343 have released the list of achievements for gaming point fans to get for Halo 4. Given how fans have done many cool things with marines in various halo games, that's a nice nod.

Silentium Foreunner novel synopsis from Amazon
Buy this novel |
You have heard that there's going to be a third Halo Foreunner novel released AFTER Halo 4 is let loose on the masses. This follows the stories of Cryptum and Primordium which have given us a never before explored insight into the mysterious Foreunners who have loomed large in the Halo games but never been met in the flesh.
Greg Bear once again has written for the Halo franchise and this is what Amazon has to say about Silentium:
In the last years of the Forerunner empire, chaos rules. The Flood-a horrifying shape-changing parasite-has arrived in force, aided by unexpected allies. Internal strife within the ecumene has desperately weakened Forerunner defenses.
"Too little, too late, the legal rate of Juridicals is only now investigating possible crimes by the Master Builder and others. Evidence-gathering agents known collectively as Catalog have been dispatched to collect testimony from the Librarian and both Didacts: the Ur-Didact, treacherously abandoned in a Flood-infested system, and the Bornstellar Didact, who accompanies the Librarian as she preserves specimens against the dire possibility of Halo extermination.
Facing the imminent collapse of their civilization, the Librarian and the Ur-Didact reveal what they know about the relationship between the long-vanished Precursors and the Flood.
The Precursors created many technological species, including humanity and the Forerunners. But the roots of the Flood may be found in an act of enormous barbarity, carried out beyond our galaxy ten million years before...
Because of that barbarism, a greater evil looms. Only the Ur-Didact and the Librarian--husband and wife pushed into desperate conflict--hold the keys to a solution.
Facing the consequences of a mythic tragedy, one of them must now commit the greatest atrocity of all time-to prevent an insane evil from dominating the entire universe."
This sounds like a pretty epic conclusion to the Forerunner saga! It is most interesting this novel is being released following Halo 4 - from this synopsis one could inter-alia guess that it's adventures are confined to a time frame set prior to the Chief finding himself on the planet Reqiuem - which wouldn't mean the novel HAS to come out after Halo 4's release. This makes me wonder if it's release is merely timed to coincide with a post Halo release honeymoon period and thus perhaps encourage sales of the book.
Time will tell. You can pre-order Silentium from Amazon here.
CTF rules for Halo 4, the medals on offer!
Everything you need to know for Capture the Flag in Halo 4 as borrowed from the Waypoint Bullentin as written by BS Angel.
Halo 4 CTF
We recreated CTF as an all-new experience for Halo 4. Our goals early on were to create a fresh and exciting experience, focusing heavily on team play and being the flag carrier. If you didn't get a chance to play the new CTF over the weekend at PAX, here are some elements of the new CTF experience.
Flag Carrier Experience - Picking Up the Flag
This is easily the biggest addition to CTF in Halo 4, and we've made it a huge focus and priority to develop. Before we run through the changes, let's talk about becoming the flag carrier, which is an experience in and of itself.
The first thing you'll notice about being a carrier in Halo 4 is you'll automatically pick up the flag. Unlike a weapon, you won't need to hold or press a button to take the flag. We extensively tested different flag pick-up methods and settled on this one as it gets you into the action very quickly. While there will be occasions when you accidentally pick up the flag, we feel this is worth it as you can now easily grab the flag from a tough-to-reach location with just a touch, and there's a very natural feel to the transition. We've also carefully tuned the flag pick-up radius, so you'll need to be right on top of the flag to grab it.
Flag Carrier Experience - The Flagnum
The moment you pick up the flag, you'll hold the flag in your left hand and draw a Magnum in your right. The Magnum allows you to defend yourself in combat and joust other flag carriers. We're still working with the exact tuning of the flag carrier's Magnum, but we're hoping to give the flag carrier a slight damage boost. As in previous Halo games, your melee attack will still instant-kill. You can't switch weapons while holding the flag, and there are unlimited reloads on the Magnum. We've also added a brand new assassination called the "Flagsassination".
Flag Carrier Experience - Movement Speed
Unlike previous Halo games, you'll move at full speed as a flag carrier, including jump and strafe. One difference to regular movement is you can't sprint. However, a huge advantage to the Magnum is forcing enemies to stop sprinting - so in most encounters, you're on a nearly level playing field.
Flag Carrier Experience - You are the Objective
As soon as you pick up the flag, your HUD will change to highlight the point of delivery. Each player in the new CTF has a special presentation layer that changes based on the current game state. The new HUD features clear navpoints and verbs that let you keep track of the objectives and flag locations with just a glance. When you're holding the flag, you've got a job to do - deliver it! You'll become the center of attention as your teammates are charged with escorting you, and enemies with stopping you. To help reinforce this, you can't drop the flag; this makes you the centerpiece of encounters as you move the flag to the delivery point, with teammates escorting you along the way.
Rule Changes - Scoring
One of the biggest rule changes to CTF is your team flag is no longer required to be at home to score; we found this keeps the flags moving across the maps through the flag lanes, and helps focus the flag defense, escort, and capture objectives. In a tie game with one point to win, flag carriers and teammates will have a tough decision of running the flag or stopping the enemy flag carrier. We've seen this lead to epic carrier vs. carrier battles that were so exciting we even created special rewards for them (more on this later).
Rule Changes - Defending and Returning the Flag
When the enemy team drops your flag, the return timer will start. The timer is now clearly integrated into the flag's navpoint, so it won't be a surprise when it returns back to your base. Unlike previous Halo titles, standing on the flag will not speed up its return timer. We found this greatly improved the flag attack and defend scenarios as players can use more of the play space around their flag to defend it. It also helps to think of the flags as moving entities across the map, and your job is to keep the enemies moving, and yours in one place. So many games come down to the final moment, and defending your flag for even a few seconds can make all the difference.
Rule Changes - Overtime
Overtime is also new and improved for Halo 4, and you'll get there if time runs out in CTF and the score is still tied. Overtime is now 60 seconds long, and the first team to score wins the match. We've added some intense dynamic music in OT to keep the pressure on.
Scoring
As in Infinity Slayer, you'll be earning points in CTF not only for your team by scoring flags, but also for yourself by contributing to your team. Each medal in CTF awards you with medal points, which determine your place on the scoreboard compared to other players. Here's a quick summary of the medals just for CTF.
Medal Name | Description | Points |
Flag Capture | Deliver the opponents flag to your base | 100 |
Flag Carrier Kill | Kill an opponent who is carrying a flag | 5 |
Flag Kill | Kill an opponent while holding a flag | 5 |
Flag Defense | Kill an opponent close to your flag, or help return it | 5 |
Flag Runner | Capture 2 flags in one game | 15 |
Flag Champion | Capture 3 flags in one game | 25 |
Flag Assist | Help a teammate score a flag | 10 |
Flag Driver | Drive a Flag Carrier close to your capture point | 5 |
Flag Joust | Kill a flag carrier while holding a flag | 15 |
Flagsassination | Perform an assassination while holding a flag | 15 |
In addition to CTF medals, you'll still earn the standard medals you earn in Infinity Slayer. CTF also supports a custom game option that allows you to turn Infinity Ordnance on or off, allowing you to earn Infinity Slayer-style rewards in Capture the Flag. Team scoring is much simpler; the first team to three scores wins.

The Halo 4 Progression system explained
Halo 4 Progression System as explained by BS Angel at the Halo Waypoint blog.
She writes:
The UNSC Infinity is your gateway to the Infinity Multiplayer experience in Halo 4 and serves as the center of your Spartan career. Here you will build your custom Spartan-IV super-soldier, and progress your multiplayer career across both Spartan Ops and War Games modes. You'll start your career as a Spartan-IV, with a limited amount of choices. As you level up, that will slowly unfold into a large amount of choices. The pace with unlocks will be regular, but not so fast that it causes confusion.
When designing the progression system for Halo 4, our primary goal was to give progress more meaning, and in order to do that, the player's progress has to impact gameplay. In Halo 4, we primarily do this by allowing the progression system to modify the weapons and abilities the player can take into battle, empowering player choice, and exposing more elements of the sandbox to more players.
As you progress through your multiplayer career, you unlock items that allow you to build the character and experience you want. The things you really desire, such as the Battle Rifle and DMR, you'll gain access to fairly quickly. Some of the more difficult choices you'll face, such as which Specialization to tackle first, come later. All of these things give you the ability to tailor your experience and focus on your favorite parts of the sandbox more than ever before.
How quickly you progress through your career will partly depend on your skill. Skilled players will rank up faster, as you get more XP for winning matches. It's also worth noting that quitters do not get game completion XP. They can progress commendations and challenges, but they will not get partial XP at the end of the game (AHEM).
Below is a breakdown of the Halo 4 progression system.
FROM: CODENAME SURGEON
TO: CODENAME COALMINER
Spartan-IV Career
When you first enter Infinity Multiplayer, you automatically enlist into the SPARTAN-IV program and begin your Spartan career. This career spans all of your gameplay in War Games, Spartan Ops, Forge and Theater.
New SPARTAN-IV recruits are issued the following gear:
Assault Rifle
Magnum
Frag Grenade
Recruit Armor, Emblem, Visor and Stance
Stances are a new customization option that let you select a pose for your Spartan on your Player Card. This card is seen in every multiplayer lobby in the game and is how your Spartan is identified outside of gameplay.
You will have to rise up through the Spartan ranks to unlock more gear and make your way through the SPARTAN-IV program.
CLASSIFICATION: ELEVENTH HOUR [1/5]
SUBJECT: AFTERMATH
Spartan-IV Ranks
Spartans begin their career in the base SPARTAN-IV ranks. There are 50 ranks to work your way through, from SR-1 to SR-50, unlocking gameplay and visual customization items as you rank up.
To rank up, you need to earn XP. You earn XP by:
Playing War Games (earn more for winning and high personal score)
Playing Spartan Ops (earn more for higher difficulties)
Completing each level of a Commendation
Completing Challenges
Using Forge
At each rank, you will earn one or more Spartan Points (SP). SP are used to purchase gameplay items for your personal loadouts. Once you purchase an item, it can be used in any of your loadouts.
The Spartan Point system is based around offering choice at each rank. The full suite of gameplay items is available for purchase by SR-26 but you won't have enough SP to buy everything until SR-50. It's up to you to decide the order in which you want to build up the arsenal for your Spartan-IV.
/FILE EXTRACTION-RECONSTITUTION COMPLETE/
/START FILE/
Loadouts
Each loadout contains a Primary Weapon, Secondary Weapon, Grenade, Armor Ability, Tactical Package and Support Upgrade. As you rank up, you will gain access to the Armor Ability slot (SR-3), the Tactical Package slot (SR-7), and the Support Upgrade slot (SR-12).
We have default loadouts in our War Games playlists to give you a preview of these items before you reach those ranks, and to offer an alternative to your own custom loadouts.
Over the course of the SPARTAN-IV ranks, you also unlock four extra loadouts (at SR-6, SR-14, SR-26 and SR-41) for a total of five loadouts. You can rename these loadouts, so pick names that match the role or gear for that particular loadout.
Decades from now, when historians evaluate the war, what will they say about us? Will they claim that our victory was ultimately fruitless? That it failed to secure a lasting peace, or worse, that it was only a prelude to far greater horrors that now lay ahead?
Visual Customization
All Spartan-IVs start out with the same Recruit look. As you rank up, this is reflected in the look of your Spartan, which is visible to other players in gameplay and every Multiplayer lobby.
Visual customization items such as Armor, Armor Skins, Weapon Skins, Visors, Emblems and Stances are unlocked through several means:
Earning a specific SR rank
Earning a specific rank in a Specialization
Mastering a Commendation
Completing a Waypoint goal
When you meet the prerequisite, you will gain access to the items automatically; you do not need to spend Spartan Points.
My hope - OUR HOPE - is that history would instead view this war as a catalyst. That the last thirty years were a crucible, a threshing floor for our species, sifting out our fears and frailties. And that ultimately it made us stronger and more vigilant in the end, fully prepared for whatever will come next. After all, what good is struggle if there is no change? What good is a fire if the sword is not made stronger?
Specializations
Once you hit SR-50, you have the option to enlist in a new Specialization. You can choose which of the available Specializations to enlist in.
Specializations are composed of ten levels each. As you rank up in Specializations, you will unlock new armor sets, emblems, visor colors, armor and weapon skins and armor mods - which provide even more options to customize your Spartan-IV to fit your preferred role on the battlefield.
Once you commit to a Specialization, you have to complete it before switching to a new one. It will take roughly as long to complete a Specialization as it does to go from SR-40 to SR-50.
All players have access to two Specializations at launch:
Wetwork: WK-1 to WK-10
Operator: OP-1 to OP-10
The rest, which are listed below, will gradually be made available in the months following launch. We will be keeping a close watch on player participation post-launch and will roll out the additional six Specializations when the player base reaches certain milestones. Purchasers of the Limited Edition and pre-orders in certain territories have launch day access to the remaining six Specializations - although you still need to complete the initial 50 Ranks before you can enlist in one.
Pioneer: PR-1 to PR-10
Pathfinder: PT-1 to PT-10
Engineer: EN-1 to EN-10
Stalker: SK-1 to SK-10
Rogue: RG-1 to RG-10
Tracker: TK-1 to TK-10
Other players will be able to see your overall progress through the Specializations by your SR rank. This keeps going up by one each time you earn a Specialization rank, all the way up to SR-130. There might be a reward or two waiting for those who hit SR-130!
Attached are four reports accounting the major contingency structures our species currently faces in the wake of the war. Please evaluate them closely. Their outcomes will dictate how history views us, or if history even views us at all.
Commendations
Halo 4 features over 120 commendations covering a wide variety of activities (per weapon, per enemy type and per game type, for example). There are commendations based around earning specific medals, and we also have aggregators that require you to master multiple commendations to complete them. Commendations also have a variable number of levels.
Certain Commendations can award visual customization items when you master them. To master a Commendation, you need to have earned its highest level.
We see the Commendation system as the long-term progression with the most exclusive items. Most players will still be mastering Commendations well after completing the Specializations.
Xenomorphic element [2/5]
Martial element [3/5]
Provenancial element [4/5]
Primogeniture element [5/5]
Challenges
Like Commendations, Challenges have been expanded in Halo 4. We not only have daily content, but also a weekly and monthly cadence as well, giving players ample time to complete different challenges with varying levels of difficulty.
Challenges are divided into four categories:
Campaign
- 2 Weekly Challenges
War Games
- 2 Daily Challenges
- 2 Weekly Challenges
- 1 Monthly Challenge
Spartan Ops
- 6 Challenges
Waypoint
- Exclusive daily challenges for War Games
If you're looking to get a jump start on your career, you'll definitely want to stick around for the next segment of the Bulletin, because it's about to get all double XP up in here.
As Machiavelli once said: "the Romans, foreseeing troubles, dealt with them at once,
It's not a pissing contest but my space ship is bigger than yours
It's not a pissing contest but my space ship is bigger than yours... aka Compare and contrast the Infinity to the Forward Unto Dawn
Here's some stats released by Halowaypoint show the difference between the Forward Unto Dawn and the Infinity - the FUD being the spaceship the Master Chief and Cortana found themselves on at the end of Halo 3 and the Infinity being the UNSC vessel that's drawn to Requiem...
Here's the differences between the two ships:
If you have a thing for vessels, you are definitely going to find this portion of the Bulletin to be "the ship" (see what I did there?). With all the talk about the UNSC Infinity (which serves as the center of your Spartan career) and the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn (hello, live-action web series!), I thought it would be fun to take a deep dive into both. The above image shows just how big Infinity is compared to a measly frigate, and the below text provides more information than you could ever want, and then some. Enjoy!
UNSC INFINITY
CLASS: Infinity
REGISTRY: INF-101
SUBLIGHT CONFIGURATION: XR2 Boglin Fields: S81/X-DFR (Deuterium Fusion Reactor)
TRANSLIGHT CONFIGURATION: Mark X Macedon/Z-PROTOTYPE #78720HDS (Remote Carriage)
PRIMARY ARMAMENT: CR-08, Series-8 MAC (4)
SECONDARY ARMAMENT: M42 Archer (350 pods x 24 missiles)
TERTIARY ARMAMENT: M75 Rapier (250 pods x 30 missiles)
QUATERNARY ARMAMENT: M96 Howler (500 pods x 20 missiles)
QUINARY ARMAMENT: M965 Fortress 70mm Point Defense Network (830 guns)
A warship unparalleled in human innovation, UNSC Infinity is easily the largest and most powerful vessel ever employed by Earth. Although it was originally designed to contend with the Covenant, the war's end recommissioned Infinity for peaceful exploration and research - until it discovered the Forerunner world of Requiem and was mercilessly pulled into the maw of the planet.
Now, the fate of Infinity and its crew is inexorably tied to that of the Master Chief, as the ending of a 100,000-year story finally takes shape.
UNSC FORWARD UNTO DAWN
CLASS: Charon (Light Frigate)
REGISTRY: FFG-201
SUBLIGHT CONFIGURATION: Naoto Technologies: V4/L-DFR (Deuterium Fusion Reactor)
TRANSLIGHT CONFIGURATION: Series IV CODEN/SFTE - Main
PRIMARY ARMAMENT: Mark II, Light Coil - 83B6R3/MAC (Magnetic Accelerator Cannon)
SECONDARY ARMAMENT: M58 Archer Missile Delivery System (50 pods)
TERTIARY ARMAMENT: M870 Rampart 50mm Point Defense Guns (4 guns)
QUATERNARY ARMAMENT: M4093 Hyperion Nuclear Delivery System (3 silos)
Classical light frigate design, the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn is most renowned for its service on the frontlines in defense of Earth and its pursuit of Covenant forces through the Forerunner portal at Voi. There, the Dawn fought alongside a renegade Sangheili fleet and defeated the Covenant, ultimately bringing an end to the war. Unfortunately, upon its return to Earth, the ship was rent in two while passing through a collapsing slipspace portal, sending the fore of the vessel back to Earth, while the aft section, containing the Master Chief and Cortana, absently floated in uncharted space for years.

Starlight Honey + Breathlessaire (Virginia)
Starlight Honey (Virginia)Dee Dee
Breathlessaire (Virginia)Dexter
We grew up watching Dexter and Dee Dee on Dextors Laboratory and really wanted to create fun and easy costumes we could really be silly in !
Not much process for these really both costumes were completed in about a day, after that we just had order wigs a pair of glasses some purple latex gloves and dye and old pair of pointe shoes.
We had such an exciting and welcoming experience in these costumes, Just walking past people and seeing faces light up as people recognized who we were dressed up as. You could really see peoplse nostalgic looks and it made it all worth it. Plus who doesn't want to have an excuse to press all of the buttons!
We have both been sewing most of our lives and Cosplay seems like a fun step to take in the growth process of becoming a costumer. Cosplay has provided such a wonderful creative outlet and a great and safe way to really express yourself along with your likes.

Ao no Exorcist: Okumura Rin and Okumura Yukio
Upon the discovery that the woman impregnated by Satan was going to have twins, it was believed that Satan's powers would be split between them. However, because Yukio's body was weaker compared to Rin's, Yukio did not inherit any of Satan's powers and was born fully human, giving all of Satan's powers to Rin. Yukio did receive a spirit wound at birth from his brother, which allowed him to be aware of demons for as long as he can remember.
Poor Rin must have fallen asleep from studying manga so hard. I think Yukio will let him off the hook this time. Thanks to Chris for sending this and to for sharing it!

Final Fantasy VII Advent Children: Kadal 02
Like Sephiroth before him, Kadaj's trip into the Lifestream does not actually kill him. He eventually revived himself along with two more Remnants of Sephiroth, Loz and Yazoo, inside the Northern Cave Crater as the Turks were collecting Jenova's head. The three of them effortlessly defeated the Turks before deciding to locate Jenova's head, that of which the Turks had somehow managed to escape with.
Another awesome cosplay by Saya! Every time I see her cosplay photos, it makes me sad that we will never be able to see new ones from her anymore. Thanks again to Sheila for sending this in!

Vocaloid 2: Lily
Lily first appeared on the cover of the CD "Anim.o.v.e. 01" on the 19th of August 2009 before the announcement of her vocaloid development. Her voice source is the lead vocalist of m.o.v.e., Masuda Yuri. The idea of developing a vocaloid based on Yuri's voice came about as one of the m.o.v.e. members was a vocaloid user.

Final Fantasy VIII: Squall Leonhart
Squall was unwillingly dragged into the role of the hero when Cid Kramer, headmaster of Balamb Garden, appointed him as leader of the academy. During a late battle against Galbadia Garden, Squall had shown some leadership difficulties, which were mainly due to his lingering isolationism. After some time, Squall grew more comfortable with his leadership role, a skill much needed in defeating Ultimecia.
Awesome cosplay by Japanese cosplayer, Ryuuya ( )! I love the details and the angle of this photo makes Squall really look like a lone wolf. Thanks again to Jeannie for sending this in!

Hakuoki: Zuisouroku: Saito Hajime 04
At the end of Hakuoki ~Shinsengumi Kitan~ anime, Saito was last seen charging against the enemy while his comrades are all slain. History tells us that the real Saito survived even after Aizuwakamatsu Castle fell. He traveled southwest along with former Aizu retainers to the Takada Domain in Echigo Province, where they were held as prisoners of war.
Another awesome cosplay by Japanese cosplayer, Ikatarou! I must admit, I really love the way he depicted Saito. And the fact that he's a guy adds a lot of points too. Thanks again to Milly for sending this in!

DC Comics: Supergirl
I recently received a "hate mail" for not featuring cosplays from Western comics despite claiming that I feature cosplays from all over the world.
You know, if you wanted me to cosplay someone from a particular series, all you had to do was ask. :) I mean, I did feature something from Aladdin and The Emperor's New Groove after all, so I wouldn't say no to DC or Marvel.
So let me leave you with this photo of Supergirl by DC Comics as posted by Geeks are Sexy because they really are:
And just in case you'd like me to feature more, then feel free to send me more photos. And if you have the cosplayer's and/or photographer's information as well, that's even better. I might not get to all of your emails on time thanks to my readers' overwhelming support, but hey, I'm still doing the best that I can.

Queen’s Blade Rebellion: Captain Liliana
Liliana was an infamous pirate who nearly destroyed all of the Continent's coastal waters. She is said to be the granddaughter of Pirate Queen Artemis, the author behind "Pirate Aesthetics". After she met her untimely death by the sea monster Kraken, she was later resurrected by the Swamp Witch to lead her undead army in order to take over the Continent.
Cute cosplay by Sayu-chan! She apparently did this cosplay last 20th of May at Tokyo Fashion Town. I would feature her other photos, but I don't think they're allowed on Blogger. Thanks again to for sending this in and to MPzero for the awesome photography!

Angel Beats!: Yui and Hinata Hideki
Although Hinata Hideki initially found Yui to be very annoying, they actually care deeply about one another. Yui often pesters him about anything she can think of and Hinata would usually ignore or shout back at her. Hinata later finds out that one of Yui's regrets in her life was that she wasn't able to get married, and Hinata helped her pass on by promising to marry her even if she was still paralyzed when they are reincarnated.
I find this photo to be so cute, especially knowing the relationship these two had, it's just perfect. I really do hope they find each other again in their second lives. I only wish I knew who Kousaka Yun was cosplaying with. Thanks again to Lily for sending this in!

Rockman 2: Air Man
A Robot Master created by Dr. Wily, Air Man can generate powerful winds with the propeller in his torso to pull or push enemies. He can also attack with small tornadoes using his Air Shooter. Air Man dislikes Fall season because the leaves get stuck in his fan, which is why he's weak to Leaf Shield.
I'm so surprised with how good this looks. Cosplaying from this series is certainly a challenge with all the armor and strange proportions, but I really love how this turned out. Please view the original photo uploaded to Facebook by Ssm!

Taylor Swift as Saber from Fate/Stay Night
Could it be true?
Could Taylor Swift, the cute, pop country singer who stole and broke the hearts of many actually be an otaku? Did she really cosplay, albeit casually, Saber from Fate/Stay Night?!
Well, unfortunately, this is no more than a well-photoshoped image of Taylor getting her morning coffee. The ahoge and ribbon were added to the original image, but hey, we can dream can't we? And since a lot of cosplay photos are photoshoped anyway, I guess we can consider this one too.
Thanks to the Tambayan ng mga Anime Addicts II for the awesome photo!

You're my star, and no matter when,

Raks Geek: Bellydancing TARDIS with a Lightsaber
"...your argument is invalid."
I'd have to agree with Braden there. This is just a teaser photo of a new show of geeks who can bellydance and play with real fire. And if you're lucky enough to be anywhere near Chicago unlike yours truly, then you might want to see this live on August 3-4. So run over to Raks Geek's website for more information.
Why are all these awesome stuffs occurring everywhere but where I am anyway? Thanks to Dawn for sending this in!

Lupin III: Arsène Lupin III and Jigen Daisuke
Ars ne Lupin III, the grandson of the gentleman thief, Ars ne Lupin, is considered to be the world's greatest thief. Lupin is well-known for announcing his intentions to steal valuable objects by sending a calling card to the owners of his desired items. His right-hand man and closest ally is Jigen Daisuke, an expert marksman who has an accuracy of nearly 100%.
This feature sure brings back a lot of great memories. I'm surprised someone still cosplays these characters. Thanks to Elmer for sharing this!

‘Intimacy 2.0′ Dress Turns Transparent When You’re Turned On [Video]
The Infinity 2.0 dress is truly one-of-a-kind, and not just because of its totally futuristic design or its revealing nature. In fact, the dress gives away more than just its wearer’s cleavage. It also reveals when she’s feeling turned on and aroused, not just to her date but to the whole world. How? By turning transparent.
In between the dress’s leather ribbons are opaque ‘e-foils’ that are wired to detect the wearer’s heartbeat. The faster it beats, the more transparent the dress gets. Talk about not being very sublte.
You can hit the break for a video featuring the Intimacy 2.0 dress.

TV Teaser For ‘Under The Dome’: An Epic Union Of Steven Spielberg & Stephen King
For those of you who watched the Super Bowl yesterday, either you watched for the sport, the halftime show, or the commercials. Or the booze. Whatever. Anyway, us nerds do tend to get some lovin’ during the Super Bowl.
One of the cool things that came our way this time around is a TV Teaser for Under the Dome, which is entirely conceptual and also marks the launch of their website. Under the Dome will be produced by Steven Spielberg‘s company, Amblin Entertainment, and is based on the novel by Stephen King. We don’t need to tell you that that’s an epic match.
CBS has got the supernatural drama down for 13 episodes, going straight to the series without all the pilot business. Guess this means CBS means business, srs bsns. It’ll premiere on June 24, 2013.
Since all we’ve seen so far are concepts and we haven’t seen any actual footage, it’s hard to say how good this will be, but it’s also hard not to expect epicness from this union.
A few weeks ago, word was out that they’d done the first bit of casting. Expect to see Colin Ford, Natalie Martinez, Britt Robertson, Jolene Purdy, Nicholas Strong and Alex Koch on the small screen.
Hit the jump to watch the teaser.

Harlin Hurries 3D Herc Flick: Hopes To Beat Ratner and Rock’s Version To Theaters
Renny Harlin is one of Hollywood’s most uneven directors: You KNOW a Michael Bay film will make you question the existence of a benevolent God….You KNOW a Joss Whedon or Christopher Nolan movie’s probably gonna be awesome….But Renny Harlin? You might get Die Hard II….or you might get Cutthroat Island–it’s about 50-50.
Harlin’s been all but hitless when it comes to big budget films since The Long Kiss Goodnight flopped–though he’s done some reasonably competent smaller films like Exorcist: The Beginning, and some notable work on the small screen directing shows like Burn Notice and White Collar. However, he’s poised for another shot at the big leagues with his forthcoming 3D adaptation of Hercules.
The project has been in development at Millenium since ’07 and has a $70 mil. budget. The screenwriters: Hanna Weg and Sean Hood (who penned the recent, “Ahnold-less” Conan reboot) claim this will be a darker, grittier adaptation of the Greek demigod’s tale. Millenium wants the film casted and under production in Bulgaria by this May.
Why the rush? MGM has their own Hercules, helmed by Brett Ratner and starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson–with an announced release date of August 8, 2014. Harlin and Millenium hope to beat Ratner and MGM to the cineplexes…..a bold statement considering Harlin’s Hercules doesn’t even have a cast yet. Millenium wants their Hercules in theaters in March, 2014–meaning Harlin has only a few weeks to cast eight leads. Hopefully for Millenium, access to actors from their wildly popular Expendables franchise will be a big help, but they still have to somehow find leads willing to work on a 70 million dollar 3D action-adventure.
To be honest–I’m calling this fight for Ratner and Rock. Harlin’s been out of the game for too long, rushing his Hercules is only going to leave Millenium with a subpar film, and nothing short of a contract with Satan will nab Harlin’s film enough star power to seriously threaten MGM’s adaptation.

Graphic Novel ‘The Sword’ Getting Feature Film Adaptation
The Sword by the Luna Brothers is one of the best graphic novels you’ve probably never read. It’s one of those titles tucked behind all the mainstream stuff.
The plot of The Sword follows Dara Brighton, a young paraplegic whose family is brutally murdered by a mysterious trio (gods). Dara escapes and discovers a magical sword that allows her to walk again and grants her physical powers. From there, things get intense, and super violent. Picture Kill Bill but on a supernatural scale.
I read a lot of graphic novels, books, and comics, and this ranks up there among my favorites. I was surprised by how quickly I grew to like the simple, yet expressive artwork and the book’s thoughtful and realistic characters. Oh, and the unapologetic violence and top-notch action may have sucked me in as well.I can’t stress enough what a MUST read The Sword is, but, if you’re not here to read, there’s always the movie….Lakeshore Entertainment has picked up the rights to The Sword; with Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi producing the fantasy revenge story.Lakeshore is also responsible for bringing us the Underworld franchise, and they are also developing an adaptation of the comic book, I, Frankenstein.I’m not too thrilled with the production company (Underworld movies were hack & slash cheesefests), but this is a graphic novel that would actually make a good movie. I’m thrilled it’s being adapted.Source: THR
The Top 7 ‘Community’ Episodes of All Time!!!
Under Dan Harmon, Community existed to poke normality in the eye, embrace the weird, and pay tribute to and/or mock… well, nearly every meaningful shred of the pop culture swaddling cloth, but now that he’s out, the show is in-arguably heading into a different era. Good or bad (so far, bad), the show will be different in some way, and so, as October 19th occurs across the globe and as Community returns in an effort to fullfill the promise of #SixSeasonsAndAMovie, we thought it would be best to name our top 7 episodes of Community, a task that was incredibly hard due to all the fantastic candidates.
Contemporary American Poultry
Though I resent the implication that chicken fingers could ever lead to anything bad (except for coronary artery disease… ), magical golden breaded indeterminable chicken bits amazingly find a way to put a wedge in-between Jeff and the Study Group after he concocts a scheme to take over Greendale’s fried treat racket in this Goodfellas inspired episode that turns Abed into a power drunk poultry warlord.
Modern Warfare
The theft of a combo DVD/Blu Ray player leads to mayhem when Greendale goes to battle with itself for the first time by way of painted warfare. Friendships are tested, tables are defiled, The Terminator, Scarface, and Die Hard are referenced and Annie says “Freeze Mama-Jama!” whilst popping out of a trash can.
Epidemiology
The Dean caters the Greendale Halloween Party with top secret government taco meat that drives the student body zombie (I chose zombie instead of crazy. The power of imagination, bitches).
Honestly, the episode reaches nirvana in the first five minutes when Chevy Chase — dressed as Captain Kirk — noshes on Starburns’ arm as Abba plays in the background, but Abed getting his Han moment, the appearance of Doc Potterywood (He’s not special), and Jeff being cool as a zombie allow this episode to pierce the ceiling of perfection itself. Kevin’s of the world rejoice!
Abed’s Uncontrollable Christmas
It’s a claymation Christmas adventure with an appearance by John Oliver and the revelation that the meaning of Christmas boils down to a Lost DVD. It doesn’t have Annie in a sexy Christmas dress (insert stock word leer here), but it still puts me in the spirit.
Intermediate Documentary Filmmaking
An Abed-centric take on documentaries that isn’t commonly listed as among the show’s’ bests, but it is one of my favorites thanks to Troy and LeVar Burton. I don’t really care about Pierce’s head games, Britta’s internal struggle over a fat check, or Jeff’s daddy issues. More shrimp for Kunta and “Set phasers to LOVE ME!”
src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Ziw3nHCHEJw" height="315" width="560" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0">
Documentary Filmmaking Redux
Abed makes his Hearts of Darkness documentary as the Dean comes undone, Jeff bizarrely morphs into him, and Annie shows signs of Stockholm Syndrome while shouting “The dean is a genius, and I will die protecting his vision!”
Also, I’m pretty sure Dan Harmon crossed something off his bucket list by locking Chevy Chase in a trailer and hiding him an entire episode.
Digital Estate Planning
The study group gets bested in a side scroll 8-bit video game by Gus Fring while pursuing Pierce’s father’s posthumous respect and fortune. I love Shirley and Annie’s freaking out and then finding a frightening level of comfort with the disposal of a pixelated body, but nothing tops Abed finally finding everlasting love thanks to gentle code manipulation.

Conan O’Brien Reviews ‘Halo 4′, Which Is Apparently Delicious
Conan O'Brien does a segment on Conan called “Clueless Gamer” in which he plays video games, usually with help from Aaron Blayaert. So far he’s reviewed Skyrim, Minecraft, Resident Evil, Just Dance 4, and Hitman: Absolution. Now he’s reviewing Halo 4, and it follows the usual pattern of Conan impatiently grumbling while Blayaert tries to explain the overly-complicated backstory of a modern gaming franchise. “There’s no prologue to Pong,” Conan gripes. I know that feel, bro.
After the backstory it gets much funnier, with the usual double entendres (“She updated your firmwear while you were asleep.” … “I bet she did.”) and joyous violence. Guess what happens when Conan O’Brien plays Halo 4 and meets the character he voiced.
Sleep tight, Richter.
