We've been waiting months for the official announcement and now, it is here. The face of the 12th Doctor is known and we here at Nerd Bastards are pleased to give you a big fat picture of his mug. Get ready folks, cause this guy is going to be taking control of the T.A.R.D.I.S. for the foreseeable future:
Well, it looks like the bookmakers were right, because Mr. Peter Capaldi IS the new Doctor Who!
For those of you unfamiliar with your new Doctor, Peter Capaldi has an acting career spanning more than three decades, his most recognizable work probably being his role as Malcolm Turner on The Thick Of It. He also happens to be the ripe age of 55, which makes him a much older Doctor than recent converts to Doctor Who may be used to and a full 25 years older than the Doctor we're saying goodbye to, Matt Smith. Some may also recognize Capaldi from the show itself, as he had a small role in the episode "The Fires of Pompeii".
Whether he was your pick for The Doctor or not, Capaldi definitely has a lot to bring to the role. Now let's just see how he measures up.
