Kenner BATMAN SUPER POWERS Action Figure Comic Book
Back in 1985 a toy company called Kenner made a line of DC Comics action figures called SUPER POWERS. When you bought a figure you also got a free mini-comic book included in the package, located behind the figure ( see 1st photo ). Well, this post is a reprinting of that comic book that you can read ( Be sure to click on the above images for larger, more readable, pictures ). I hope it brings back good memories. In fact, they're kinda fun to read!! Here's the Batman one & later, I plan on posting the Robin one so keep an eye out for that.
Glastron 1966 BAT-BOAT: Vintage Newspaper Clippings
Here are 2 very cool pieces of Batman History I discovered lately on the 1966 Batman Message Board. They are both vintage newspaper clippings from the 1960's talking about the Glastron Boat Company & the world famous BAT-BOAT they made for the 1966 Batman TV Show Movie. These are kinda neat to see after all these years, a rare find! ( Sorry, the 1st one is kinda hard to read ).

Halloween Costume Memories: DAVE IS BATMAN!
OK, as promised here are the wonderful photos of our buddy Dave dressed a s Batman! In earlier posts we shared some pics of him in various Halloween Costumes he has worn over the years. There have been costumes of The JOKER, both "Vintage Comic Book" & "Heath Ledger - The Dark Knight movie" versions. Plus he has been Robin, The Boy Wonder! Well, here's a nice collection of Batman costume photos! In the 1st photo it looks like he wore his costume to the office one day. So, I guess, his cubile on that day was called the "Batcave", ha ha! In another pic, from around 1989, he is with a very pretty girl who was dressed-up as Catwoman ( ya gotta love that ) & in another he is shown with his "Batmobile Car". Actually it's a black Hyundai with cardboard tail-fins, ha ha! ( I totally love the creativity of that ). Before I forget, I wanna thank Dave for all the great photos he has sent us. They have all been really great & I really appreciate that. I also want to invite all other Bat-Blog Fans to send in their Halloween memories, thank you.
NEAL ADAMS in a 1966 Batmobile at The 2009 Big Apple Comic Con!
Last weekend, in New York City, they had the famous BIG APPLE COMIC CON 2009! One of the special guests was none other than the legendary Batman Comic Book Artist Neal Adams. Don't believe me? Well, here's photographic proof! Here is Neal sitting in a beautiful 1966 Batmobile Replica Car. Now, I mean, how cool is that! I have never got to sit in one of these things, but from what I have been told, once you sit there you never want to leave, ha ha! I love the expression on Adams' face, priceless. If you want to know more about Neal Adams' current work then I suggest checking out his website. You can visit today by clicking HERE!

Xavier's BATMAN ANIMATED SERIES Artwork!!
OK, right now I could not be more proud! Yesterday I received an e-mail from a Bat-Blog Fan named Xavier. He is 9 years old, in the 4th Grade, & really loves to draw comic book characters. He even has a cool website, called "Super Creations", where he shares his artwork. He also really really loves the Bat-Blog! In the letter he sent this picture he recently drew to help promote the Bat-Blog on his website. It's EXTREMELY SUPER-AWESOME!! Please be sure to click on it for a larger, more detailed, version. He drew a bunch of characters in the "Animated Series" style: Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, The Riddler, Bane, Clayface, & even Two-Face!! I totally love it & really appreciate it, it's great! Plus, his drawing skills are very good for a little kid. This guy will probably work for DC or Marvel Comics in the future! Thank you very much Xavier for making & sending this pic to us. Readers, if you would like to see more comic book art from this talented artist then please visit his website by clicking HERE!
Jason's CUSTOM BATMAN MEGO DOLL - 8" Action Figure!
Everybody who grew-up in the 1970's has fond memories of a toy line called MEGO. They made a lot of Superhero Toys that have now become classic. These things are getting a lot harder to find now. But something that has happened in the last few years is that people are totally into customizing them. Well, they're not ruining ones that are in good shape, that would be bad, but on occasion you find them totally wasted & that's what they use. I think it's really cool. I love when people are creative like this & sometimes the result of these custom figures is extremely cool & very clever. Here's a very good example: Our friend Jason sent us some photos of an Adam West 1966 Batman TV Show MEGO Doll he put together. He got the fake Blister Card from one source, the clothing from another, & so on. Then he made this awesome Batman figure!! The details are wonderful. It's a total fantasy-piece, because MEGO TOYS never made this, but it would have been so great if they did! The figure measures about 8" tall & comes with a Bat-Suit Costume, Head Cowl, Boots, Gloves, & a Bat-Belt!! I also love the packaging. It looks so authentic & seeing the photos of the characters is really cool. I wanna thank Jason for sending these incredible photos & if any other Bat-Blog Fans out there are into making Custom Toys of any kind then please sen us your pics. Our e-mail button is always on the top right-hand side of this page.

Joseph's HARLEY QUINN Batman Tattoo Art Photo
I recently met a guy named Joseph who just got a new Batman-related tattoo that I knew I had to share here because it's extremely cool! The bat-tat looks like Vintage Pin-Up Girlie Art with HARLEY QUINN, The Joker's Girlfriend. I like how there is a fake "Autographed Signature" next to her, that's clever. It's the "Batman: The Animated Series" version that, personally, I like the best! Overall the colors are bright & sharp...looks great! Thank you Joseph for sharing this with my readers. I know that they will totally get a kick out of it. If there are nay other Bat-Blog Readers who have got some Batman ink then please shoot us a photo. Our e-mail button is always at the top right-hand side of this page.
New BATMAN, ROBIN, & JOKER T-Shirts To Keep An Eye Out For!
I'm always trying to keep up with Batman T-Shirts Designs & when I come across some that I think are pretty cool I like to share them. Here are 3 new ones that I think are very well done. Now the 1st one is my favorite because it's a graphic of what the original 1966 TOPPS BATMAN Bubble Gum Card Package ( Wax Wrapper ) looked like. That real-life piece of Bat-memorabilia has always been very special to me because I really loved these Trading Cards as a very little kid! The next one has more of a "Pop Art" feel about it & I'm actually trying to figure out who's comic book art they used. I'm thinking it might be the artist Dick Giordano but I'm not sure. Either way, it's the "Silver Age" Batman that I have always liked with the blue / gray bat-suit & yellow-oval bat-symbol logo. For the last example I included this one with split-faces of Batman & The Joker. The reason is because it totally reminds me of all the T-Shirts that were produced during the 1989 Batman Movie craze. It just has a nice "Vintage 80's Look" about it. Now remember, I've included a link button down below so you can see other examples of new shirts offered. So, check it out!!

Parody Webcomic: BATMAN AND SONS
Awhile back I discovered a very interesting webcomic that, at the time, I meant to share because it's actually kind of cool & the drawing style is really excellent. But, being busy with this site, I sort of forgot about it. Then later a friend mentioned it to me & I was like, oh yeah, that is a cool site. I have to say something about it. But then I couldn't find it ( I have like 4 million bookmarks, ha ha ). Then I got busy & forgot about it again. Well, just recently a Bat-Blog Reader wrote me about it, asking if I had ever heard of a site called BATMAN AND SONS. He sent a link. When I got there I laughed & thought, OK, I have to report it now...so, finally, here it is! ( Thanks to Jim for re-reminding me! ) Now it's sort of a high-concept kinda thing & to get into it you have to release all the preconceived feelings you have about the Batman character. Basically, you just have to sort of go with it! The idea is that Batman is a Father & all the Robin characters through the years are his small children. There's even a tiny baby who is the "Batman Beyond" character. I guess you can say it's a little bit like a TV Family Sitcom. Yes, see, I said it was kinda weird. But once you start to read it the thing sort of grows on you. Now, I'm assuming that some people will think it's charming & others ( mainly uptight crybabies ) won't like it at all. It reminds me a lot of the recent DC Comics title "Tiny Titans", where all the characters are small children. I don't know. Please check it out & let me know what you think about it. Here's a link, just click HERE!
Music Video: BATMAN SINGS QUEEN! Rome, Italy
When the Dark Knight is not fighting crime in Gotham City he likes to sing on stage in a rock band. No, really, I have the video to prove it! OK, this is not the real Batman but a group called "Innuendo".They did a cover to Queen's classic hit "One Vision". They performed it LIVE this last Halloween at a Rock Club called Geronimo's in Rome, Italy. I think they did a pretty good job on this song! Not bad at all! In fact, I think it would be cool if some Bat-Blog Readers left a comment on their YouTube video to let them know what YOU think of it. Please do so by clicking HERE!

THE DARK KNIGHT Batman Movie BAT-POD Birthday Cake!
OK, Here's a photo of a pretty cool Batman Birthday cake that sort of cracks me up, & really impresses me with it's inventiveness, all at the same time! It was made to look like the Bat-Pod Motorcycle used in THE DARK KNIGHT movie. As you can see in the above photo, the wheels are made out of 2 cakes put together. In fact, I think the whole thing is actually edible! Either way it's really cool. I wanna thank our friend Lauren for sending us this wonderful photo. Plus, I want to invite any Bat-Blog Fans who have had a Batman Birthday Cake in the past or present to send us some pics of yours.
BAT-VET: Custom 70's Corvette BATMOBILE Replica Car!
YYEEE HAAAWW! Somebody done made themselves a Batmobile, bang bang! OK, all kidding aside this Homemade Custom Batmobile Replica Car is actually pretty cool! You KNOW you want one! It looks like it was made from a 1970's Corvette. In fact, the license plate says, "BAT-VET" ( I love that, ha ha! ). Plus, those HUGE tail-fins are pretty sweet!

It's built by Leif Garvin from Stockholm. It took him over 20 000 hours of work and $1 million to finish it. The engine is an 460 Ford big block V8, 700 hp and it's built on a 1973 Lincoln Continental.
Vintage Advertising: THE JOKER & Hostess Fruit Pies!
Oh Man, People just go totally crazy for Hostess Fruit Pies, ha ha! OK, does everybody remember these wonderful Vintage Ads that were inside comic books in the 1970's & 1980's? I know that when I was a little kid I used to really love them. The pies were great too. My favorite was Cherry & if they didn't have that then Apple would be an acceptable choice. Anyway, these old advertisements are fun to read. Just click on it for a larger, more readable, version. Also, be sure to check the BAT-ARCHIVES for many more that have been posted in the past. The archives are located on the left side, toward the middle of the page. It's also a great way to read almost 3000 other posts!

K-9 Was The Perfect Ring Bearer At This Doctor Who Wedding
This geeky wedding had an adorable robotic ring bearer in K-9 from Doctor Who. The remote-controlled cutie was built by bride Kelsie Curtis' Dad who also made them a TARDIS cake topper complete with blinking light and a sonic screwdriver cake cutter. It's not clear who's the bigger geek here - Kelsie or her Dad - but either way it made for a wonderful wedding!
See more pictures after the break...
