THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie 2010 Calendar is Avaliable!
A friend of mine the other day asked me if they made a 2009 Calendar for THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie, that he would like to get one. I told him, "Yeah, of course, they made a few different sizes: a Regular-Size Wall Calendar, then a Larger One, & even a Small Mini-Version. I reported it on the Bat-Blog here a long time ago, didn't you read it?!" I was sort of pulling his chain because I know he does not read the site daily like most readers do & he probably missed it. Anyway, I told him about the website where you can buy them because they're kinda hard to find in most stores ( they sold out ). Well, he called me back & was sort of freaking out. While laughing he said, "They already have the 2010 DARK KNIGHT Wall Calendar available!". Now, to offer a calendar for next year is kinda weird, especially this far in advance. But what is also really strange is "why?". Why make a product for this movie way after it's not in theaters anymore? It must be because the movie is so hugely popular. I mean, think about the marketing of most Batman movies. While it is out they manufacture every conceivable product there is ( Happy Meal Toys, Toothpaste, Underwear, Cereal, Action Figures, T-Shirts, Posters, etc...) Then, as soon as the movie is over, they stop & allow the products to die out. Well, now they are offering a Batman Calendar...for NEXT year, ha ha! So, because it is current "Batman Product News" I thought I would post it here & down below is a link button if ya want to get it. The graphics do look pretty cool so I might order one for my friend. Ya know, as an inside joke, ha ha!
Photos: Cosplay Batman Fans Wear Their Costumes at the 2008 Polaris Convention
A good friend to the Bat-Blog, named Neville, sent us some extremely cool photos yesterday. He wrote, "I have one more picture from last year's Polaris Convention to send to you: it's a picture of Nightwing, the Riddler, and Robin, all looking quite intense. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, here's another one of Catwoman too!" Ha Ha, AWESOME!! Thank you Neville. I really love these Comic Book Fans who dress up when they go to comicons. Seriously, it's very cool how creative they are. All of these costumes look really really great...good job! I think a lot of people who were at that show really appreciated these characters. Plus, I think a lot of readers are gonna really love that Catwoman pic...MEOW!! If any other readers have ANY kind of Batman-related photos to share then please send them in, we always love that!

Video Review: THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie Pinball Machine
Here's a pretty good review of the new Batman Pinball Machine Game. It's based on THE DARK KNIGHT film & the graphics are AWESOME! This is actually the 3rd Pinball Game to be based on a Batman movie. This new game was developed by Stern. For my friends & family reading this, I really really want one of these! ( hint, hint )
HEATH LEDGER BIRTHDAY TRIBUTE ( Wallpaper )
Today, April 4th, would have been Heath Ledger's birthday. So, to act as sort of a tribute to him I created this Desktop Wallpaper you can use to remember him. He is missed very much by all of his fans & it's still a shock to me really that he tragically died so young. I was so happy he won the Oscar for his performance of the Joker in The Dark Knight, he really deserved it, but at the same time I was sad he didn't get to go on stage to receive it. Besides being a great actor, and more importantly, he was also a really great person. Happy Birthday Heath.

Swedish BATMAN COLLECTOR Shares Original MOVIE COSTUME PROP Photos!
A new Bat-Friend named Markus sent us some extremely cool photos the other night & he said, "My name is Markus and I'm from Sweden, 20 years old. I'm a big Batman Fan and really enjoy your blog. I have two major Batman pieces in my collection. I have the Original Robin Mask worn on screen by Chris O'Donnell in the 1995 BATMAN FOREVER movie . I also have the original Batman Cowl worn by George Clooney in BATMAN AND ROBIN ( 1997 ). I know most fans dislike these movies but the suits themselves are pretty cool and extremely well made. As a Batman Fan I really enjoy owning these pieces." Thanks Markus, the photos are awesome & I can only imagine how cool it is to see these amazing pieces of bat-memorabilia, in real-life, everyday! I know that the "Joel Schumacher films" are sort of laughed at today but they are a part of bat-history & actually, "Batman Forever" wasn't too bad, ha ha. I know that for a lot of younger Batman Fans these movies were sort of their introduction to the character & for that reason, when they get older, these movies will be very special to them. Something to think about is that every fan sort of has their "own Batman"...the one they loved a s a kid. So, looking at it that way, these Movie Props are sort of guaranteed to become even more special & valuable in the future. I think these are great pieces, I even like the display cases, & thanks again for sharing these pics. The Bat-Blog is all about the joys of collecting & I appreciate the time it took for you to send these. If any other readers have cool stuff to share then send it...today!
More Photos: HOT TOYS JOKER / POLICE OFFICER Figure MMS DX 01
For the last few days I have been pretty excited about the release of the brand-new HOT TOYS Joker / Police Officer Version Figure. It's a part of their new "Movie Masters Deluxe" series # 1 & it's totally amazing! In fact, it's completely INSANE! The attention to details is extremely accurate. The head sculpt looks EXACTLY like Heath Ledger from THE DARK KNIGHT Batman movie. It's really killing me right now that I can't afford to buy one, ha ha! But, someday, IT WILL BE MINE! I recently received some newer photos ( Thanks Dave ). Two of them are official Hot Toy Company catalog photos and the last one is from a Hong Kong website where they show the actual product at a trade show. If you're looking for a good place to buy one of these then I recommend clicking on the button down below.

HOLY CUPCAKES BATMAN! The PENGUIN Vintage Hostess Fruit Pies Comic Book Ads
Do you remember these really great Hostess Fruit Pie Ads from the older comic books of the 1970's and 80's?? The ones pictured here feature THE PENGUIN Batman Villain. They used to crack me up the way they "tricked you into reading the ad"...they usually had some decent artwork & a silly story, but at the end they always sales-pitched Hostess Snacks, funny! The weird thing was, as a little kid, I used to totally love these Hostess Fruit Pies ( cherry was the best, my #1 choice ). As always you can click the small photo for a larger, more "readable", picture ...and also please remember to CHECK OUT THE BAT-ARCHIVES for way more vintage toys & advertisements!

BATMAN & JOKER WALLPAPERS The Animated Series & Hot Toys Police Officer Figure
It's "Wacky Wallpaper Wednesday" again & this time I'm proud to say that both graphics you see here were submitted by friends of the Bat-Blog! The 1st one was sent by our good friend Zdravko. He noticed that when I wrote that "CD review" recently about the new Mask of The Phantasm Soundtrack that I mentioned I really liked the inside graphic they used. The one where Batman is hitting the Joker ( Animated Series version ) & all the playing cards are flying around...well, here's that image! The 2nd one is by a reader named Matt who's an extremely talented graphic artist. He loves to make desktop backgrounds of images from the Batman movies, especially The Dark Knight film. But this time he used the famous teaser-ad that the HOT TOYS Company used to hype their New JOKER POLICE OFFICER Figure. The wallpaper is so highly crafted that it kind of looks like a photograph but if you look closely you can see that he used graphic art software to very carefully draw every single shade of color...pretty cool! I wanna thank both these guys, Zdravko & Matt, for allowing me to use these awesome pics, thank you! If the Bat-Blog is any good at all it's because the readers are so involved, I love that.

Warner Bros Animation Celebrates 80 Years of Cartoons with New Billboard!
In Burbank, California, on April 7th, 2009 Warner Brothers Animation held a public event where they presented their brand-new billboard celebrating nearly 80 years of WB cartoons. Celebrity guests included Actor Diedrich Bader, the voice of Batman on Batman: The Brave and The Bold ( Airing Friday Night on the Cartoon Network), and the iconic actress Julie Newmar, who played Catwoman in the 1966 Batman TV Series. The photo up above show them together with the original movie Batmobile. The billboard celebrates both old & new characters. Please be sure to click on the above photos for larger, more detailed, versions. I love the fact that Batman is so prominantly featured in the very center ( Take that, Superman! ). Also, if you study the photo, you'll see a lot of Batman: The Animated Series characters along the bottom: Harley Quinn, The Joker, Two-Face, Catwoman, Clayface, & Mr. Freeze...very cool! Happy 80th Anniversary Warner Brothers!!!

BATMAN MOVIE ( Michael Keaton Version ) TATTOO ART By Jeremy Shock
I have a friend on MySpace named Jeremy Shock. The other day his page popped up in a random fashion & I decided to check it out because, at the last minute, I realized he lives in the same city as me, Oklahoma City! His MySpace page is mainly about his artwork. He paints & sometimes makes drawings. Anyway, I thought I'd search his pics to see some of his artwork. While surfing his galleries I noticed he had one for tattoo art. That's where I found this amazing BATMAN TATTOO that I knew I had to share here. It's an older version of Batman from either 1989 or the early 90's, a Michael Keaton version. It really looks a lot like the actor who played Batman so I thought that was pretty cool. Shock's other artwork is very impressive too & if you're interesting you should check it out at http://www.myspace.com/kcjamesyall
One last thing, if you're a MySpace Member then please add us! Here's a link:

Mike & Ryan, please contact me to confirm your correct mailing address & then afterwards I will mail these babies to you, congratulations guys!

Video: Batman Dark Knight and The Terminator ( Christian Bale vs Arnold Schwarzeneggar )
Here's a very clever movie trailer parody where they did a mix-up of Batman: The Dark Knight with The Terminator. It's sort of as an homage to the new Christian Bale TERMINATOR SALVATION movie by Warner Bros coming out later. The editing is pretty good &, of course, it's totally funny. Enjoy!
