The Bat-Blog is happy to announce another one of our famous contests! Enter here to win a FREE Mint-In-Package Hot Wheels Special Edition Die Cast Car of the 1966 TV Show Batmobile ( George Barris style )! This is the super-RARE one that you could ONLY get if you were a member of the Official Mattel's Hot Wheels "Red Line Club". This is a different version than the regular car they sold in stores ( and have re-released ). This one has special tires/rims, the windshield is clear ( instead of blue, looks way better & more realistic ), & a few other features. It's really really nice! I mean, it's AWESOME! Speaking of "nice", This car was donated by a Bat-Blog Reader known as the BATFAN! He has sent us stuff to give-away in the past & I always like that! Seriously, this is an extremely generous gesture that I really appreciate, thank you BATFAN! A friend of mine named Brian has a really neat blog titled WHAT MY DAD SAW. I've always liked the design of his header for the blog because it's an old vintage photo of a car's rear-view mirror where you can see the little kids in the backseat, it's very appropriate & kind of clever. It's also sort of a very personal site where he reminisces about his childhood & his father's love of photography. Recently he has been getting into making animated gifs from the stereo images of View-Master Reels. His main focus is the packet of the 1966 BATMAN TV Show reel set. The images are pretty cool & if you remember this old vintage toy then it's kinda neat to see these old photos again, very cool! Here's a link to see more:

Every now & then I am contacted by companies that make Batman products & asked to do a review. I almost always say, "Yes!" ...but I also warn them that I'm gonna be totally honest about it & if it's a bad product I'll say so. I'm not a mean guy, I just try to have decent integrity. Especially about Batman stuff because I really care about the character. Anyway, I gotta say that the Batman T-shirt I received from WEAR YOUR BEER is even better than the photo on their online catalog. Now, nothing personal about their website design. It's actually put together really well & is very secure. Plus, the product photos are actually really good. They sent me the "Vintage-Style Batman Logo" T-shirt in the mail ( shown up above, 1st photo ). It arrived quickly & was packaged very well. Like I said earlier, the shirt looked a whole lot better in person. The silkscreen graphics are VERY nice quality & so is the shirt. It's NOT one of those cheap flimsy T-shirts like you might find at some retail stores. It's nice & thick, looks like it will last a long time. I was pretty pleased with it overall & actually it's now one of my favorites. Now about their website again. They carry a HUGE selection of many different characters & have about 20 Batman/Joker products. But, all the Batman-related merchandise they do have are really great! Just think of it this way, they cherry-picked the best stuff & didn't list a lot of crap, ha ha! They also have some pretty cool JOKER shirts, a neat Batman Hoodie, & a Batman Baseball Cap that I'd actually really like to have. Overall, I think this review went pretty well. So, if you're interesting in getting some new Bat-Gear be sure to check out the WEAR YOUR BEER website today!

In honor of the 15th Anniversary of the now-classic BATMAN: MASK OF THE PHANTASM Animated Movie (1993-2008) I made this Background Wallpaper to brighten your desktop! Of course it uses the graphics from the cool vintage movie poster. If you're a serious Batman Fan & you have never seen this film then you really owe it to yourself to do so, it's GREAT! The animation is totally top-notch & is actually one of the best animated Batman movies out there. It's really one of my favorite Batman stories. I remember when it originally came out because I was pretty excited! It came out around the time that the much celebrated TV cartoon series was about to end & it was a very nice ending. It's got some very cool CGI computer animation blended in with the traditional artwork. But it's so seamless that, in most areas, you can't even tell. Plus, it sort of raised the bar a little in animation quality. Hmmm, thinking about how this movie is having it's 15th Year Anniversary is starting to make me feel kinda old, ha ha! It's been out now on DVD for quite awhile & is worthy of renting. So, think about it the next time you can't find anything to rent at the video store. Actually, it's worthy of owning, ha ha, here's a link:
OK, we have extensively featured the Classic CAPTAIN ACTION Doll here at the Bat-Blog a few times. Mainly covering the Batman & Robin Costumes that were made in the 1960's. Well, here's a really great Vintage TV Commercial showing both the doll & it's many costumes you could have bought back then. It also features the Batman figure so I thought I'd pop it up here, enjoy!

The other night I was surprised to find a ton of "Batmobile photos" in my e-mail, ha ha! A Bat-Blog Reader named Michael sent along these pics with the explanation that he, his girlfriend, and Uncle were out one night & saw the "Batman Returns" movie Batmobile being hauled from one location to another. Now, you all know he must have freaked out! This happened in his hometown of Globe, Arizona on January 19th, 2009 ( my birthday! ). OK, I didn't get very much information so I'm not sure if this car is a replica or an original screen-used prop. But either way it still looks incredible & if it is a replica car then they did an extremely good job on it, it ROCKS! Seeing the car in person must have been a really great experience & you can tell by all the smiles that it was a very fun moment. Thank you very much Michael for sharing these personal photos. Getting to meet other like-minded Batman Fans is really the rewarding part of me doing this blog!
