The TARDIS is Parked on Earl’s Court Road; Take a Tour With Google Maps!

Tardiss

Has the Time Lord struck a deal with Google or this another of Google Maps' clever easter eggs? You be the judge, because currently if you zoom on over to Earl's Court Road with Google Streetview you'll notice a very familiar, blue Police Box.

Click on the double white arrows pointing to said box and WHOOSH you're inside the TARDIS!

You can then click and zoom to your heart's (or hearts') content all around the console room. Sadly, you cannot access further into the TARDIS to see the library or swimming pool, but regardless, this is definitely one cool easter egg.

The BastardCast vs. ‘Moth City’ Creator/Writer/Artist, Tim Gibson

BastardCast-409-Art-Tim-Gibson

This time on The BastardCast, Jeremy and Jason welcome Moth City comic book creator Tim Gibson to discuss his innovative and fun neo-noir digital comic, being a part of Thrillbent.com, whether he prefers digital or print, and whether interacting with the audience is a necessity for an indie comic creator.

More? Mr. Gibson gives us his take on the whole DRM Free issue, what drove him to base his story within the Chinese civil war, and we ask the WETA veteran and computer animator, whether we are all too obsessed with box office.

Unfamiliar with Moth City? Shame on you, but as a treat, we've got the latest issue of the book embedded below for you to thumb through while listening to the podcast.

Isn't that rad? We know! We are the raddest dudes!

A ‘Dusk Till Dawn’ Television Series is Actually On The Way!

20130813-223527.jpg

It's been a while since anyone has heard anything from Robert Rodriguez on the future of his cult hit From Dusk Till Dawn. The action/horror made for a great movie and in the eyes of Robert, also makes for great TV. Now, nearly two decades after Seth and Richard Gecko entered a bar full of vampires, it looks like he'll be getting his wish.

The Machete Kills director has signed on to write, produce, and direct a series based on his 1996 film starring Quentin Tarantino and George Clooney. In an announcement made by Production Weekly on Twitter, the series has been confirmed to begin production in mid-October.

20130813-223249.jpg

This new series will be put together in a joint effort from Spanish-language network Univision and new English-language cable channel El Rey. This will be different from most of Robert's usual work, seeing as the director has stuck to the big screen in recent years, but the man knows how to spin a few tales and make them work. The only issue is adapting the Dusk Till Dawn franchise to small screen and making it work for an audience that might never have even seen the movie.

Still it might be a bit much. The vampire genre has been a bit overplayed and over saturated, just look at what happened to True Blood and the whacked out seasons it's had. With no cast announcements or even if the series will be based in the universe of the film, this series only has hype to go on. We'll see how far that takes it once October comes around.

Cranston on Lex Luthor? Waiting for the Call

bryan cranston breaking bad

If there's one piece of casting speculation bigger than who's going to play Batman in Batman vs. Superman, it's who's going to play Lex Luthor in the same film. Now we're not even sure that Lex Luthor is a character in the film, but considering the LexCorp Easter Eggs in Man of Steel, and the fact that lack of information hasn't stopped the internet from speculating before, people have already started playing the casting game. And there are two leading candidates so far, Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston and Low Winter Sun's Mark Strong.

Well at least one of those AMC actors is talking about the possibility of playing Superman's greatest nemesis, and it's the man who's about to retire his meth lab and will need a new criminal empire to lord over: Bryan Cranston. While talking to Metro, Cranston was asked to comment on the casting rumors, to which he replied, "Give me a call. I like Lex Luthor. I think he's misunderstood. He's a loveable, sweet man."

Leave it to the man who played Walter White to see the sunny side of Lex Luthor. Cranston would be interesting casting as he has experience playing what in essence is a sympathetic villain. He also has experience with the DCU playing a young Jim Gordon in the animated Batman: Year One, and, most importantly, he has experience being bald. Still, all this is rumor and conjecture, so we'll wrap this up saying Cranston is willing, but there's not yet a hint of a dotted line to sign on. Just sayin'.
