Named Ren Tamaki Richard de Grantaine, Suoh Tamaki is a second-year student at Ouran Academy and the founder and president of the Host Club. He lived in France with his mother until he was 14-years-old, thereafter he went to live with his father and grandmother in Japan. Tamaki and his father are separated from his French mother because of a deal made between Tamaki's ill mother and his cold-hearted paternal grandmother. Although he was treated coldly at first, Tamaki was able to win his grandmother's approval with his mind and kindness and the two eventually grew close.
