Bits: Mega-Meat, Mark Hamill as the Emperor, Epic Batman Suit of Armor and MOAR!!!
Every day the internet produces an astounding amount of goodies and gems. Most hilarious, some amusing, but all worth at least a few seconds of your time. We here at Nerd Bastards try to bring you the best bits of news and nerdery the webz has to offer, with a bit of snark thrown in. But sometimes not everything makes the cut. Monday through Friday we'll be bringing you our inbox leftovers, our forgotten bookmarks, the nerdy bits that simply slipped through the cracks. You can submit items to Nerdy Bits by emailing us at nerdybits@nerdbastards.com.
ABOVE: The butcher at a Uwajimaya supermarket in Seattle is clearly a Mega Man fan. I would find this mega-awesome if ground beef's resemblance to worms didn't squick me out so much. [Obvious Winner]
Oh dear god. If someone tattooed the one ring inscription on me UPSIDE-DOWN I would throw them into the fires of Mount Doom. [Geekologie]
Can you imagine how awesome a Medieval Batman would be? Nearly everything on this scalemaille suit of Bat-armor was handmade by Etsy seller CreationsChristopher. The suit weighs 60 pounds and took over 350 hours to complete. It's obviously pricey, but how could any Batman fan say no to a one of a kind piece like this?
TARDIS console cakes are pretty rare, in fact, I don't think I've ever seen one before. This cake is even more special because it's the 8th Doctor's console! This cake was part of the extreme nerd wedding of geeks Justin and Clara that also included a Portal cake and a Harry Potter themed venue map. That's Nerdalicious has more images from the event.
Wow. I am pretty sure you'll find every classic gaming character in this mosaic - which, by the way, is made out of 10,511 LEGOs. This intricate piece is available for sale on Etsy. Proceeds will benefit a local school. [Geeks Are Sexy]
Ohhh I think Lady Predators might become a thing. I'm okay with that. However, while I loved the one we posted yesterday, I'm not too sure about this one. I can not deny that the mask is beyond stellar, I'm not sold on the rest of the outfit. [Fashionably Geek]
It's dangerous to go alone! So get hitched with these Zelda inspired wedding rings from Takayas custom jewelry! Zelda wedding rings are pretty popular, but these are really pretty. I love the detail on the engagement ring. [Geeks Are Sexy]
I want to live in this alternate reality where the Emperor not only sounds like Mark Hamill but has the personality of the Joker. Youtuber Parry Hotter spliced Hamill's voice acting work as the Joker from Batman animated TV shows with Return of the Jedi. It makes the Emperor far creepier. [i09]
As the dorks at Dorkly remind us with this video, even Superman can have a bad day.
