Can you believe the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special, The Day of the Doctor, is a mere month and a half away!? Time sure does fly, even without a TARDIS. Take a peek below to see the new, tantalizing images the BBC released today.
That above image sure looks like a much better, official version of this.
Here's the mysterious, not-a-Doctor, John Hurt at the console. See what's peeking out of his jacket? Looks to me like a sonic screwdriver! And I'm still holding to my theory that waist coat he's wearing is Eight's and that leather jacket is what becomes Nine's.
Speaking of Hurt's Doctor, the true mad man with a box, Steven Moffat spoke with SFX (via Geek Tyrant) elusively-y'know, that was a typo, meant to type exclusively, but really, elusively works too-about what this new Doctor is all about,
Why not a mayfly Doctor, who exists for one show only? I'd often thought about that. Would it be weird in the run of the series to have the 45th Doctor turn up and be played by Johnny Depp or someone? Would that be a cool thing to do? There was also the idea that if you could bring one classic Doctor back, you'd actually, impossibly, want it to be William Hartnell. You wouldn't want any of the others. You'd want him to come and say 'What in the name of God have I turned into?' That's the confrontation that you most want to see, to celebrate 50 years. Going round and round in circles on it I just thought 'What about a Doctor that he never talks about?' And what if it is a Doctor who's done something terrible, who's much deadlier and more serious, who represents that thing that is the undertow in both David and Matt. You know there's a terrible old man inside them. Well, here he is, facing the children he becomes, as it were.
Intriguing, Moffat. Tell me more. Or just make me wait until November 23rd, whatever you prefer.
Well there's a sight for sore eyes! Ten in the TARDIS! Oh, David Tennant, how she's missed you.
And not to be left out, here's Eleven, Matt Smith in what will be his penultimate episode as The Doctor. Let's hope it's a good one!

The TARDIS might be smaller on the outside or bigger on the inside, but the view looking out its doors is always the same. It's much, much bigger on the outside in that beautiful, star-filled universe.

Has the Time Lord struck a deal with Google or this another of Google Maps' clever easter eggs? You be the judge, because currently if you zoom on over to Earl's Court Road with Google Streetview you'll notice a very familiar, blue Police Box.
Click on the double white arrows pointing to said box and WHOOSH you're inside the TARDIS!
You can then click and zoom to your heart's (or hearts') content all around the console room. Sadly, you cannot access further into the TARDIS to see the library or swimming pool, but regardless, this is definitely one cool easter egg.

The Doctor and the TARDIS. Their relationship is the beating heart – or is it hearts? – of Doctor Who. Rarely, is there ever one without the other, and for as much as we’ve learned about The Doctor over the show’s almost 50 years we know so little about the TARDIS. Sure, we got some of the best insight ever from Neil Gaiman’s Series 6 episode, “The Doctor’s Wife,” but we don’t really know what it’s like inside the TARDIS, beyond that console room. In the past there have been a few episodes that chose to explore more of the TARDIS. We’ve seen a couple corridors, a few companion bedrooms, and in the ’96 movie we saw the Eye of Harmony, which apparently plays some very important role in the TARDIS’ workings though I don’t think the movie ever made it all that clear.
I know I couldn’t give you a layout or draw you a map of the TARDIS and I don’t think you could either, we’ve just never seen enough of it. Looks like next season that’s all gonna change. The title of Stephen Thompson‘s episode for Series 7: Part 2 is “Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS.” Hmm…wonder where that could take place?
This title matches up with some rumors we heard earlier this year, like when Matt Smith almost let it slip we’d be seeing more of the TARDIS interior during a Q&A before producer Caro Skinner cut him off. And then there was guest star Ashley Walters getting busted for tweeting from the set – a big Doctor Who no-no – who recently told the Radio Times,
…in our episode it’ll be the first time people get to see so much of the TARDIS.
I’m excited for them to spend the majority of an episode inside the TARDIS, exploring. Though I wonder why they must in this episode since it’s clearly nothing something The Doctor and his companions do very often. What reason do you think they’ll be TARDIS-bound next season? The Christmas special is marking a change for Doctor Who. It’s the first step towards the 50th Anniversary, The Doctor (Matt Smith) is being joined by new companion, Clara (Jenna-Louise Coleman), and the TARDIS is getting a makeover.
The TARDIS interior has gone through several changes over the show’s 49 year history. Originally the inside what stark and white, but always with the familiar console and port hole design on the walls. In the 1996 movie the interior took one of its most drastic changes, becoming a massive, vaulted room of Edwardian iron work. When the series returned the interior changed again, with a raised platform for the console, coral pillars, and green lights illuminating the time rotor. It’s been tweaked for each Doctor since, most recently with the 11th Doctor’s TARDIS looking both steampunk and Seussian.

The BBC's Doctor Who has revealed a sneak peak at a brand new TARDIS that will debut in this year's Christmas special, The Snowmen. The second TARDIS for Matt Smith it will be the first TARDIS for new companion Clara (Jenna-Louise Coleman), who makes her entrance on Christmas Day at 5:15pm on BBC ONE. The new set was designed by Michael Pickwoad, the show's production designer, and will be home to the Doctor and Clara as they travel through space and time when the adventure continues in spring 2013 with eight epic episodes.And a description of another image appearing Doctor Who Magazine from Doctor Who TV,
It's black, with a blue hue from the time rotor lighting the room. There's a disc looking thing on the wall, with a red light in the middle and purple lights surrounding it. The time rotor looks very similar to the one in the Lodger TARDIS. It looks much smaller than the current version, perhaps even smaller than Nine and Ten's console room.So the room must be black with the console itself a lighter color, since it looks almost white in the picture. I love the detail of the Gallifreyan symbols. Hmm, and it’s a smaller console room, too. That’s interesting. I wonder if this has anything to do with us supposedly seeing more of TARDIS this season. It’s rumored one of these, “eight epic episodes,” will be called, “Journey to the Center of the TARDIS.”
