‘Falling Skies’ Coming Back for Season Four

falling-skies

Good news for fans of the TNT alien invasion drama Falling Skies as the cable network has given the greenlight for the series to get a fourth season well in advance of the end of the show's current season.

The series, which is executive produced by Steven Spielberg, follows TV's Noah Wylie as Tom Mason, a former college professor turned leader of a resistance force against alien invasion of the planet Earth. Co-starring Moon Bloodgood, Will Patton, Drew Roy, Connor Jessup, Maxim Knight, Seychelle Gabriel, Mpho Koaho, Colin Cunningham and Sarah Carter, Falling Skies has enjoyed commercial and critical success since it premiere in 2011.

For TNT, the renewal of Falling Skies is the proverbial no-brainer. According to Deadline, the show averages 5.8 million viewers in Live + 7 delivery and currently sits as basic cable's number one scripted series with adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 for the summer-to-date. That's not Walking Dead numbers, but still impressive for a basic cable series. Falling Skies is currently in its third season, which wraps on August 4th. The 10 episode fourth season will debut sometime in the summer of 2014.

Falling Skies airs Sunday nights at 10 pm EST/PST.

Sam Rockwell Would Love to Reprise ‘Iron Man 2′ Villain Justin Hammer for ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’

sam-rockwell-iron-man-2

Iron Man 2 wasn't a very good film, but feel free to say otherwise in the comment section below. One of it's saving graces, however, was whenever Justin Hammer was on screen. The egocentric arms dealer of H.A.M.M.E.R. - portrayed by Sam Rockwell - was always entertaining to watch. From trying to hide his own failed Iron Man test to getting Whiplash his bird, and, eventually, watching him get hauled off to jail, he was gold in every seen. Speaking of being hauled off to jail, this make him one of the few villains to survive a Marvel film; the bad guys usually get killed in some anticlimactic fashion. So, just where is Justin Hammer these days?

While there was no mention of him, or his namesake company in Iron Man 3, the possibility of Hammer's return has always been there. Perhaps in Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.?

In a recent interview with Vulture to promote his new film The Way, Way Back, the actor expressed his interest in reprising his role saying:

"Ah! I was hoping to come back in one of the Avengers films and come after Gwyneth Paltrow, because that's what they set up, that I was going to get revenge on Gwyneth for getting me arrested or something. I could do a Cape Fear thing with Gwyneth. But they've got a lot of mojo in there already, so I don't know if they need another pirate like me in the mix there! [Laughs.] Maybe S.H.I.E.L.D. is the way to go."

It wouldn't be an insane notion, a subplot involving Hammer and S.H.I.E.L.D.. Until anything official is announced by the studio heads at Marvel, Disney or ABC, this is just Sam expressing where he would have liked his character to go. Return to your lives and keep trying to guess what kind of marketing the studio is going to come up with beside giant S.H.I.E.L.D. logos on billboards.

Ray Park Wants to Get Back into the ‘Wars’

darth_maul

There's probably a long list of Star Wars characters people are anxious to see return to that galaxy far, far way, and Disney seems ready to give you what you want seeing as how they're planning on about one Star Wars film per year as soon as the new trilogy kicks off in 2015. Amongst the obvious pickings are the roguish smuggler Han Solo, the bounty hunter Boba Fett and the Sith Lord Darth Maul, but only one of those so far has expressed his interest in returning for a new adventure. Guess which one.

Appearing at Wizard Con (and reported through MTV Geek), actor Ray Park expressed his extreme interest in returning to the Star Wars universe to play Darth Maul, a fan favorite character from Episode I: The Phantom Menace who got a, shall we say, unceremonious ejection from the narrative at the end of the film. To quote directly from Park:

"Just give me food and water, and I'm there."

But would it be possible? Why not? Maul has appeared several times in Star Wars comics both pre- and post-death, in addition, the character was featured in an episode of the animated Star Wars: Clone Wars. For his part Park says that he wants his dual-bladed lightsaber back, but "with something a little bit spicy." Park also says that he'd like to go shirtless, in order to show off some more of Maul's elaborate body art.

No official word yet on whether or not a Maul film is, in fact, in the works, but given the character's enduring popularity, and the cult status of Park himself, it's probably definitely in the mix.

Marking 12 years since the day I nearly died

Going out for a drive with your mother to run some errands is something that millions of teenagers do every day. After making the rounds to the grocery store, the bank or car wash you head home to prepare dinner and spend time with the family. On March 1, 1999 however, my mother and I never made it home. While traveling down the highway, a car in the opposite lane went through a red light and hit my mother's car (she was driving). Our 4x4 Blazer spun across the highway before smashing into a telephone pole. I was in the passenger's seat where the telephone pole had struck and was trapped. I was in and out of consciousness. I recall the first thing I saw was my left hand and it was bleeding. My mother was holding it. It was a cold day and several people were standing around watching us. One man said help was on the way. I couldn't feel nor see my right arm and feared it had been cut off. I kept passing out and when I woke up, my mother was gone and I could hear and feel a drill on the door that was crushed up against me. It took firemen twenty minutes to get me out with the jaws of life.

In the ambulance, my leather jacket was cut off of my body and I was screaming that it was my bestfriend's birthday. I remember arriving at the hospital but then blacked out. When I woke up again I was in ICU and recall seeing a clock on the wall that was set to milary time and several men and women in white coats. I thought I was going to die. I honestly thought this was it and I didn't know what happend to my mother. When I awoke again I was surrounded by what looked like my entire family. Everyone was crying and upset, my mother was gripping my hand. Turns out I had 17 fractures, two blood transfusions and three titanium rods were put in my body; two in my right arm, one in my right leg. Doctor's weren't sure if I'd be able to walk again.

It's amazing when you can no longer do simple things like tie your shoes or go to the bathroom by yourself. Standing is impossible and it is a truly scary thought indeed when no one knows if you will even be able to walk. I spent about two months in two seperate hospitals and was released early because of my determination in therepy. I pushed myself because I wanted to go home and be with my family. The power of prayer also prevailed; I was told I should have died and it was a miracle I was alive. Furthermore I did NOT sustain any head or back injuries. Once I began therepy I was told I should be walking within a year and a half, maybe one year. I was walking again in nine months. I was apparently a miracle and it was because of the love of my family and friends and prayer.

So now it's twelve years later. I have since gotten the metal rods removed from my arm but still have the one in my leg. I have scars on my arm, wrist and leg and suffer from bone pain when winter hits or when it rains. But I am alive so I have no complaints. It wasn't my time to go. I truly feel I lived to be part of my niece's lives. They were born a few years after the accident. I continue to draw breath for them. I have two successful careers as a teacher and a model, have my loving family and friends and I beat the odds by living and walking. Life hasn't been easy, but that ordeal taught me alot about my self, my faith and the importance of family and loved ones.

An encounter with the Full Metal Alchemist

On Saturday, March 19th I hosted an exclusive dinner for voice actor Vic Mignogna (best known as Ed Elric from Full Metal Alchemist) and members of his fan club.
This was something that I had been planning for a while and I had called The Cheesecake Factory in advance to confirm that they would take our reservation. I was assured that they would but when it was the day to actually make the reservation, I was told that I couldn't because our party was too large and they only take reservations during lunch hour. Needless to say, I began to panic.

Dozens of emails were all ready sent out to Rangers and I arrived at the mall early to try to find another resturant who could accommodate our party. No one would. Now that plan B failed it was time to move onto C. I would still meet everyone outside The Cheescake Factory and once they all arrived we would take the party to the food court around the corner. The plan worked and Vic arrived to a cheering crowd bringing fellow actor Todd Haberkorn (who plays Ling on "Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood) . I went to greet him, introduced myself and told him the situation. Unfortunately Vic had some news of his own; he had a prior commitment and couldn't stay for dinner. Vic also inquired why I didn't attend the anime show (and jokingly pulled my hair and pretended to choke me) and invited me to the show the next day as his guest. I promised to attend in the morning before traveling to Philadelphia for a photoshoot (how could I say no?) and he made the call to make sure I would get into the show. I accompained Vic as he addressed his fans, expressing his love and appreciation for them and apologizing that he couldn't stay. He did encourage us to remain and have dinner with the fellow rangers and then proceeded to take pictures and sign autographs. If anyone wants to witness a true display of fan appreciation, this is the man to watch. He is genuinely gracious and generous to his supporters and was sure he spoke to every person present. In true Vic fashion he gave out plenty of hugs and kisses (yes, I got some too). It was considerate of him to spend time with us even though he could not stay and also bringing Todd as an added bonus.

Afterwards us Rangers shared dinner and it was wonderful to get to know each other and make new friends. One of them even gave me some scented soaps as a thank you for organizing the dinner. Sunday morning (after getting very little sleep because of a current cold I'm fighting) I threw on my Zatanna costume (and went with a very different look; wavy hair and natural makeup because I had the shoot afterwards) and headed to the anime convention with my ex husband. At the front desk there was a pass waiting for me courtesy of Vic and we were lead to the room he was in. Head of security, Kiwi was there to take care of us and I got a great big hug and kiss from Vic when he was able to come over. He asked how the dinner went, wanted to make sure I got into the show okay and thanked me for organizing the dinner. I was incredibly grateful for his generosity for getting me into the show and had a fun time shopping and talking to con goers. When it was time to leave, I thanked Vic again and he said he hopes we will meet again soon. I hope so too.

After my vintage shoot (I loved it!), it was finally time to go home and rest. The dinner didn't turned out as planned but with a little faith, perseverance not to mention an incredible guest of honor, it turned out beautifully and I got to attend the show as his guest. Safe to say, things definately turned out amazingly well!

P.S.
I got a Ed's State Alchemist pocket watch!!!

God Blessxoxo

Media blames Batman and cosplay for the behavior of a Mad Man

On Friday July, 20th the world woke up to the news that a crazed gun man walked into a midnight screening of the Warner Brothers film "Dark Knight Rises" and opened fire. Like many, I watched the report stunned at this horrific act of violence. I was angry that this had happened but my anger grew as the reporters claimed that it was a man in costume who committed this crime. One reporter suggested that he was dressed as Bane. The topic then shifted to the violence in the film and that it had somehow inspired James Eagan Holmes to gun down movie goers even though no one in the theatre had seen the movie yet. Even after a survivor from the theatre called into the Today Show on NBC saying the man was not in costume but was wearing body armor and a gas mask to protect himself against the gas he ignited, the reporters remained ignorant and still pointed the finger at Batman and "passionate" people in costumes.

The media is no stranger to sensationalism (and reporting things that aren't true yet failing to correct themselves) but in this case, many people in the comic and cosplay world were offended. Reports were essentially saying that it was one of us who went on a murderous rampage. A cosplayer took it too far. A comic fan wanted life to imitate art. It was Batman's fault. It's comic books fault. It's the cosplayers fault. Why was the blame shifted to us and not the lunatic who committed this crime? Why were they making excuses for him? Why were they bringing the art of comics, cosplay and movies into this? People have been committing violent acts since the dawn of time, before there were movies, comics or indoor plumbing. Jack the Ripper murdered prostitutes in London in 1888. Cain killed his brother Able in the Bible. In the Middle Ages acts of torture included limb and finger removal, bone breaking and boiling. There was no Batman to blame, only the perpetrator. Because of the Colorado shooting and the media spotlighting comics and cosplay, I wouldn't be surpried if Movie Theatres begin banning anyone in costume for Midnight Showings.

I have been a victim of the press and it's sensationalism. A few years ago my grandfather was murdered in his own home. Because my Uncle is a Police Officer, the local news and media was all over the story, calling it "Father of a Police Officer Murdered In Home". Dealing with the death of a loved one is hard enough but it's a million times worse when they are taken from you. The press kept hounding my mother who unwillingly became our family spokesperson to help get the word out to catch the murderer. The press was very insensitive. I broke down in hysterics when I saw my grandfather's body being carried out of his home in a body bag on television. When it was time for the funeral, the reporters and camera men had surrounded the church, snapping shots of anything they could get. They went into a frenzy when my Uncle's Police District arrived to pay their respects along with the Special Crimes Unit. After the casket was loaded into the hearse, a camera man jumped in my face to snap a shot of me walking with my mother. She grabbed my hand. I turned my tear stained face away so he couldn't get the shot. They didn't care about me or my family and many of them reported things that weren't true. But it didn't matter. They just wanted to get a story.

Safe to say, I don't like reporters very much and strive to be different from them when it comes to my own writing. I am going to be very clear in making my point: The shooting in Colorado was the fault of James Eagan Holmes. Not Hollywood, not Batman and not the cosplay community. New reports from the police are saying that this was done with "calculation and deliberation". His apartment was rigged with explosives and he murdered 12 people and wounded 58 others. Unconfirmed reports stating that he was inspired by the Joker are irrelevant. He wanted to kill. He's a murderer, just like Jack the Ripper and other madmen before him. I can tell you personally that you cannot reason with madness and chances are you will never get your answer as to why it happened. I still don't know why my 80 year old Grandfather was murdered; why he was chopped up in his own home. I can tell you that it won't change anything even if I knew the answer. In all honestly, I don't care. I don't want to hear the excuses of the man who took my Grandfather away. NOTHING will justify that and NOTHING will justify the shooting in Colorado. Like Micheal Cane memorable said in "The Dark Knight:"
"Some men just want to watch the world burn."

*Sigh* First Look at The New RoboCop Suit

Ermahgerd Robokerp!

Today, a few set photos snapped from the set of Jose Padilha's RoboCop reboot found their way online. From them, we see a guy in a cybernetic suit. We can assume that this is our first look at the new RoboCop. We can’t say for sure though.

Here’s the thing. We know, from script details, that OmniCorp -the evil corporation at the center of Robot Technology- has many failed attempts with its cybernetic drone program aka RoboCops). So, it’s possible this is a look at one of those failed designs. I for one, hope it is the latter and that the final design has some semblance to the original (1987) film . I mean, my god, did the the movies design team raid Daft Punk’s helmet closet or something? As for the rest of the suit, did they steal the Iron Man suit and spray-paint it black? Ugh, It’s awful!

I’m not going to judge this movie on the suit alone, that would be unfair. Imma hold out for the trailer before I go full tilt. The suit is not winning me over, though, I’ll tell you that much.

What do you readers think? Sound off in the comment section below.

RoboCop also stars Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, and Samuel L. Jackson, with Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael K. Williams, Jay Baruchel, Jennifer Ehle, and Marianne Jean-Baptiste. The film is set for release on August 9, 2013.

In RoboCop, the year is 2029 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex's life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.

Director Jos Padilha (Elite Squad) reimagines the tale of part man, part machine, all cop starring Joel Kinnaman (The Killing) as the title character, Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight Rises) as the scientist who creates RoboCop, and Samuel L. Jackson (The Avengers) as media mogul Pat Novak. RoboCop is being produced by Strike Entertainment's Marc Abraham and Eric Newman, with Eric Carraro as Executive Producer. The film is currently in pre-production and slated for a summer 2013 release.

James Cameron Reviews ‘Prometheus’ & Talks About How He Almost Directed ‘Jurassic Park’

The “go to” guy of Hollywood, James Cameron is a director who can do know wrong. He could film a reboot of the worst movie on the planet – that sickly horrible film that is Troll 2 – and turn it into a feature film capable of winning Best Picture at next year’s Oscars. But I digress, Cameron, with his many years of experience has a keen eye for feature films and strong opinions of those directed by other. So how does he feel about Prometheus?

With his directorial work on Aliens, Cameron was the first director to take over the Alien franchise after the departure of director and creator Ridley Scott. So go figure, Cameron has something to say about the creator returning to the Alien franchise. In a recent chat with Moviefone, Cameron said,

I enjoyed Prometheus; I thought it was great. I thought it was Ridley returning to science fiction with gusto, with great tactical performance, beautiful photography, great native 3D. There might have been a few things that I would have done differently, but that's not the point, you could say that about any movie.

Turns out Cameron enjoyed the flick so much he watched it twice!

Oh, yeah. I'm a huge movie fan. I love watching films. I love watching films with the family, with the kids; I love watching films myself. I was out there opening night [for] Prometheus. I didn’t go to the Thursday midnight screening, but I was there Friday. I like to still get excited about movies and whether they pay off or not, that's not the point - the fact that there's still an excitement around a new movie, about the an unveiling of a new movie....Prometheus is a film I saw twice, and I thought about it ahead of time. The first time I would just enjoy it, go for the ride, not be too analytical and the second time I would allow myself to be a little more analytical about, you know, where the lights were and how they lit the shots with all the people in the helmets, how they probably had to do CG faceplates like we did on Avatar, things like that. But, sometimes, so that I preserve a fun, fan-like viewing experience, I won't get into that level. I'll just go for the ride, like, consciously.

Speaking of going for a ride, in a quote from the Huffington Post Cameron briefly touched on how he at one time almost purchased the rights to Jurassic Park before Steven Spielberg. And just like his films today, Jurassic Park would have included aliens,

I tried to buy the book rights and [Spielberg] beat me to it by a few hours. But when I saw the film, I realized that I was not the right person to make the film, he was. Because he made a dinosaur movie for kids, and mine would have been Aliens with dinosaurs, and that wouldn’t have been fair. Dinosaurs are for 8-year-olds. We can all enjoy it, too, but kids get dinosaurs and they should not have been excluded for that. His sensibility was right for that film, I'd have gone further, nastier, much nastier.

Imagine how different that movie would have been if Spielberg hadn’t gotten the rights before Cameron. Yeah, we’re shuddering at the thought of it, too.

Fans Recreates ‘Ant-Man’ Test Footage Shown At Comic Con

Fans have been clamoring to see Edgar Wright‘s Ant-Man test footage that was shown at this years Comic Con ever since the word got out about the screening. We were told by Marvel exec Victoria Alonso that we’d get a look at a more polished version of the test footage soon.

That wasn’t enough for the Ant-Man fan and artist known as Samurai Jack on Deviant Art . He was present at the screening and decided to help a brother fan out by recreating from memory the footage in storyboard form. Then YouTube user Shartimus Prime stepped up and turned those story boards into an animated version of the footage that everyone wants to see.

It’s not the real thing, but it might help many of you out there get the gist of Wright’s ideas on the character. Would an Ant-Man movie get you to the theater or is there another Marvel Character that you would rather see first?

The Ladies of ‘Arrow’ – First Look at Kelly Hu as China White & Jessica de Gouw Talks Helena/Huntress

When Green Arrow comes to the CW this fall he won’t be alone. There’s been a whole slew of DC characters announced to make appearances from Merlyn to Deadshot to China White and Huntress. I’m especially excited to see those last two ladies, because, well they’re lady superheroes. All right, one’s a villain, but still, lady comic book characters appearing in another medium! And there’s more than one, unlike the lovely but token Black Widow of The Avengers. What can I say, I take comfort in little victories like these. Here’s hoping Arrow‘s Laurel Lance gets a pair of fishnets soon.

Playing tough chick, mobster butt-kickin’ Helena Bertinelli, a.k.a. The Huntress, is Jessica de Gouw who recently shared with KsiteTV what it’s like playing both the secret identity and the superhero,

I play Helena, but I'm also The Huntress, so I have to be able to hold my own. The duality of the role, it's challenging. I have to be able to kick butt and all of that, and I'm quite feminine in my normal every day [life]... the fighting and all of that is new and interesting for me, but it's a good thing. I'm really enjoying it. I've kind of been thrust into it, so I might as well just jump in, right?" she says. Jessica teases that the Huntress is introduced into Arrow "with a punch." "She comes in strong."

I love that they’re playing up what a fighter Helena is but at the same time she’s quite the woman, just as comfortable in pair of heels as she is wielding a crossbow. Read the whole interview here.

Gouw hasn’t shared any details about her Huntress costume other than hinting there will be some of the iconic purples featured. China White (Kelly Hu) on the other hand, of her we’ve got our first look,

All right, so they’ve gone for the more traditional black catsuit look, but I like that they kept the bleached, white hair. She’s not called China WHITE for nothing.

What are your thoughts on Arrow and the DC characters they’re incorporating? Are you excited for the show?

Arrow airs on the CW October 1oth.

D10 Engagement Ring

I have to say that nerdy engagement rings that symbolize someone’s love for a game, movie, or book make me happy. I think it’s cool when anything has that sort of impact on someone; it’s similar to someone getting a tattoo from his or her favorite fandom.

DeviantArt member dragonslorefury and her partner are serious role players, so she designed this D10 ring and had her father make it. She wanted it to be unique, and it definitely is! The D10 can even be removed and placed with a different stone if she likes.

Where is my Minds?

Where is my Minds?

I never really bothered with finding the datapads in Halo: Reach. I found a couple lying around the place but I never gave them much attention. Clear that was a mistake as it turns out they gave a wholly unique insight into the Halo Universe. It would seem that 3 AI's known as the Mind were actively 'babysitting' mankind...

The Forward Unto Dawn website has done some pretty good analysis of the information found on the datapads so check out their work - it's divided into three sections One, Two, Three!

Here's a full transcript of the datapads.

This time on The Bastardcast, Jason and Jeremy team up with Topless Robot overlord Rob Bricken to talk about the Elba/Bond rumors, the Evil Dead and Iron Man 3 trailers, Clark Kent becoming a blogger, the King of the Nerds depressing the shit out of us, the future of Nintendo, and the great action figure scaling wars.

After making the week’s headlines their bitch, Jason and Jeremy free Rob from their spell and then take on the greatest debate of all time (until next week) in VERSUS, when they ask who would win in an epic battle: JASON VOORHEES or A BOX FULL OF KITTENS!!! Live Action Trailer – COD: Black Ops II – Everything’s Better With More Robert Downey Jr.

Activision has a new trailer out for it’s upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops II game and they’ve upped the celebrity bar with none other than Robert Downey Jr.You might remember that Activision used Jimmy Kimmel, and Kobe Bryant in their last Black Ops commercial in 2010.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II hits store shelves worldwide on November 13, for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The game story line and soundtrack was created by David S. Goyer (co-writer of The Dark Knight Rises) and Trent Reznor (Academy Award-winning composer of The Social Network).

The single-player campaign will feature two connected storylines, one set in the 1970s through 1980s and the other in 2025. The protagonist of Black Ops, Alex Mason returns as the protagonist in the Cold War section, where he will be fighting in proxy wars for the United States in the Cold War. Known locations for this section of the game include multiple sites in Central America and in Afghanistan during the Soviet invasion. This section of the game will also see the rise to infamy of the game’s primary antagonist, Raul Menendez. Mason’s friend and colleague Frank Woods will also return, and narrate the story into the 2025 section of the game. The 2025 section of the game features Alex Mason’s son David as a protagonist. In it, a new cold war has broken out between China and the United States after China bans the export of rare earth elements following a cyberattack that cripples the Chinese Stock Exchange. In this era, war is defined by robotics, cyber warfare, unmanned vehicles and other modern technology. Taking advantage of this stand-off, Menendez attempts to bring the two powers to a full-blown war by inciting conflicts between the two. Known locations for this section of the game include Los Angeles, Singapore and Socotra, Yemen.

In the 2025 section of the game, the player will have access to special ‘Strike Force missions’, that feature permanent death and the outcome of which can affect the course of the campaign’s storyline. It has been hinted at that the side-plot of Viktor Reznov and his relationship with Alex Mason, which began in Black Ops, will be continued in Black Ops II.

STGCC 2012 Day 2 Event Report

Continued from Day 1.

Day 2 of the Singapore Toy, Game, and Comic Convention 2012 brings us to the event’s artist alley — which seems you just grow by leaps and bounds with each succeeding year! A testament to the creativity of artists and comic writers from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand — there’s plenty of upcoming artists from the area to encourage and support

Back at the Dealer’s Hall, there is more stuff to ogle and buy. One of the biggest booths at the event was by Japanese toymaker Kotobukiya, who pulled out all the stops featuring their Marvel and DC Bishoujo line, as well as moe cast off statues from anime and video games. Another wallet-draining exhibit was set up by Bon Japan, who brought in a veritable treasure trove of Japanese sweets and snacks~ om nom nom

In the Stage Area, crowds of cosplayers and J-pop fans screamed and cheered for Japanese singer Piko’s first performance in Singapore. Piko — an utaite or vocalist who specializes in human renditions of Vocaloid songs, rocked the crowd with a full set of around six songs. After his performance, the screaming crowds were replaced by massive queues of figure collectors, as Hot Toys sculptors and designers came up to sign copies of their plastic masterpieces.

Last but not least was STGCC’s Cosplay Catwalk — featuring not just the best in Singapore cosplay, but Japanese cosplay idols Jacky Dosai, Touya Hibiki, and Kousaka Yun as well! This year’s event is not a competition — as mistakenly reported by some Manila sources, but a friendly showcase of international cosplayers from the region. With the conclusion of the Cosplay Catwalk, the STGCC 2012 also came to a close.

Major props to the STGCC organizers this year, who took extra pains to make sure that the event ran as smoothly as possible. I especially loved the choice of venue this year, as the Marina Bay Sands Expo was not just awe-inspiring, but offered a variety of non-convention related activities as well *coughHarryPotterTheExhibitioncough*

I really, really had fun this year — and I can’t wait again for next year :D
