Bruce Campbell Says Yes to ‘Army of Darkness 2′, But Should We Remain Skeptical?

Apparently, in real life, the boomstick is his mouth.

Bruce Campbell took to the stage at the Wizard World Nashville Comic Con on Friday, answering a direct fan question about the possibility of an Army of Darkness sequel, prompting the 55 year old big-chinned cult icon to say...

"The last one was 22 years ago. I just haven't been racing to do it. Sam Raimi is just a little bit busy making the biggest movies in Hollywood. I use to be busy. Now I'm not. That's why I'm here.

"Ash would have to stop occasionally from chasing some deadite to catch his breath. Maybe we could do that, I guess. That would be exciting. Fight in a walker. That would be all right. Hit them with my cane. Fake them out, have a fake heart attack, distract a zombie. I like it... [Seriously] All right, sir, the answer is yes."

So, the answer is yes, but the questions now shift to "when?".

Last month, Bloody Disgusting caught up with Fede Alvarez, the director of the Evil Dead remake, who said:

"The pressure is on them now. Because as far as I know, and heard, Sam [Raimi] is really determined to get Army Of Darkness 2 happening, [...] He is actually writing [it now]."

This all follows comments made back in March by Raimi and producing partner Rob Tapert that indicated that the project was in the works, meaning this may actually be on the front-burner for Raimi, but it's also important to remember the skepticism that Campbell had back then when asked about the future of the franchise by Coming Soon.

"Sam threatens this every six months, [...] I've heard this a thousand times, because in the back of his mind, he never wants to let go, because he loved making these movies. We all loved making them together. They were a nightmare to make, very difficult, but they lasted the test of time, so he's not going to let that go, and I'm never going to say 'no.' It'll be me and a walker fighting some other old guy. But that's what he does and who knows? It may happen."

Obviously, we're not privy to the evolution of Raimi's process from March to September to now, the behind-the-scenes hunger for more Evil Dead following the remake's nearly $100 million worldwide take, or whether Campbell (Raimi's long time collaborator and friend) has seen Raimi's progress for himself. We have no idea why this now seems more likely, but something made Bruce Campbell change a maybe to a yes, and that is pretty groovy.

‘Presidential Monsters’ Turns Historical Figures Into Actual Nightmares

Many would argue you need the mindset of a monster to become a politician. So why not mash up famous presidents and Universal movie monsters? That seems to be the thrust of the Presidential Monsters series.

Courtesy of Heroes In Action Toys, we do have to admit, these are kind of amusing in both their tributes to old action figures and mashing up Presidents and classic monsters.

The figures themselves are packaged and largely designed to look like Megos, which is actually pretty amusing. Most of the energy actually seems to be focused on the head sculpts, which do look really good: mixing classic monster makeup and the recognizable features of a President isn’t a particularly easy artistic feat.

OK, so not all the puns are up to the level of “Baracula”, but where else are you going to see eight inches of Nixon as the Gill Man? Here are photos of all seven:
